2014 NFL Draft

never too early....

http://nfl.si.com/2013/04/30/2014-nfl-mock-draft/

1. Oakland Raiders — Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina: Whichever team winds up picking No. 1 overall will be faced with quite the dilemma. Does that team nab a potential franchise quarterback or Clowney, the country’s best defender and a player that may have been taken first in the 2013 draft had he been eligible? I’ll stick with Clowney here, for now, because he’s the best 2014 prospect. Also, it’s a deep QB draft, so the Raiders (hypothetically) could land Clowney early, then possibly turn around with a QB like A.J. McCarron, Braxton Miller, Derek Carr or David Fales atop Round 2.

2. Arizona Cardinals — Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville: We’re still four months from the college football season, but Bridgewater is the clear top QB prospect for 2014. That’s not to say that the QB crop is weak — several could justify first-round picks (assuming they don’t flop in 2013) and the class could have several players off the board on Day 1 or 2. But there is very little not to like about Bridgewater’s game, and the Cardinals would love to have him.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars — Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson: As a guest analyst on the NFL Network’s draft coverage, LSU head coach absolutely raved about Boyd. Miles’ Tigers fell to Boyd’s … well, Tigers in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl last year, and Boyd threw for 346 yards and accounted for three touchdowns. Miles said his team tried everything and just couldn’t stop the assault. Boyd has now had back-to-back sensational years, and he is the type of dual-threat QB teams are clamoring for right now.

4. Cleveland Browns — Marqise Lee, WR, USC: Lee is just 6-feet tall, so we’re not talking about a Calvin Johnson-type that’s going to win jump balls consistently. What Lee will do, though, is get open and make plays. He caught a whopping 118 passes last season for 1,721 yards and 14 touchdowns. You’re looking at a Heisman frontrunner for 2013 and a player that could dramatically improve an NFL offense.

5. New York Jets — Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson: The Jets again miss out on the top receiver, this imaginary draft matching 2013 reality. Watkins would be a terrific consolation prize. He played second fiddle to DeAndre Hopkins as a freshman and still put up 57 catches for 708 yards. Given a year to shine as the No. 1 target for Boyd, Watkins should soar.

6. San Diego Chargers — Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M: Because the talent elsewhere will be better at the 2014 draft, offensive tackles will not dominate as they did this year. It’s still a loaded position, and expect Matthews to be right at the top. He might be even better than 2013 No. 2 pick Luke Joeckel.

7. Buffalo Bills — C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama: Oh, look, an elite player from Alabama. Mosley can do it all — he had 107 tackles and a pair of interceptions last season — and would give Buffalo another dynamite young player to pair with 2013 second-rounder Kiko Alonso.

8. Kansas City Chiefs — Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame: Nix is a bit like Star Lotulelei, in that he’s massive (6-foot-3, 330) and yet still nimble enough to beat blockers at the line. Kansas City could drop him right in at nose tackle, but he could play DT in a 4-3 or slide out to DE in a 3-4 if needed.

9. Philadelphia Eagles — Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA: Renowned QB guru Steve Clarkson said that Hundley would have been the top pick in the 2013 draft, had he been eligible. It’s hard to argue, given the skills on this 6-3 QB. Another year like his freshman campaign (3,745 yards passing, 38 total touchdowns) should push Hundley to the draft.

10. Tennessee Titans — Morgan Breslin, DE, USC: Breslin racked up 13.0 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss in his first season following a transfer from junior college. He could be the premier pass rusher in the 2014 class.

11. Detroit Lions — Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State: Maybe another year of getting torched by Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler and others will convince Detroit to draft a CB in Round 1. And Roby looks like the best of the bunch. Like Dee Milliner (6-0), Roby is a bit small (5-11); also like Milliner, he has speed and just loves attacking the football.

12. St. Louis Rams — Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan: Lewan might have leapfrogged Eric Fisher and Luke Joeckel to be the No. 1 pick in 2013, if he had entered his name in the draft rather than returned to Michigan. He’s a clear high first-round prospect and, with Devin Gardner under center rather than Denard Robinson, will get a full year in a pro-style system.

