Already tied the franchise record....in 1 year! If you take a look at my profile pictures from last year, you will notice I had a picture of Patrick Peterson up for a while. Big fan.

from peter king:

Nor the mayhem caused late in the week with star cornerback Vontae Davis' reported altercation with Brandon Marshall, or, according to the Miami Herald, Davis showing up at practice hung over the other day and not being allowed to make the trip to Kansas City.

whoa.  danny, now this is a guy who knows whats best for the franchise! hes seems the only one dedicated to get andrew luck for next year while all the other dolphins r focused on ruining their future and winning!  why r they not following davis's lead here?

Fish, don't take you anger out on Vontae since your Eagles lost and your "dream" season is over. With that said, Fish's best rivalry, Colts/Pats, has been moved from prime time. I'll stick with Ravens/Steelers.

Ike Taylor and Ryan Clark, two players that CLEARLY love the team they play for. These guys seemed to be free agents every 3 months and always stay.

danny, this was said on monday, before the eagles lost, so good point. and i like how u take an argument such as, name the best rivalry over THE PAST 7 years and then make a point based off what happens AFTERWORDS.

that would be like aruging that auburn shouldnt be in the BCS title game last year because they suck this year.

whos the better wr over the past 7 years, randy moss or brandon llyod?

2010/2011 stats:

llyod: 77 catches, 1,448 yards 11 tds

moss: 28 catches 393 yards 5 tds

So CLEARLY, brandon llyod is the better wr than moss over the past 7 years

2011: florida 5-4 unranked

2011: oklahoma state 9-0 #2 in the country

CLEARY, oklahoma state has been the better program the past 7 years

Later in the game, the officials properly penalized Steelers safety Ryan Clark for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Ravens tight end Ed Dickson.  Since Clark is a repeat offender, he’s been hit with a fine in the amount of $40,000.

so this not only proves 1 point of mine, but 2 to nick.

1. nfl does go harder at repeat offenders

2. this was clearly an illegal hit which nick asked me, "really fish? are u even watching the game?"

not saying i agree with how the rules are, but based off how they are being called now, that hit was clearly head to head and clearly something refs r gonna penalty (and the nfl is gonna fine) 10 out of 10 times.

when ray lewis gets no penalty for giving another player a concussion and half the fine of someone who made a hard hit to dislodge the ball something is completly wrong.

and when a super bowl winning head coach is using the play as an example of a great hit in the film room, your point is not taken in the slightest fish.

my point was from our convo on sunday night where u said:

u: so was that hit worth a penalty and a fine? only cuz he's a repeat offender right

me: it was helmet to helmet there gonna call that every single time

u: really fish? are u even watching the game?

results: 40k fine

how am i wrong?

cuz they missed the ray lewis call? not seeing ur point but id love to see how u change the subject

as ive said before id be happy do disuss these things if you didnt start the post with "so this not only proves 1 point of mine, but 2 to nick."

ur never gonna change my mind. the call on clark was ridiculas and not making the call on ray lewis was inexcusible. would have been 1st and goal for the steelers and a possiblity at 4 additional points. was 3rd down with less than a minute left in the half and the clark call gave the ravens a first down at midfield with enough time to kick a fg. a 7 point swing that the refs directly caused.

not sure what your missing about my blatent objection to the call?

i agree that they missed the ray lewis call.  but because they missed the lewis call doesnt mean they were wrong on the clark call.

my whole point was i dont like being called out on text for being wrong and "not watching the game" when i was clearly right about the refs calling that every time.

not agreeing with the rules is one thing, and most ppl feel the same way.  but they throw a flag on that type of play 10 out of 10 times so idk y ur repeatedly confused when they get flaged and then fined

i had complete confidence in the eagles, even saying they would win the division by 2 games... until yesterday. if kevin kolb was playing vs his old team and pulled out an emotional win then fine. but it was john skelton and the cardinals defense that beat the eagles. i hate to say it cause i have a lot of family that are eagles fans, but they just dont look like a very good team. im not sure if its the personell combinations, the coaching (hint hint) or what but i turned that game on after the steelers took care of business and it just didnt seem like the eagles were gonna win that game.

