(dont get in the way of a train)

When a bank robber gets away with the money, the last thing he should do is call the bank the next day, identify himself, and say, "You're damn right I took the money."

A similar concept applies when a football player apparently gets away with a fairly blatant case of unnecessary roughness.

After recovering a fumble, which eventually was ruled not a fumble, in Sunday night's game between the Steelers and the Broncos, linebacker James Harrison encountered Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton.  Orton, not cognizant of the line between bravery and lunacy, tried to tackle Harrison.  So Harrison unloaded on Orton.  Hard.

"He was running his mouth and getting in the way of the train," Harrison said after the game, per Mike Klis of the Denver Post.  "And the train wasn't coming off the track."

"He was popping off down there the first time they were about to score," Harrison said.  "So you run your mouth, expect to get something.  Everything's between the lines, so he got what he had coming."

3 things:

1. i think towson allows alumns to play so im pretty sure we could still set up a team if we wanted to be losers and do it.

2. marc or steve set up a league last year tht i no nick played on (i thought u did too) so y dont we just do tht again. ive told nick at least 10 times im down, idk y it never gets set up.

3. motz is in a co-rec league in canton and now tht u claim u r going to b in bmore a lot i think we should set up our own team.  girls + flag football + drinking all day after the games on a saturday afternoon = 1 hell of a time

soooo John Clayton, the Nastrodamus of all things NFL has released his 32 team QB rankings. I am extremely satisfied with this results, and humbled by the fact he has Big Ben at 4 and McNabb at 9; while Kolb and Hennie are in the basement at 24 and 25 respectively.

i agree with most of it until hes get to around 10. i think palmer sucks but thts just me. i also dont think elis very good but its tough to drop a super bowl winning qb out of tht spot in favor for some1 who hasnt won anything like flacco or schaub so i guess its a good spot. i think matty ice is better than both of them, n after this year im sure he will be. then things start to get a little crazy, campbell, garrad and alex smith?  2 of the 3 will be benched this year. stafford should b higher, kolb will be much higher after eagles go 5-1 or better, and bryon leftwhich should be in the 40s.

ELI 2009
QB RAT 93.1 COMP317 ATT509 PCT.57 YDS 4,021 TD27 INT13

Tony Homo 2009
QB RAT97.6 COMP347 ATT550 PCT63.1 YDS4,483 TD26 INT9

give credit where credits due.

and eli did this with a pourous offensive line, with a largely rookie WR corps.

im sorry not a fan. he might put up some nice stats but so does matt schaub, im more concerned about the record. if it wasnt for the super bowl run i honestly feel he might of been run out of town or at least feeling a lot of pressure.  the only time i was scared of him was when they had burress and tht was more cuz of the eagles inability to cover him.  im not saying kolb should be ahead of eli n maybe im just being a giants hater here but i dont think hes a top 10 qb.

Trust me I'm not one to love Eli, his face is made for punching (and bleeding).

That list is nonsense.

John Clayton is a Nerd to the Nth degree. Id be surprised if he ever touched a football.

Aaron Rodgers below Favre? With Sidney Rice on the bench til mid-season non the less

Carson Palmer in the top ten? He hasn't been good since he got hurt in the playoffs.

Schaub should easially be top 10.

John Clayton is a hack. **** ESPN.

I see the John Clayton article and raise you a Peter King super bowl prediction:

Sports Illustrated’s 2010 NFL preview issue hits newsstands tomorrow (featuring Mark Sanchez on the Northeast regional cover), and Peter King predicts the Steelers will beat the Packers, 33–27, to win Super Bowl XLV.

i DARE any of you to call Peter King a hack, ive heard all of your feelings about his MMQB articles...

Ben a top 4 QB and the Steelers to win the Super Bowl, things are looking pretty good in Pittsburgh right now!!

Peter King is possibly my favorite writer, while I may not agree with his opinions always I will defend his right to say it to the death.

John Clayton is pretty much a Hacky Sack at this point.

i think king picked miami a few years ago and the panthers last year. he also had the saints at 24 last year, so best of luck.  he is well informed but he must of forgot big ben is out for the first 4-6 games meaning they will b lucky to go better than 2-4. good luck in 2011, at least the draft will b fun

There's no question that with Ben behind center the steelers can go toe-to-toe with any team in the league.

Byron n Dennis? not so much. Ben's uncanny ability to escape the pocket and make big plays will maybe be seen with Dixon, but we all know Byron's a statue. Especially with that suspect line, it could be a long first 4-6 games for Byron/Dixon and steeler fans alike. And if I remember correctly Flozell Adams is anchoring that right side of the line right now. Have fun watching him trip and act like an overall scumbag. My least favorite player ever.

It will be the first 4 games. theres no way its more than that.

Atlanta - I'll give atl a W only because i think they are actually really good team this year
Tennessee - Steelers thrive on the titans because they are a running team. Steelers have been top 5 against the run for the past 4 seasons now. W
TB - come on now
Balt - as much as i hate to do it ill give balt the W

Thats a very easy 2-2 to reach. No team has ever been out of the playoff hunt at 2-2 (or even 1-3 for that matter). The broncos went 6-0 last year and missed the playoffs. Titans went 0-8 and missed out by 1 game. the first 4 games do not kill a season and the steelers will not be going 0-4 no matter who is under center.

