well since nba playoffs are gonna b over in the next 2-3 weeks, and with no nfl news, i am going to need a hobby...so what better way to kill some time than by playing video games!
josh, i need ur expertise here, how is that LA Noire game? ive heard good things, is it like GTA?
nick, since weve been playing nhl 2009 like it came out yesterday i think we should be able to get a good deal and the new one, dont u think? n its not like we need to be in season for us to play it, as evidence of u n kearns still playing madden last night even tho nfl hasnt played a game in 3 months.
i saw some pretty cool shooter game on all the commercials (forgot the name) any1 know what im talking about here?
i think its time to set up the video game room and with the new couches this could be a great assest to our house!
Fish, my brother got LA Noire and it is freaking awesome. And this is coming from someone who hasn't played a video game since Nam.

Little more thinking involved, your a cop and you solving crimes and you can go about it different ways. Like you can decide to either beat a confession out of someone, or be nice.

check this out. madden cuts! new franchise mode updates, seem pretty cool, i cant imagine how i would have reacted if this happened when i was 12...or 16.
na i stopped playing franchises a long time ago. i wish i still had it in me but i got bored playing the computer game after game. i think once i graduated high school i only finished 1 full season in any game after that. i really liked playing online but our internet is so crappy that i could only play at certain times and i got so frustrated i basically gave up. maybe once we get the new video game room ill get back into it.
I haven't enjoyed video games since I stopped smoking pot, no joke, thats the truth.

if were going post nintendo u gotta have super mario brothers for SUPER nintendo (if that counts). that game was groundbreaking. i also loved nba 2k for sega dreamcast. probably my favorite basketball game of all time
also loved gta2 (for ps1) as well as gta vice city for ps2.
also- madden 2001, while it wasnt the best madden ever, it was def the most groundbreaking, going from ps1 to ps2. once i played that game i could never go back playing ps1
please tell me u guys played this game? it was an absolutle classic and the foundation to the GTA games now. u had 3 gangs and had to do missions for all of them, but if u did a mission for one of the other gangs the rivals would hate u n shoot at u if u went on there turf. man that game was awsome, i even remember u could out run bullets when some1 shot at u hahaha
5. NHL '94 4. Metal Geal Solid 2 3. Madden 2004 2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1. GTA San Andreas
GTA San Andreas is number uno on my list. I could have sat there and just rode the dirtbike in the country listening to "All my ex's live in Texas" for hours and hour and hours.

metal gear solid 2 is PHENOMENAL, instant classic.
Lets go in a different direction
Most Over Rated Games
1. Halo Single Player 2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 3.Most recent editions of madden (though i still play the **** outta em) 4.God of Wars 5. Any video game based off a movie
ya **** nick, how the hell do u not include halo in ur top 5? we played that game in college more than any other game combined. but i do agree with josh, single player mode= not that fun
nick had one then the red eye thing happened and he was suppose to return it and get a new one. that was 3 years ago haha. we dont really play enough video games to purchase a whole new system but i do miss multi player halo. how was the new one, was it like the ones we played in college or is it like warcraft?
the xbox i had in college got the ring of death so i sent it back then when the new one i got fcuked up the warrently on the original one had expired so they wouldnt replace it for free.
i do miss xbox a lot mostly because of halo but i hate that you have to pay for xbox live
While it does suck you have to pay for Live the quality of it compared to PSN is second to none. The new halo multiplayer was pretty much the same as the old ones with a few added kinks. Pick a 360 up only like 200 now a days, Interstate Madden/COD/MLB/Halo ETC.
I used to be so into NCAA when I was in high school. Dan Pflieger was always the Heisman candidate for the University of Miami! And I always won.........All-Star setting, not Heisman, that was the only way I won the Heisman.