13. Miami Dolphins — Stephon Tuitt, DT, Notre Dame: The yin to Nix’s yang, Tuitt dominated at DE in the Irish’s 3-4, chalking up 12.0 sacks and making life miserable for offensive linemen.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Will Sutton, DT, Arizona State: Sutton’s cut from the mold of Sharrif Floyd (a 2013 first-rounder for Minnesota) — undersized for DT (listed at 6-1, 288 and smaller than that), but a guy who continually makes plays.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers — Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington: Seferian-Jenkins’ situation bears monitoring — he’s currently suspended from Washington for an offseason DUI arrest. If he gets things in order, the rising junior is a definite Round 1 pick. Think Tyler Eifert with even more athleticism.

16. Carolina Panthers — Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt: Taking a stab at the WR spot here. Matthews, 6-3 and 205 pounds, flirted with the 2013 draft following a 94-catch year. He opted to return to Vandy for his senior year, which should help him polish up his game. He’s not a burner but, like a Keenan Allen, exploits weaknesses in defenses.

17. Dallas Cowboys — Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama: Kouandjio could climb much higher than this. He was the starting left tackle last season for Alabama’s dominant line, and he could climb into the top five with another standout season.

18. Minnesota Vikings — Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M: Manziel’s a tough one to peg. He doesn’t have great size or an elite arm, and his live-it-up lifestyle might scare some teams away. And yet, if he dominates the SEC for a second straight year, it would be tough to drop him very far. And Minnesota, barring a Christian Ponder breakthrough, could be ready for another change at QB.

19. St. Louis Rams (from Washington Redskins) — Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon: The Oregon defense is easy to overlook because of the dominance of its offense. Should you do so, however, you risk missing Ekpre-Olomu, who picked off four passes and batted down 20 more last season. Even at 5-10, he has lock-down corner potential.

20. Chicago Bears — Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA: Barr, with 13.0 sacks off the edge last season, might be more suited for a 3-4 than Chicago’s 4-3. Or he’d be a Von Miller-type for the Bears here. Odds are, in the long run, that Barr might be off the board well before this next April. Also in consideration here: McCarron or Aaron Murray.

21. Indianapolis Colts — Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida: Roberson will have to work to stand out in Florida’s talented secondary. The soon-to-be junior has all the tools to emerge from the shadows, though, and set himself up for a long NFL career.

22. New Orleans Saints — Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU: The nation was introduced to Van Noy when he recorded 3.5 sacks in BYU’s bowl win over San Diego State — part of 9.5 sacks he had in the Cougars’ final three games. The Ziggy Ansah comparisons are inevitable, but Van Noy is more of a linebacker than his former teammate — and he’s also probably more NFL-ready.

23. Baltimore Ravens — Brandon Coleman, WR, Rutgers: Coleman emerged in 2012 with 43 catches and 10 touchdowns. A strong follow-up season for the developing 6-6 receiver would put Coleman on a lot of radars.

24. New York Giants — Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M: Thanks to a 2011 redshirt, Evans, like Manziel, could enter next year’s draft after playing just two college seasons. He should go, too, if he can improve on an 82-catch, 1,105-yard debut. At 6-5, 225, Evans would intrigue any team looking at Coleman.

25. Green Bay Packers — Ed Reynolds, S, Stanford: The Packers finally land their safety in the ball-hawking and intelligent Reynolds, who led the FBS with 301 interception-return yards and three scores last season.

26. Cincinnati Bengals — DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville: Another potential underclassman, I’m guessing Parker would declare for the draft if he and Bridgewater dominated again. Parker stepped up as Louisville’s top option in 2012 (40 catches, 10 TDs) and brings a tantalizing mix of speed and size to the table.

27. Seattle Seahawks — Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon: Lyeria made headlines this offseason by suggesting on Twitter that the Sandy Hook tragedy was a government conspiracy. So, maturity could be an issue. His numbers won’t leap off the page — 25 catches for 392 yards and six scores last season — but Lyeria (6-5, 240) is perfectly built to be an option in a creative offense.

28. New England Patriots — Loucheiz Purifoy, CB, Florida: I wanted to find somewhere to drop Purifoy in this mock, and the Patriots seemed a natural fit. Why? Well, the 6-0 Purifoy has shown the ability to stuff receivers one-on-one … and he’s practicing at wide receiver this offseason, so he can play both ways. A high-end Julian Edelman.

29. Houston Texans — Christian Jones, LB, Florida State: Something tells me Jones, who had 95 tackles last season, will ultimately be picked higher than this. He can get into the backfield, diagnose plays and track down running backs. Jones could develop into the total package.

