It's fair to question the Bills for many of their decisions of late. But even we don't think the team is crazy enough to feature Marshawn Lynch at running back last week just to showcase him for a trade.
If the Bills wanted to trade Lynch, they would have done so by now. They believe Lynch is part of the solution and his workload in Green Bay won't be a one-time thing.
Gailey indicated that Lynch is going to "play a lot this week" against New England. Rookie running back C.J. Spiller, however, may be stuck at No. 3 on the running back totem pole.
"We just need to get [Spiller] going on a little slower pace than throwing him in there from the get go. He's doing kickoff returns for us. We let him go do that and then break him in slowly on offense," Gailey said.
Gailey saw something in the opener that worried him about Spiller and dialed back the rookie's role. Lynch got 17 carries last week, while Fred Jackson got nine and Spiller received one. Jackson figures to be in the gameplan a lot this week; he's averaged 132 yards from scrimmage per-game against New England in his last three tries.
Spiller is just getting his feet under him. But at a time Jahvid Best is lighting it up in Detroit and the Bills are rotating the same quarterbacks as last year, Buffalo fans would love to see their exciting new addition to the offense on the field more.