Also, Ben has really looked good this preason and hes no longer Pig Ben but lean and quick. I think he will have a great season and wont have any problem rallying from 2-2. call me a homer but teams have overcome much worse (greatest show on turf)

so if steelers lose this week does tht make u look smart for predicting 1-1 or dumb cuz u picked both of ur games wrong for ur own team?

also, how awsome was tht sound ex show last night?  between that n nfl playbook i learned a lot, esp how teams try to stop chris johnson now which is showing me i dont think hes gonna break 2k this year.

schaub had more passing yards than peyton last year!

and as much as it hurts me to say it, eli is pretty damn good

i'd take him over mcnabb right now due to his youth, he is certainly on his way to having a mcnabb esque career. he will not be elite but he will be at the top for most of his career most likely.

we'll see if schaub can put up big numbers this year, or was it just a flash in the pan with kyle shanahan?

i thought maybe the doc tried to be a hero or somethin when the gang guy came to finish the job, that happens a lot. gang member gets shot and then they are worried that somebody will come finish the job.

it turns out it was a guy who was just crazy and was upset about the treatment of his mother or something, they caught him now though.

i have 3 rooms to gas today 1 floor below where the shooting happened haha. one of the nurses from the 7th floor went up to the 8th floor and the elevator opened and the cops had their guns drawn and told her to shut the door.

im in my office now but i could have easily been 1 floor below the shooting when it happened. crazy but everythings returning to normal now i think.

so who else likes- correction loves- the move to vick as starter??

yes it does seem like the eagles made a knee-jerk reaction, but i mean, he truley gives the eagles the best chance to win.  and wat has kolb done to deserve to be starting when vick is clearly out playing everyone?

a few points on why i think this is the right move:

-u play ur best guy and the guy who gives u the best chance to win.  how is this any different than wat the cardinals did a few years ago when they put warner in over "franchise qb" matt leinart?  remember this was a few years ago when warners last season was with the giants and he was "washed up" and leinart was the future.  warner took them to the playoffs and even almost won the super bowl, and now leinart is not even with the team.  looks like the move worked out for them, how is it any different from this?

-imagine if kolb did come back and was the starter, do u think if he had 1 bad play eagles fans/media wouldnt be booing the hell out of him and begging for vick.  he would have to play a near perfect game every game or else he would get killed.  wat a way for him to make his 4th career start.

now if vicks plays a few games, and he sucks, then i will say ok start kolb for the rest of the year and start the rebuilding process.  but as vick has been playing, he looks like a top 10 qb and he makes the entire offense better and i am very exicted.

My 2 boys making it! Nasty nate allen, the new safety in philly, and guess what pick we got him with....thats right with the MCNABB pick! VICK+ALLEN > McNabb

Jahvid Best, Nate Allen named NFL rookies of the month

Lions running back Jahvid Best and Eagles safety Nate Allen have been named the NFL offensive and defensive rookies of the month for September.

Best has given some hope to hopeless Lions fans, leading all NFL rookies with 307 yards from scrimmage (183 receiving and 124 rushing). He also leads all NFL players with five touchdowns this season, four on the ground and one through the air.

Best's five touchdowns were the Lions' first five touchdowns of the season, making him the first player to score his team's first five touchdowns since Edward "Dutch" Sternaman of the Decatur Staleys in 1920. (I had Sternaman on my fantasy team that year, which was nice.)

Allen has started all three games at safety for the Eagles this season. He has 12 tackles, two interceptions and a sack.

The Eagles took Allen out of South Florida with the fifth pick in the second round of the draft, and he became the first Eagles rookie to intercept a pass in each of the first two games of the season since Bernard Wilson in 1979.

i will never apologize for talking too much smack. i dont no how the hell i was able to win last night, prolly the most luckiest win ive ever had and it was just as close to nicks win last week minus the exictment. but lets be serious, all tht really matters is getting to the playoffs n hoping to have a good 2-3 week stretch with a little luck.  teams in week 4 r gonna b much different that week 13-14.  right now kearns looks like he has the best team but do u really think LT is gonna b putting up 150 yards n a td in week 13?  plus more big guys r gonna get hurt so we gotta see wat happens

so crazy deal last night, and i watched it all unfold via twitter and you heard it here first, sending Moss to the Pats. Makes sense to me because like the Santonio deal it was either let him play the next 12 games and get nothing or get a 3rd rounder for him now. Brandon tate is the primary beneficiary, dont worry i already picked him up, but this may hurt tom bradys stock. good thing i traded away my starting calibar backup QB the day my starters best weapon is traded -fish ima need him back after this week haha.

anyways, im already hearing rumblings of a vincent jackson to the pats trade rumors. could involve logan mankins. keep it here for further details or check out my twitter account @iLaMarca