30. Atlanta Falcons — David Yankey, OT, Stanford: Yankey slid out to tackle from guard for 2012. His NFL future might be back on the interior of the line. Either way, that versatility will only serve to drive up his draft stock. Tennessee’s Antonio Richardson is another tackle to watch.

31. Denver Broncos — Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama: Alabama’s track record of producing defensive backs won’t hurt “Ha Ha” next year. He stepped into a starting role in 2012 and picked off five passes, while showing the ability to play center field or shift down into the box or over slot receivers.

32. San Francisco 49ers — Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State: With Bjoern Werner and Tank Carradine gone, Jernigan should be the star of Florida State’s D-line in 2013. He’s a monster up front and could project to fit multiple defensive schemes.

i only enjoy the way too early mock drafts to see who the top prospects are for next year.  NFL power rankings before a practice has taken place is as useless as a college girl saying no when big ben follows her to the bath room

They talked about this a few months ago, their plan now is that each month holds one major event.

February = Super Bowl
March = Free Agency
April = Combine
May = Draft

a few early prediction and 1 guarantee or your money back:

prediction.  since we love rating qbs here is my early top 5 on how they will do in the pro's:

1. manziel (stud)

2. maccaron (above average)

3. bridewater (average)

4. bortyles (bust)

5. boyd (backup)

Guarantee and heard it here first:

Clowney will be the #1 overall draft pick.  once he goes through the combine and run's a 4.4-4.5 40 and the texans see no qb is worth the #1 overall pick, clowney will be too tough to pass on esp when you can combine him with jj watt.  they will sign a quick fix qb or maybe keep shaub and keenan for another year and go clowney.  and when i brag about this in a few months after all the "draft experts" update their mock drafts just remember that as of now nobody has clowney at #1 and most have him at #5.

told u nick, u need to calm down claiming you were "right":

Mock drafts can be fun, but here’s why you shouldn’t pay too much attention: It was a year ago today that ESPN published Kiper’s first mock draft of 2013, a mock draft that had Damontre Moore as the No. 2 overall pick. Three months later, when the actual draft happened, Moore went No. 81 overall.

the soon to be #1 picks HIGH SCHOOL highlights.

as you can imagine, clowney was an absolute monster not only on defense where he needed to be doubled on every play and was still getting sacks, plus on offense as a fullback where he was probably the fastest guy on the field.  this is awesome

My first mock draft of the year! Enjoy.

