Since we always argue about our predictions, and it is impossible to keep track, I will now create seperate threads for seperate sports of sporting events. Here is the new thread for the 2011-2012 NFL Season.
This is the only place you can pull your "quotes" for arguments.

The Philadelphia Eagles are easily the clear cut favorite to win the division, but they also put a huge amount of pressure on the shoulders of everyone on the team, especially Mike Vick. The Dallas Cowboys get the return of Tony Romo, and the arrival of Rob Ryan, arguably the best defensive coordinator in football.

One of the only receivers I have witnessed truely "Moss people" on a consistent basis, this guy has true talent. Even with a shotty QB situation, his numbers will remain unaffected. With Jerome Simpson as the only other WR on the roster, expect him to easily get Offensive ROY honors.

^ possibly, I think the cowboys are definitely flying under the radar, but so far this pre-season rob ryans defense has looked pretty pathetic.
Agreed, but Chad Henne also has looked like Peyton Manning. #JustSaying

even as a huge eagles fan i can somewhat see the dallas argument. ppl are starting to go in their favor due to the over analyis of the eagles preseason line issues, all the new players, and the additional pressure. i think they will be fine and r still better than the dallas, but its not an outragous argument to make.
aj greene on the other hand... no way 10 tds for him this year. if carson palmer was his qb, maaaaybe. but andy dalton?? no way hes get 10 with him as his qb. ive never seen a rookie to rookie wr/qb combo be that effective and def not a qb like dalton who is so far behind due to the lockout.
I know Peyton was good for 10 games for the past 10 seasons but i think this is the year that changes. Peyton is already banged up and who knows the status of Austin Collie. More so than the Colts declining, I really like the Texans to improve a lot this season. Defense was their weakest link last year so they went out and got JJ Watt and Brooks Reed which allowed them to slide Mario Williams to OLB. They picked up Jo Jo who I thought was the second best CB in FA. The big difference is Wade Phillips. He wasnt a great head coach but is a great D Coordiantor. Texans set the tone in week 1 and go on to win the AFC South as the Colts fight for a wildcard.
well mannings already hurt and I think their window is closing. The texans added jj watt and johnathan joseph along with wade phillips to the great offense theyre on the upswing. They win 8 games every year i think they easily win 9 this year. i can see the colts going 9-7
every year ppl say Dallas is winning it "this" year. Just like the Chargers they always dissapoint. im not a romo fan, and i think theyre defense sucks, so gimme the iggles in the NFCLeast
Nick, thanks for following the format. It makes it so much easier to go back and pick em out!
Hopefully Fish learns about the Advanced Editor in time.

i will make a playoff predicitions some time next week, but just a few things:
just like the cardinals a few years ago when they had warner and boldin, every year ppl say the lions are gonna be good or the texans are gonna be good and it never happens, its only a matter of time before it actually does. are they a sleeper? i guess but when ppl say it every year it kinda ruins it. i feel a sleeper should be a team nobdy sees coming, which is why mine in the broncos.
as nick said, its also trendy to pick the chargers and cowboys for winning it all. i can see the chargers making a run, but dont think they can beat the steelers or pats in the playoffsm and i know dallas wont be able to get past philly, NO, or GB. I know its early, but super bowl pick:
Matt Ryan will EXPLODE this year joining the ranks of the "Elite" QB's
It's time to put up or shut up for Ryan, is he going to be in the same echelon as Eli and such? Or will he take the next step and join the likes of Rivers, Brady, Manning etc. I think he does it, they've already stated on numerous occasions this year that they will be opening up the passing game to new extremes this year. Just look at the preseason game a week or 2 ago when Ryan had 42 first half passes, 42!!!! I think he meets these challenges and exceeds them.
As per Danny's request some numbers...
4200 yards 30 TDs
put it on the boarrrddddddddd