i use to play ncaa just as much if not more than madden when i was a freshman/sophmore of hs. i loved dynasty mode and recruting. i havent played it much since, but i heard some good things so i wanna try the demo. it use to hold me over until madden so i miss that. btw, what has every1 heard about madden, what r the new improvements for this years game suppose to be?
Completely overhauled the franchise mode. "Any given sunday" mode where your player could just have an off day and his ratings will drop because of it, and a lot more...
It happens every Sunday. A player blows a play and it impacts their performance for the rest of the game. It digs into their head and suddenly one dropped pass becomes three drops and some poorly run routes. Some players are more susceptible to these things than others. Sometimes it starts to affect the entire team. In Madden games of the past, a player's ratings stayed static from the flip of the coin to the final whistle. But this will no longer be the case. In Madden 12, any given player's performance through a game dynamically affects his stats.
Previously, I revealed how Madden NFL 12's Franchise mode handles fluctuations of a player's performance over the course of a season. Well, that stuff applies to every play of every game. Every player is rated on their confidence and consistency, which helps determine how much they are impacted by good and bad play.
Jay Cutler can throw a pick and quickly start dropping down to a 75-rated passer. But he can also string together completions and leap up to an overall 90 rating in a game. Peyton Manning won't have those severe swings in either direction. He might have a tough game here and there or a particularly sharp performance, but overall, Peyton is Peyton every time he steps onto the field.
The hope is that no two games will ever be the same and that Madden finally captures the essence of every NFL player. To that end, tendencies and traits are given for anyone who straps on a helmet. When pressured, Brady is unlikely to run and tends to throw the ball away rather than sling it wildly into traffic. Vick isn't afraid to tuck and go when he feels a little heat. The traits get pretty specific, such as the tendency to cover the ball against a medium hitter. Yeah, that specific.
Those tendencies help dictate how players react on the field. But it's what happens after every down that makes things interesting. Those tendencies can change during a game, depending on the player's psyche. Some crumble quickly when things start going bad.
Get a good hit on Eli Manning, for example, and he starts pressing. He might get rid of the ball a little quicker, start misreading the defense in his hurry. Peyton Hillis fights for every yard, but if he coughs it up early, he'll become more conscious of protecting the ball. He'll cover up more often, doing his best to secure the ball. That might cost him a yard here or there, but also limits the risk of another fumble.
ALSO INCLUDED...
Player Roles
Tom Brady is a playoff performer. He's good in the regular season, but something kicks in during the playoffs that boost his ability to win games. Mark Brunell has become a mentor. His role is to support the development of Jets QB Mark Sanchez. Having Brunell as mentor has Sanchez learning and improving at a faster rate. Adrian Peterson has been fumble prone in the past. It's in his head now. In big moments, he's more likely to cough up the rock. (No word yet on Peterson's role in Madden NFL 12).
Roles aren't given, they're earned. In each offseason, every player is analyzed to see if they meet specific criteria for a role. If so, they enter the next season tagged as such. These roles can have a big influence in games. After all, clutch performers can do things they just couldn't ever hope to do the first 55 minutes of a game. A switch turns on and they make good things happen. Some roles can have a positive effect on a player or team and others, like the unfortunate "fumble prone" role, can be negatives that follow a player until they find a way to shake the tag.
seems pretty cool, althought it might get annoying if u use one of these guys n all of a sudden they start to suck cuz of a few plays, esp if that guy is ur qb. it seems like a lot of these changing r only gonna take place if u play vs the computer but well see.
also, do u have any idea how the online franchise works? how do u sign up for one? and is it 32 ppl or r some vs the computer. i really wanna do one, josh, do u no hwo it works?
The founder of file-sharing site Megaupload isn't just considered one of the most notorious digital pirates in the world: he's also one of the best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players around.
Kim Dotcom (Getty Images)
Unfortunately for Kim Dotcom, he's no longer on top of either game.
Last week, Dotcom was arrested in his New Zealand mansion over accusations that Megaupload cost copyright holders $500 million in lost revenue by facilitating millions of illegal downloads. That's keeping him tied up in court, which means he's not doing what any hardcore gamer should be doing: protecting his high score.
Dotcom, born Kim Schmitz, plays Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 under the name MEGARACER. And on New Year's Eve, MEGARACER managed to become the number 1 ranked player in the world -- no small feat for a game that sold over 15 million copies (and no small irony, considering he ran a site responsible for sharing illegal copies of the game).
Thanks to his brush with the law, however, he's slipped to the number 2 spot, usurped by a most-definitely-not-in-jail gamer named Azaros. Seeing as how Dotcom's been denied bail -- he's been deemed an 'extreme flight risk' -- it looks like Azaros' score is pretty safe for now.
Not that anyone should feel sorry for Dotcom. Though he's denied allegations that he was responsible for one of the world's biggest entertainment piracy operations, his lavish lifestyle has become a focal point of the investigation. Thanks to Megaupload's popularity, authorities believe he has roughly $175 million in assets.
And boy, does it show. In addition to pricey art and a fleet of expensive automobiles -- including a 1959 pink Cadillac and a Rolls Royce Phantom -- he reportedly owns a swimming pool filled with imported spring water. Even cooler? One entire wall of his mansion is outfitted with seven 60-inch HD screens, each with its own Xbox 360 console and Lazyboy recliner. That's some serious man-caving.