TeamPlayer PositionSchoolRationale
1)Houston TexansBlake BortlesQBCentral FloridaNew head coach, new QB, period. Clowney is a monster, we know this, but you need that franchise QB to get you through. There have been a lot of rumblings on the web that O'Brien loves bortles. For now this is my pick
2)St.Louis RamsGreg RobinsonOTAuburnThe OT that is quickly shooting up everyone's boards. I fully expect this pick to be traded, if not, he's insurance for an injured Jake Long and a meddling Rodger Saffold. Good safe pick here. Also between Long & Quinn they have no need for a DE, Clowney drops.
3)Jacksonville JaguarsTeddy BridgewaterQBLouisvilleI'd love to slot Clowney in here, but QB is just too much of a concern. The Jaguars are jumping for joy when this guy falls into their laps. Franchise QB locked in, finally.
4)Cleveland BrownsJohnny ManzielQBTexas A&MCome on, you know if Manziel is there he's going to the Browns, lock it up.
5)Oakland RaidersJadaveon ClowneyDESouth CarolinaThe "Slide" ends, and Clowney is wearing black and silver. Kinda makes sense doesn't it?
6)Atlanta FalconsJake Mathews OTTexas A&MThat line was a train wreck last year, they need some strong young bodies in there. Mathews is a gift to what will be a resurgent Falcons team.  Almost isn't fair.
7)Tampa Bay BuccaneersKhalil MackDE/OLBBuffaloThey need pass rushers, period. Bowers has been a bust, and no one else can generate pressure. With Lovie Smith coming into town, you better believe they want to get after the QB. I also think they stick with Glennon.
8)Minnesota VikingsDerek CarrQBFresno StateDavid Carr's little brother. The Vikings need a signal caller who isn't named Ponder/Cassel/Freeman. Unfortunately they pick a tad too late to get a superior prospect. Carr has the tools to be a great player, but it's also said he could turn into David Carr 2.0, we'll see.
9)Buffalo BillsSammy WatkinsWRClemsonRumors say that Stevie Johnson will be a cap casualty this off season. Bring this monster in to pair up w/ Robert Woods and TJ Graham? This could be good.
10)Detroit LionsMike EvansWRTexas A&MImagine if the Lions had a serviceable WR2 next to Calvin? SICKNESS. This is a monster of a man, him Calvin and Stafford could combine to create something truly memorable and downright nasty.
11)Tennessee TitansAnthony Barr DE/OLBUCLAThe ultimate boom or bust candidate, this former RB lit up the scene playing his first season of defense. The Titans D needs to be able to get to the QB, Barr should help massively.
12)New York GiantsDarqueze DennardCBMichigan StateI struggled with this pick, but decided a corner of this ability can't be skipped. A secondary of Prince, Dennard, Hill, and Rolle is mouth Watering. Who needs a pass rush with that backfield?
13)St.Louis RamsHaHa Clinton-DixSAlabamaTheir safety play was abysmal last year, this guy will be an absolute stud. A good defense gets so much better.
14)Chicago BearsTimmy JerniganDTFlorida StateDid you see that run defense last year? Duh.
15)Pittsburgh SteelersLouis Nix IIINTNotre DameSteelers need to get their defensive swagger back, they've been very good, but they're not the feared D they once were. Getting this mammoth to anchor the middle is a great way to get back to that.
16)Dallas CowboysAaron DonaldDTPittThis is the necessity of all necessities. This defense was downright offensive last year, they need to get better in the middle of that line.
17)Baltimore RavensC.J. MosleyILBAlabamaThere's no way they'll turn down getting a Bama' linebacker at this point. Him and Arthur Brown manning the middle will be a great tandem for years to come.
18)New York JetsEric EbronTENorth CarolinaWhat's a young QB's best friend? A TE, that’s right. I debated going WR here, but I felt that Ebron was just that much better then the next best WR. They need offensive playmakers, this dude is gonna be real good.
19)Miami DolphinsTaylor LewanOTMichiganThey need OL to keep Tannehill off his ass, period.
20)Arizona CardinalsZack MartinOT/GNotre DameThere's a couple of ways they can go here. I think they sure up their already ****ty O-Line and go for the gold this year (they almost got there last year.) I also think they could take a QB to groom behind Palmer, AJ McCarron maybe?
21)Green Bay PackersRa'Shede HagemanDE/DTMinnesotaBJ Raji is heading out the door in free agency, and the D-Line wasn't too spectacular to begin with. Time to restock the cupboard.
22)Philadelphia EaglesKony EalyDE/OLBMizzouConnor Barwin is a nice player, but nothing special.  And Trent Cole is getting long in the tooth, they need pass rushers. People are calling Kony this years JPP, The Eagles add to their pass rush here.
23)Kansas City ChiefsMarqise LeeWRUSCDwayne Bowe has proven to be a good receiver, not a great one, not a true number one. They need more offensive weapons to help spring Jamaal Charles. Lee is an easy pick here.
24)Cincinnati BengalsCyrus KouandjioOT/GAlabamaTheir LT Anthony Collins is a FA, and might not be back. They're also discussing moving Andrew Whitworth to LG, either way they're gonna need more bodies. This guy is a possible future STUD at LT.
25)San Diego ChargersJustin GilbertCBOklahoma St.Did you see this secondary last year? Another easy pick.
26)Cleveland BrownsDavid YankeyG/OTStanfordI was really hoping that this guy would slip to the Giants in 2, but I just don't see it happening. He's a mauler and will be a great interior lineman for many years.
27)New Orleans SaintsDee FordLB/OLBAuburnA Pass Rusher to pair up with Cam Jordan, this D is getting pretty good pretty fast.
28)Carolina PanthersKelvin BenjaminWRFlorida StateAnother painfully easy choice, this dude is 6'5" him and cam will make sweet sweet music.
29)New England PatriotsJace Amaro TETexas TechAnd the rich get richer, This guy is going to be a monster. I have a big man crush on him.

also, i like gilbert ahead of dennard. much bigger playmaker. personally i would take mosely, gilbert, dennard and clinton-dix ahead of nix. otherwise hes the pick. obviously some/most/all wont be there but to me its one of those 5. however, if mike evans is there i really dont think they can pass him up with the ravens salivating for him with the next pick

The Giants pick is really hard to come up with...

