if he really wanted to work there he would have been hired weeks ago. i think it has more to do with the sanctions oregon is facing than anything a la pete carroll

Fun fact:

This is the first time in a decade that a QB by the name of Manning/Brady/Roethlisberger isn't representing the AFC in the Super Bowl

Did anyone else find the Ravens postgame interview to be the most surreal thing ever?

1. Robot Man congratulating the Ravens

2.Ray Lewis hanging on Steve Biscotti's shoulders while Biscotti tenderly stroked his arm.

3.T-Sizzles lips hanging down to his knees

4.Joe Flacco looking like a pedophile at a kids park.

5.Ray Lewis' excessive over acting.

Bizzare.

i think that is such BS.  a lot of teams havent won the SUPER BOWL in the past 8 years or whatever it is, but this team has been to at least 2 super bowls since then and probably another 1 or afc championship games.  the year after they got caught they went 18-0 and only lost because of the miralce helmet catch.  i mean come on, so does that mean if they were still "cheating" they would have 3 more super bowl wins?  its just an excuse for pats bashers to hate on them even tho they have been the best team in the NFL by far the past 15 years

either gonna be really good or really bad hire. most college coaches dont succed especially with an offense like chip kelly. but skins 9ers and hakws have changed that for a year. lets see if its here to stay or just the 2013 wildcat.

i hear revis is on the trading block. iggles love acquiring overpriced overrated CBs go get him dreeeeeeam redeeeeeeeeeem creeeeeeeeeam team team

Nah, I really have zero fear of a College coach bringing a college system to the NFL. None the less when there is NO one worth drafting early to help him build that system.

Nick, you think Revis is overrated?

i think the biggest misconception with chip kelly is that he is going to come to the NFL n run the same offense he ran at oregon with the option and the inside/outside zone read every play.  its not going to be like that in the NFL and he knows it.  hes a good football coach n hes going to find ways to use the players and speed he has to make it work.  im sure he will be brining his fast pace tempo n certain plays, but dont expect nick foles to be reading the read option anytime soon.  im just happy to see something different other than reid, the team obviously quit on him the last half of the year

That gets ugly real teal fast.

1)Ryan Clady (you gotta believe Peyton will make sure this guy gets PAID) -DEN
2)Jake Long - MIA
3)Branden Albert - KC
4)Sebastian Vollmer - NE

interesting.  those FA Qbs are garbage but you didnt include vick, alex smith or matt flynn who all will most likely be avaiable.

the most interesting names for me are jake long, mike wallace and talib.  long's contract is too big to get tagged (was drafted #1 before new rookie scale) so he is most likley gone.  good pick by the phins over matt ryan btw.  mike wallace is going to want to get PAID and i doubt the steelers are going to match whatever he can get on the open market.  bye mike.  and talib is gonna get a good deal after seeing what he did with NE the 2nd half of the year.  only issue with him is off the field but only takes 1 team to take a chance and im sure someone will.

eagles still dont know what d there running (3-4 or 4-3) so i have no idea who they will target, but after these past 2 years i think they've learned to stay the hell away from FA

I still remember how angry/upset I was when I heard Nnamdi signed w/ the Eagles.

I wish I could go back in time, pat myself on the back and say don't worry, it's gonna be awesome.

after looking at that list again i saw dashon goldson is going to be interesting.  he was tagged last year so i doubt he gets it again n he is real good.  no way ed reed leaves bmore

name the football player who said this:

I'm not into the thinner girls and the modelling thing like that. I like hood chicks. I like girls with a couple stab wounds, bullet holes, been knocked up a few times. … I like girls who you know have bad credit when they're 21."

if u dont finish 1st you're last. eagles have the most exciting coach to enter the NFL in years and its a new era, things can only go up. stillers on the other hand, didnt exactly look like super bowl contenders either while going 8-8, and are now losing their #1 wr and #1 pass rusher and are still over the cap after years of pushing back contracts finally caught up to them.  things look bleak, i think firing their offense coordinator who then became coach of the year for a fired todd hailey was their down fall.

dark days ahead!

Steelers could be facing another purge of veterans

James HarrisonAP

Last year, the Steelers had to cut players like linebacker James Farrior and receiver Hines Ward in order to get in line with the 2012 salary cap.

As Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette explains it, last year’s changes could be a “drop in the bucket” compared to what’s coming in 2013.

“The Steelers could lose every one of their free agents, and they might have to lose a few more veterans if they don’t agree to take less money in 2013,” Bouchette writes. “They are so far over the salary cap that they would not be able to fill a 53-man roster without doing all of that.”

Prime candidates to be cut include linebacker James Harrison, who has a base salary of $6.57 million in 2013. And while safety Troy Polamalu most likely won’t be released, his $7.5 million base salary puts him in line for, at a minimum, a new contract that pushes some of that money into future years.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who has an $11.6 million base salary, could once again shuffle money around. But there’s only so much that can be done with only three years left on his deal; at some point, an extension will be necessary. (Meanwhile, an extra $2.675 million counts against this year’s cap after last year’s restructuring that freed up more than $8 million in cap space.)

The situation makes it crystal clear that receiver Mike Wallace will go elsewhere in March. As Bouchette points out, G.M. Kevin Colbert already has said the team won’t use the franchise tag on anyone, and that’s the only way they would have kept Wallace, who is destined to be overpaid on the first day of free agency by someone like the Dolphins.

im more playing around and it's way too early, but things don't look great for the steelers right now.  the pushing back guarenteed money for older veterns really hurts teams.  it killed the jets and now its doing the same for the steelers.  u have all these high paid guys who help u win super bowls, but then they get to an age where their play doesnt match the money they get and then injuries happen and the backs ups just aren't good.  luckily they have big ben so teams with franchise qbs also have a chance but even u cant argue that going from arians to hailey was a huge mistake

well he's going for 2500 yards next year and offseason surgery went so well last year this doesnt surprise me that he's trying to gain another edge with more surgery!