i wouldnt totally blame the offseson moves because kevin kolb hasnt done a damn thing so they still won that trade even with just the second round pick, but this has gotta be one of the most dissapointing seasons in a long time for any team. i guess it just goes to show you you cant buy a team, you gotta build thru the draft.

my question fish is now what? they spent a ton of cap space last season, some of the guys are on 1 year deals, youve for mccoy and jackson with contracts coming up, asante and jackson are unhappy, and theres no way to add new talent. they gotta make some tough decisions. i remember we were talking before the season about how the eagles are all in, and it didnt work out, so where do they go from here assuming the season continues the way its been going?

again, not piling it on the eagles cause i like them and know a lot of ppl who do, but its become a mess up there

btw i do believe that the more time a team spends together the better they become so if the answer is keep the core guys together for another season that could def work

Nick, I don't disagree with a single thing you said. Great post.

I believe that when the Eagles were signing all these people, I was more then skeptical it would equal instant success. I believe my (and others) strong comparison was how this was no different than the Redskins, and it looks like by the results I was right!

DJax is gone after this season, I'll put money on it.

I garuntee the Giants make the playoffs this year, be it as NFC east champs, or wild card. You're just depressed about your team so you're laying it on to a fan of a division rival, if I were a cowboy fan you'd be saying the same thing. The Giants are already showing that they can hang with anyone in the division (barring Green Bay, cause **** man they're Green Bay 19-0 coming soon to a TV near you). We'll see how it all plays out in a few weeks, but with the level of injuries the Giants have already suffered, it's pretty amazing how well they've managed to play.

they need to resign mccoy, but hes got another year after this year so im not too worried about him.  i want desean resigned, as u saw yesterday without a deep speed threat teams play them much differently and it reall effected vick.  asente is almost def gone, so that will clear up cap space and some softness issues.  eagles def need to keep the core together, as u see adding 10 new players each offseason is not the answer.  it really comes down to coaching.  look at the 49ers, they were terrible last year and with the same team they are now a top 5 team just by adding new coaches.  so that means reid has got to go.  and if for some reason he stays, they need a REAL d coordinator, theyve blown 5 ****ing 4th quarter leads that is all coaching and toughness

So long as Eli still keeps up his level of play, the Giants will win the division. The 49ers look like one of the strongest teams in the league now, not a horrible loss. For some reason Carlos Rogers is playing like Revis. Who knew?! Another Redskin that leaves Washington and starts playing!

I hope the Eagles handle McCoy well. I don't care if he has an extra year, you gotta show the guy your committed and pay him now. If you procrastinate and wait until the end, bad things could happen....Matt Forte, Chris Johnson.

ive said it all year, giants rnt gonna win the division.  i said weeks ago it was dallas or philly and obviously philly doesnt want it so its gonna be dallas.

ny is 1 game ahead of dallas and still have to play philly, NO, GB and the Jets, plus dallas twice.

bolley is now out for a while, NY is not going beat most of the teams they have on their schedule, and there not going to the playoffs.

dallas was inconsitant but they put it together pretty well lately. I gotta admit i havent seen a sinle giants game this season so i cant really comment on how theyre playing. the 2 games between the 2 should go along way to decide the division and i know giants have a real tough schedule so theyre gonna have to win AT LEAST one of those 2

Giants will beat philly
will probably lose to NO, and GB, though I think they could possibly win against NO
They'll split with dallas
and beat the jets.
and then beat the skins

that puts them at (assuming they beat NO) 11-5

now the cowboys...

will probably beat Miami, Washington, Arizona, (the giants once), Tampa, Philly. And lose to the giants once.

That will give them a Record of GASP 11-5

Now if that happens, TIE BREAKERS!!!! so lets see who'd be better in the division By my guesses, the Cowboys would JUST win the division by a 5-1 record to a 4-2.

No question, its gonna be tough for the Giants, that second half schedule is hellish, whereas the cowboys is pretty easy.

It'll all be interesting to watch play out.