OHHHHHHHHHH ****TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT we got a super bowl pickkkk. And a good one at that.
Not only would me and fish not be able to talk to each other for at least 3 weeks- the 2 leading up to the super bowl plus the one after- but there would be a family rivalry between my yinz in pittsburgh and my kinfolk in philly. ive been waiting my whole life for that super bowl matchup, would be AWESOME if it happened.
and its really not that unrealistic. let me ease your mind a little bit about the steelers facing another super bowl hangover.
-both of the past 2 super bowls the steelers won. this gives them reason to be complacient. losing is a whole nother story. theyre hungry this year -after the 2006 super bowl the steelers lost their team leader in jerome bettis. that was a BIG loss for the following season as they tried to replace him with slow willie parker - after the 2006 super bowl ben decided to go evil keneval without a helmet. riding his bike face first into the windshield of a camry - also that offseaon, roethlisberger had appendectimy to remove his appendix. he missed the season opener and it took him a while to catch back on, prompting a slow start and a bad record - the steelers receivers are as deep as they have been since ward, plaxico and yancy thigpen lined up with kordell stewart all over the field - we all know what happened after the 2008 super bowl. stupid skank **** **** **** bitch tryin to exploit ben. gators bitches wear jimmys - i realize they have had some controvery with twitter and interviews, but thats differnt than something looming over their personal lives liek it has in the past. bens allegations and motorcycle accident couldnt just go away, and it was obvious that theyr lingered
Josh, that Bold Prediction will be really hard to prove right/wrong. Give him some numbers! Say >4200 Yards, 30 or more TDs? That sounds elite to me.

i feel like i read that same article every single year. i already pointed out jason worilds and stevenson sylvester waiting in the wings to step in seamlessly. also, keisel, ziggy hood and cam heyward will be fine at d end for the next 10 years. steelers have already found replacements, theyre just coaching them up so their ready when the time comes.
of course there will be drop off from harrison, but it wont be drop dead for the defense. and this is AFTER we know that hes declined. he had back surgery so couldnt work out, the problem is that hes not in "football shape" not that hes injured. hes a workout machines, he will be fine
Tom Brady will get caught cheating on his wife with Doug Fluties daughter, now a Pats cheerleader.
DAMN SHE IS HOT!

Check out this bold prediction from Don Banks of SI:
2. After playing in the relative obscurity of Oakland for the first eight years of his NFL career (all playoff-less and non-winning years), Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha will have some unexpected struggles in the big-game, big-market atmosphere of the NFC East. He won't be left unchallenged for seasons at a time in his new division, and the more teams try to throw at him, the more he'll appear less than invincible and even a little vulnerable. By season's end, some will consider him over-rated.
15. Playing the third-down back role in New Orleans, Darren Sproles will account for more production than Reggie Bush does in an every-down role in Miami. If Bush can even stay healthy, that is.
that is some serious bold predictions from banks. i can def see teams going after nnamdi more this year, manily cuz teams rnt gonna b able to avoid him like they did at oakland n he is gonna give up a few more big plays than he did in past years. i def think some are gonna call him overrated cuz its tough to tell with positions that dont have stats that easily rank positions such as like corner, or the olinemen/dlinemen so its only natural.
yea kinda by process of elimination they will have to throw at him eventually considering teams top-3 WRs will be covered by pro-bowl caliber CBs anyways
making a few predictions (not so much bold but i think these are going to come true)
- Lions start to fade the 2nd half of the year but hang on to the 6th seed. Something like 10-6 i'm guessing. They then will lose in the 1st round
-49ers get into the playoffs, maybe even the bye, but do not make it past the 2nd round. They are the typical team that comes out of nowhere and looks great all year, but then once they hit the playoffs alex smith is going to revert to his old form and we are all going to remember why he was almost cut every year the past 5 years.
Prediction: 49ers get the 2nd bye but lose in round 2.
Lions win their first playoff game since the Civil War, and face the 49ers! Harbaugh v Schwartz Part II!
P.S. I don't really think this will happen, just think it would be funny as all hell!

imagine the media coverage for that game and the pregame hype over a stupid handshake haha. it will be the most anticpated post game handshake since mangini vs belchick
I am cutting out of work early today, and going to play golf.
Boss is not here, and we are running out of good days!
PEACE B!tches. I will surely be on later around 11PM when no one is one just to close out some arguments.

THE DOLPHINS WILL HIRE FORMER HEAD COACH BILL COWHER.
We all know the old Steelers head coach will coach again, but the question was to what team, and for what price. We also suspected he did not want to take control of a complete overhaul team. Price? We know its high, and who else other than Stephen Ross can you suspect will pay the man?!? Also, the Dolphins have proved the past 7 weeks that they have almost all the pieces in place, sans QB. Bill Cowher will be able to come in, draft a QB right away, and completely take control of every aspect of this team.
*****YOUR HEARD IT HEAR FIRST*****

yes, u made a good prediction that he was going to have a big year, but when u call a WR is going to have 10 tds, he has to have 10 tds for it to be a "great predition."
