if were doing it keeper league then were doing it the way bill simmons described. tht way made sense n to b honest i dont no the rules any other way. otherwise were just doing a simple snake draft or auction. only 3 options
as a compromise why dont we do an auction with no keeper... that way everyone gets a clean slate next year and if you ****ed up the auction draft this year since its our first one, your not penalized next year too
u no wat, this is getting way too complicated and ppl r getting pissed off which isnt the point. were doing same thing, no auction, no keeper league, n ill stop being commish n we can vote on everything.
i tried to make this fun and different but no1 wants work with me, so well set a poll for every single discussion. i dont see the point of being it after this year, **** we dont even need to change anything we can just refresh the league year after year n well just set a new draft date.
ur right i am, ive been saying this since last year im getting bored of this, i was talking last year how i wanted to raise the entry $ so ppl pay more attention. now i find a great way to improve this league and its simple and its still not good enough, im tired of it. i dont have fun doing it this way so some1 else can take it over, ill go through the motions and ill find something to pay more attention to.
the thing is, the more complicated you make it the higher chance you have of screwing your team up. the higher chance you have of screwing your team up means the higher chance someone will give up and quit payin attention.
if somebody wants to waste 50$ and give up halfway through the season, that's their perogative.
last year was EPIC and I don't see why it needs to change. The playoff spots were in hot contention until the final week and only 2 people were out of the running.
its fantasy football with ur friends, no point in getting so worked up about it. im looking forward to the year no matter how we draft. when the season starts we will all have 14 players regardless of how we got them and we will all have fun trying to win and writing stories. no reason to quit as commissioner
im naming kearns as my successor, and i will continue to take my yearly check of $350 for winning the league at the end of each season, and will find a real league to spend my time on after that.
i guess im wired differently than u. im really competitve, i like to talk ****, i like to win. when i do something like fantasy or madden, i dont have fun winning unless im involved otherwise i stop paying attention.
if this is all u want thts fine, a simple league with friends then watever im not gonna quit it, but this was a chance to make something better so i figured i would at least try but its not worth the bs
so then why are you bragging about winning last year when it was luck? surely if you were so competitive you would realize that the only reason you won the championship is because i beat you in the final week and ****ed up the playoff matchups. :)
haha, forster this isnt about luck, everything in fantasy is luck depending on how u look at it. i wanna do a keeper league thats the only thing this is about. i tried last year but it was rushed n no1 wanted to commit. now i have the rules in place, so u guys n start preparing for who u want to target and for how much.
think of the possbilites for just this years draft alone. Every single person has a chance at every single player. if u want all rbs, u can go out n spend all ur $ on rbs. if u want aaron rodgers, then hes urs. u can even start trying to figure out rookies who r gonna blew up for cheap, n then u got him cheap for the next 3 years, and no1 can take tht away from u. now that is a fun draft as oppose to printing out espns top 200.
i want to be able to have some sort of strategy for each season, and each draft, and i want to be able to hold on to certain guys like there my own. and if they get hurt n i sign him to a 3 year deal, then ill hate him in real life even more haha. n once the season is over i still have to figure out how u wanna sign ur guys. now tht is fun
it does sound fun, but what im tryin to say is the harder you make the league, the higher chance you have of people giving up.
if somebody builds a ****ty team or keeps the wrong player or signs the wrong player to big bucks, they are more likely to give up.
with the NFL the way it is, injuries and such, almost every week there are waiver wire steals. that still takes research and skill.
what im tryin to say is i know you hate the fact that it is so easy right now, but the easiness keeps it more competitive. last year was awesome because none of the seeds were locked in until the end. with an auction or a keeper league you kind of make it so the top teams are going to be really good and the people who screw up are going to be totally shafted.
ill do whatever, i just want to get it over with so we can start talking **** and settin our lineups.
i think we need to get the other people in the league involved in this conversation though, right now its only like 5 of us.
most likely just a simple draft to make every1 happy, i gotta talk to every1 n see if auction would b better. i still gotta talk to mikey n joe n see when we can even do this thing, idk how im gonna get joe online
oh and if we decide to do keeper you can choose to keep a player but you lose the next years draft pick in the round that you took him in. just putting it out there