They really don't NEED an OT, I think Beatty bounces back and Pugh was GREAT for a rookie on the right side last year. It's all about the interior which I expect them to touch on in FA; CB2 is also not a massive need Hosley and McBride preformed pretty admirably last year, I'd be okay with them as the #2 and #3 corners. LB is always an issue, CJ Mosley wouldn't bother me as the pick at all. Also, there really just isn't any Guards/Centers worth taking that early, nor any RBs obvi. I also think the Giants are 100% set at WR without Nicks, Cruz, Jernnigan, and Randle is a fine stable of WR corps. TE needs to be addressed on a long term scale this year, If his health checks out give me some Jermichael Finley please.

Anyway here's my revised Giants offseason; (salary cap info provided by overthecap.com/calculator/ great tool)

C-Web and Brandon Myers were already cut (Cap Space at 13.4 mm)

Cut Chris Snee (cap space at 19.7 mm)

Cut David Baas (cap space at 21 mm)

Cut Kiwanuka (Cap space at 23.3 mm)

Cut Cullen Jenkins (Cap space at 25.2 mm)

Restructure:

Eli - (Cap Space at 32.3 mm)

Extend:

Antrel Rolle - 4 years 22 million ( tears up old contract and replaces first year w/ a lower cap #) (Cap number 36 mm)

Re-Sign:

Justin Tuck: 2 years 9 million

Jon Beason: 4 years 16 million

Linval Joseph: 5 years 32 million

Jim Cordle (Center), 1 year 645K (vet min)

Trumaine McBride, 2 year 2 million

Spencer Paysinger RFA Tender 1.3mm

Terrell Thomas, 1 year 1 million

Mike Patterson, 2 years 2 million

Cap after ( 13.2 mm)

Free Agent Signings: ( I wont apply cap #'s here because frankly idk how to and I know they can sign guys and sneak em under the cap)

Jermichael Finley (TE,GB), lets say 2 years 8 million

John Asamoah (OG,KC) lets say 5 years 30 mm and change

Evan Dietreich Smith (C, GB) 2 years 7 million

Dexter McCluster (WR/KR, KC) 3 years 9 million

Erin Henderson (LB, MIN) 1 year 1 million

Mario Manningham (WR, SF) 1 year 1 million

Marshall Newhouse (OT, GB) 1 year, vet min

So we'd be going into the draft looking like

QB: Eli, Ryan Nassib

RB: David Wilson, Michael Cox

FB: John Conner

WR: Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, Jerrell Jernigan, Dexter McCluster, Mario Manningham

TE: Jermichael Finley, Adrien Robinson, Larry Donnell

OT: William Beatty, Justin Pugh, James Brewer, Marshall Newhouse

G: John Asamoah,

C:Evan Dietrich-Smith, Jim Cordle

DE: Justin Tuck, JPP, Damontre Moore

DT: Linval Joseph, Jonathan Hankins, Mike Patterson, Marcus Kuhn

LB:Jon Beason, Jacquain Williams, Erin Henderson, Spencer Paysinger, Allen Bradford

CB: Prince Amukamura, Trumaine McBride, Jayron Hosley, Terrell Thomas, Charles James

S:Antrel Rolle, Will Hill, Stevie Brown, Cooper Taylor

I can live with that.

haha nice, now it is offfically draft season on the fourm once josh puts up his 1st mock of the year!  i re-read a lot of (ok all) of our 2012 thread and noticed you put your 1st mock up for the 2012 season the day after the giants/pats super bowl so you're a week behind schedule but with the draft being moved back to may i think we're on the same track.  with that said, well done again i still don't know half of these players let alone project where they will go.  anyway, some of my notes:

- 3 qb's in the top 4 and 4 in the top 10 seem a lot.  i know a lot of teams need qb's, but i dont think a lot of these qbs are that good to be going top 10.  guess we'll know more after the combine how good they are and obviously FA will play a role as well.

- i see how you put clowney at 5 and we all know i think he is going #1, but as you mentioned i think the rams are going to trade their pick to someone looking to trade up and get him if the texans decide to go QB.  i will be very surprised if he falls out of the top 2 unless he has an average showing at the combine which i doubt he will have.  just imagine a dline with watt in the middle and clowney on the edge?  yes a qb is #1, but its not like an andrew luck is out there, i just dont see texans passing that up for frigging blake bortyles.

- i texted the original mel kiper of the draft forum aka danny for some 2014 anaylsis and asked him what players the dolphins should target and who was on his wish list.  he came back with: "top CB Fs or Ss."  way to narrow it down danny.  also he said manziel #1, clowney #3.

