The Winners and Losers of Fantasy Football Through Week 7
Well we just about reached the halfway mark and I though it'd be interesting to see whose busting (me) and whose flourishing(kearns). So without any further ado....
Qbs:
For the most part the top 5 quarterbacks consist exactly of WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE..er would be. The only real surprise addition to the top 5 QB list thus far is one Kyle Orton. Despite the team looking horrendous at times Orton is currently good for 3rd most QB points. Not bad for a waiver pick up. Looking at it though there have been a number of losers. Starting with the much hyped Kevin Kolb who was unceremoniously replaced by Mike “i kill small animals for fun” Vick after week one. While showing some good stuff over the past few weeks its readily apparent that he's heading directly back to the bench. Making this pick pretty worthless. Currently Tom Brady only sits 3 points ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick, so yeah could have probably spent that draft pick a little better, but hey who knew. Brett Favre is finally showing his age and with any luck his foot will fall off this weekend against the patriots.
Rbs:
Its been a mess this year. Arian Foster currently leads the pack and is currently an unquestionable stud in this explosive Houston offense. Darren McFadden is also somewhat of a surprise to be gracing the top 5. While many knew he had the talent coming out of college many were unsure if he could get over his rash of injuries and translate his talents into the big leagues,it seems he finally put it all together in his 3rd year. The rest of the top 5 is the standard affair AP/CJNOT2K/FRANK GORE. Another surprise this year is the GREAT WHITE HOPE thats right mr Peyton Hillis, snatching the Cleveland running game away from Jerome Harris and literally running away with it this man gives all white boys hope. Whats next? The first white Cornerback since Jason Seahorn!? Sadly almost half of the first round RB taken this year aren't even within the top 10 of Rbs. Dissapointing this year are Ray Rice, MJD, Michael Turner(who did have a nice game last week but lets see some consistency), Deangelo Williams , and Ced Benson(i hate myself). As always a lot of peoples teams have been made by those miraculous late round picks.
WR:
two words HAKEEM NICKS. That right the beast from NC is tearing up the NFL in both yards and TD receptions. The Giants young WR corps has a bright bright future ahead of them... Ok enough ranting.
Besides Hakeem we've seen another old face embrace the top 5, former Redskin Brandon Lloyd. Garnering an instant rapport with Kyle “Neck Beard” Orton, Lloyd has been electric all year and shows no signs of letting up. The rest of the WR is pretty standard affair, im hesitant to mention Kenny Britt being in there b/c 50% of his points stem from a single game COUGH * JHAVID BEST * COUGH.
The rest is pretty much the standard affair we've all grown to expect at this point.
That's all I got for now. Until the end of the year wrap up this is Jpoo signing out.
josh very nice, need 1st danny now u i really need to step my game back up. i agree with most obviously, crazy the way fantasy works out even if we re-dod the 1st round i still dont no who i would pick. also, how as a hardcore giants fan do u no smell out nicks b4 the season? very bad scouting on ur end, reminds me of when djax was in his 2nd year last year n a very smart eagle fan snagged him early, and this year when nick picked out mike wallace b4 the year started. or even when danny predictied brian hartline would have a monster year...wait tht never happened scratch tht... josh, good article and anaylsis but its time to step ur fantasy game up haha
i always do terrible in this lesgue for some reason. My team with my friends from home is stupid good
Ben Roethlisberger Arian Foster Adrian Peterson Frank Gore Reggie Wayne Austin Collie/Lance Moore/Mario Mannigham/Vincent Jackson Zach Miller Nick Folk
Well in that draft i drafted flacco then decided to grab big ben. At the beginning of the year flacco wasnt doing so hot so i decided to play quarterback roulette till big ben got back, n the first QB i picked up was vick, and the rest was history....
Nah 10 team. up until a few days ago my team was
Ben Arian AP Jhavid/Marshawn/Beanie Anquan Reggie
i packaged a few to get gore. Now in that league trying to move a QB for a wr.
turner 11 rice 12. i would take either of them over foster and mcfadden but based on the stats so far its hard to back that up. i just think foster had a couple big games and the elite guys usually pan out better in the end. Ray Rice was actually doing worse last year thru 7 games and was #1 overall the second half of the season.