- based off your eagles prediction i could definetly see them going OLB/DE (and probably will) but i think their number #1 target will be HAHA clinton-dix so i hope he falls since he was the only saftey in your 1st round!

- where is michael sam?

Hah nice, Michael Sam projected in 3-5, I'd love the Giants to take him as a rotational pas rusher.

so clowney is a mutant as everyone knows.  as reported on the forum weeks ago we all knew clowney was gonna put up a sick 40 time but actually seeing him run a 4.47 40 for someone his size is unreal.  another guy who i complelty forgot about until today is Aaron Donald.  i remember watching him play at pitt and was a monster as well.  not sure if he fits the 3-4 but i would love if eagles could trade up to get this guy.

Manziel and his agent, Erik Burkhardt, declined to discuss how many teams he met with this weekend or which they were, and the executive of the team I just referred to didn’t want to identify his team because it has an established quarterback and didn’t want to drum up controversy in that market. But it’s known from reports in various places that Manziel met with Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Dallas, Tampa Bay and Philadelphia coaches and team officials, and very likely Oakland, this weekend before flying back to Texas late Sunday afternoon.

UH OHHHH

Mock Draft 2.0, Post Opening Free Agency Gold Rush

Houston TexansBlake BortlesQBCentral FloridaNew head coach, new QB, period. Clowney is a monster, we know this, but you need that franchise QB to get you through. There have been a lot of rumblings on the web that O'Brien loves bortles. For now this is my pick
St.Louis RamsGreg RobinsonOTAuburnThe OT that is quickly shooting up everyone's boards. I fully expect this pick to be traded, if not, he's insurance for an injured Jake Long and a meddling Rodger Saffold. Good safe pick here. Also between Long & Quinn they have no need for a DE, Clowney drops.
Jacksonville JaguarsJadaveon ClowneyDESouth CarolinaTheir head coach is the Seahawks former DC, he's seen what you can accomplish with the right late round CB and a near invincible D. He takes Clowney and laughs his way to the bank.
Cleveland BrownsSammy WatkinsWRClemsonJosh Gordon and Watkins? NASTY. Watkins is that much better than any QB and they have another 1st round pick… Stay tuned
Oakland RaidersTeddy BridgewaterQBLouisvilleI want to mock a T here, but I get the feeling that the black hole wants to try Menelik Watson (last years RT) out at LT. With him in place they take what they hope will be the savior of the franchise…. It wont be
Atlanta FalconsKhalil MackDE/OLBBuffaloThey spent a lot of money to improve the interior of their line with Paul Solai and Tyson Jackson. Adding Mack to play opposite Osi will dramatically improve this line even further. Their offensive line could still use some work though.
Tampa Bay BuccaneersAnthony BarrDE/OLBUCLALavonte David and Barr on the field at the same time, count on it. You and I both know Lovie wants his Lbers to be DOMINANT. I think they skip over QB after the McCown signing.
Minnesota VikingsJohnny Manziel QBTexas A&MIf he's still there when they pick they will run as fast as they can to get this card in there.
Buffalo BillsMike EvansWRTexas A&MThey need weapons for EJ Manuel to succeed.  Robert Woods was a good start but they need more. Evans at 6'5" is an absolutely monstrous target. EJ should be pleased
Detroit LionsJustin GilbertCBOklahoma St.With Golden Tate locked up, the need for a WR2 is settled. Instead they try to fix what seems to have been their issue for years, the secondary. Gilbert is going to be an absolute monster.
Tennessee TitansCJ MosleyILBAlabamaThey're switching to a 3-4 and need bodies at the LB'er spots, they get a great talent in Mosley here.
New York GiantsEric EbronTEUNCAny other year I'd say it'd never happen, but theres a new sheriff in town in Ben McAdoo. The TE is a very important piece in the GB offense which McAdoo is likely to replicate as best he can. A stud TE, visions of Shockey dance in my head.
St.Louis RamsHaHa Clinton-DixSAlabamaTheir safety play was abysmal last year, this guy will be an absolute stud. A good defense gets so much better.
Chicago BearsAaron DonaldDTPittDid you see that run defense last year? Duh.
Pittsburgh SteelersTimmy JerniganDTFlorida StateSteelers need to get their defensive swagger back, they've been very good, but they're not the feared D they once were. Getting this mammoth to anchor the middle is a great way to get back to that.
Dallas CowboysLouis Nix IIIDTNotre DameMy god is their defense pathetic, they need this so damn bad.
Baltimore RavensTaylor LewanOTMichiganOher is gone, they need someone to lock down that right side. I doubt Lewan will actually fall this far, someone will happily trade up to grab this mauler.
New York JetsMarqise LeeWRUSCThey added Decker, but that’s not even close to enough. They need more skill players, him and Decker should be a nice combo.
Miami DolphinsZack MartinOTNotre DameThey  over paid Albert, but it was a necessity for them. Now they lock down the other side of their line. They need to keep Tannehill standing, he was sacked too much last year.
Arizona CardinalsRa'Shede HagemanDE/DTMinnesotaThey added Jared Veldheer solidifying their line, and don't forget they drafted Johnathan Cooper last year. Now they go back to defense, this guy is a physical freak. Darnell Dockett is getting old, Hageman can be a very nice replacement.
Green Bay PackersRyan ShazierOLB/DEOhio St.Can you name me another Linebacker on this team besides Clay and AJ? Yeah, me either. Lock it down they need to get stronger on D
Philadelphia EaglesCalvin PryorSLouisvilleThey added Malcom Jenkins, but he's still not a special playor. Pryor has the ability to be a ballhawk and patrol the backfield with confidence. An obvious pick cause Nate Allen blows
Kansas City ChiefsMarqise LeeWRUSCDwayne Bowe has proven to be a good receiver, not a great one, not a true number one. They need more offensive weapons to help spring Jamaal Charles. Lee is an easy pick here.
Cincinnati BengalsDarqueze DennardCBMichigan State.Too much value to pass up at this point. Terrance Newman and Pacman are aging, Leon Hall got hurt, again…. Dre Kirkpatrick is a nice piece, but adding Dennard across for him could make for a nasty nasty secondary
San Diego ChargersKyle FullerCBVirgina TechShooting up draft boards since the combine, this is an easy pick for what was easily one of the worst secondary's in the league last year. Another easy pick
Cleveland BrownsDerek CarrQBFresno StateDavid Carr's little brother. They've been linked to him throughout the off season so far, they get their QB and form easily one of the best WR duos in the league in a single draft… Not bad.
New Orleans SaintsKony EalyDE/OLBMizzou. Another toy for Rob Ryan to play with. The added Byrd and now him…. This D is getting better and better
Carolina PanthersKelvin BenjaminWRFlorida StateAnother painfully easy choice, this dude is 6'5" him and cam will make sweet sweet music.
New England PatriotsJace Amaro TETexas TechAnd the rich get richer, This guy is going to be a monster. I have a big man crush on him.
San Francisco 49ersBradley RobyCBOhio St.Carlos Rogers fell off a cliff and Tramaine Brock can't cover two people. He's a little raw, but under Harbaugh could turn into something very special.

jernegan over nix? damn.

i dont disagree that would be the fastest way to improve our defense since we could lineup heyward-nix/jernigan-mcclendon. im still hoping for a CB thou.

very good. i still think texans take clowney #1 overall even though most experts have them taking a qb and now have bortlyes in that spot (SMH).

i would love if eagles got pyror and i agree, if one of those safteys falls to them eagles will draft either of them even with the addition of jenkins.

u put marquise lee twice (jets and chiefs) i'm pretty sure 2 teams can't draft the same player unless they changed the rules this year.  i think you meant the kid from oregon state, i heard he could be the 3rd wr taken even ahead of lee.

Look at that, I somehow skipped the chiefs. Changes things up a bit, I'd move Odell Beckham to the Chiefs and have to give the broncos some thought... Too lazy, will be fixed in 3.0

this is great, i actually remember some of these like when mel kiper said mike williams (lions) was the best player in the draft and a future hall of fame worthy player.  this was when mike williams missed the year before due to delcaring for the draft as a sophmore and the whole marice clarrett lawsuit thing but anyway i specifically remember mel arguing with merryil hodge where mel said he was the best player in the draft and hodge said he was a small TE and that was when mel was getting pissed and uped the ante and said something like "you'll see, one day i will be going to his HOF ceremoy" haha

http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/10-biggest-draft-expert-misses-in-nfl-history.html

we got at least 3 years of doing these draft predictions maybe we can include our greatest misses in a post like when danny said brandon weedon was going to be a good QB and when nick said that thing about bla..nevermind... but u get the point.

would this be the best thing to happen for the eagles or the worst?

Cowboys could pounce on Manziel

ManzielGetty Images

From the moment the Joneses who own the Cowboys started gushing about Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, we began to pay attention to the possibility that the Cowboys would be inclined to add the potential franchise quarterback a year after giving Tony Romo a franchise quarterback contract.

Ed Werder of ESPN fuels that notion, explaining on SportsCenter that, if Manziel falls to No. 16, the Cowboys could take him.

Let’s take a step farther. We think that, if Manziel slides past the Vikings at No. 8, the Cowboys could be inclined to trade up to get Manziel. In 20 of 25 drafts, Jerry Jones has made a move with a first-round pick. This year, moving up for Manziel could give the Cowboys the kind of offseason shakeup they surely covet.

Said Werder on the air, “Jerry Jones was raving about [Manziel] this weekend . . . in front of Romo.”

"In 20 of 25 drafts, Jerry Jones has made a move with a first-round pick."

thats ridiculous. considering it would cause a huge QB controvery and romo is already fragile under pressure plus manziel will suck this is def a good thing for the iggles. im on record saying i hope the browns take him at 4 but it doesnt look like its gonna happen

although i would not want to see manziel in dallas (mainily because i like the guy) this was more of a joke, it would not benefit dallas at all for at least 2-3 years and would even hurt them short term.  they would have to trade up to get him meaning less draft picks in later rounds, and for a team that just let go of half their d because they didnt have enough salary cap space its not a good idea to not have any depth by giving away their low round rookie draft pics.

the only way this move makes sense is if they are desperate to get rid of romo's cap # (1 year after signing a huge extension) and they would cut romo after next year n they would suck for a year or 2 after that (or more) and have manziel be the future.  with that said, manziel is not getting out of the top 10, and maybe not even the top 5, so no chance dallas gets him.

looks like fans arent the only ones who hate the draft being pushed back.  this move back fired on the NFL (who probably doesnt care) and hopefully its just a 1 year thing...

(PFT) No one likes the lull. Also, agents don’t like the fact that teams have more times to ask players to engage in private workouts. Teams don’t like having more time to evaluate and obsess and think and re-think.

As one G.M. said via text on Wednesday night, “Remind me again why the draft is not tomorrow? Is it so we can see another two weeks of mock drafts?”

We’ve yet to hear from anyone who likes the two-week delay, and the extended vacuum that it creates in the offseason.

What happened to the "event every month" thing. April has been a total snooze fest. 4 days is absurdity. 3 is fine, though I do miss the day of all 7 rounds on one saturday (or was it 3 on sat 4 on sun? i don't remember).

I loved being outside drinking for tiger-fest, poking my head into the living room every couple of minutes to check in on the draft. Really couldn't ask for a better day.

easily, probably #1 for me.  the only other day that came close as far as college events was homecoming.

we had at least 3 tigerfest together the 1st one i remember was sophmore year in west when for some reason we went HAM the night before n then were too hungover to go to tigerfest right away so we just sat and watched the draft as kearns sat there and drank his bartons/gaterade mix and knew less and less about any of the players as he got more drunk and the draft moved along.

and then junior year in the village we were playing pong in our room and then danny got all pissed cuz he wanted the dolphins to draft brady quinn aka "cepts" but they instead went with punt returner ted ginn jr.  later that night delano sprayed a girl with a fire extinguisher and then we got high as **** and we (nick) shaved kearns head the day before he was supposed to have breakfast with his parents.  we were high as **** and i never laughed so hard in my life (danny also did a photo essay of this day somewhere on the forum that was great).

and finally senior year was when joe fricione came down and was wrecking havoc.  he got so drunk he passed out on the floor of dd/megans place n they knew he was going to piss himself so they put trash bags on the ground under him and yup 15 minutes later hes pissing himself.  megan then gave him a weggie so bad it ripped his boxers in half.  the next morn he walked into my room still drunk pounding his chest and asking why kearns stole his girl from him (megan) haha that was great.

i think they was one more time at fairmont ave that we had a decent turn out but i dont really remember that day all that well to be honest haha.  i think mandy was involved tho

Personally I think he winds up being the best QB of the draft...

Dark horse team to pick him? Arizona Cardinals.... I can't think of a better situation for him, sit a year or two behind Carson learning Arians offense. Put it on the boarddddddddd
