Josh Gordon hearing is Friday. Mort recently: JG may win on technicality. JG now hires same attorney that won Richard Sherman's 2012 appeal.

HOLD ONTO YOUR BUTTS I MAY STILL HAVE MY KEEPER!!!

here we go, the 2nd hand smoke excuse!  wouldn't be such a bad idea, if you know, he wasn't arrested again a few months later with weed in the car and then entered rehab.

with that said, I am not stating that I don't think (or want) him to win his appeal, I just doubt he failed his test due to 2nd hand smoke

even if he is suspended, it might not be a bad idea to keep him just for year 3 which would be $24.  wait why am I telling you this?

The thought had crossed my mind, I also began to wonder how many game suspension I'm willing to live with and keep him at that price. Friday can't get here fast enough.

does this relate to anyone? (peter king)

I think one of the most interesting things I’ve heard in Week 1 of the camp trip is the undue pressure some players and coaches feel from big-money fantasy-football players. I had one coach tell me there’s so much money in some of these fantasy-football playoff pools that people who used to gamble with bookies illegally are now gambling in high-stakes fantasy-football leagues, which is not illegal.  The NFL has its antennae up over this, and it’ll be interesting to see if the pressure escalates to more serious threats on players or coaches.

looks good.  tell your boy I removed the old owner and sent him an email invite to replace him.  he is going to take over purple camletoe and tell him to adjust the team name/settings and he should be all set.

I will send an email out probably next week with some updates and then we will figure out a draft date/time

I did go back on look and he did end the season on the roster, I just don't remember how he got there

Then I went to my team, my transactions, and how much I picked him up for (I later traded him to Joe). You can also go back and look at the entire draft

sounds like a good idea but I think the chances of that happening are very slim.

no chance brajer or fricione can make it so it would have to be online anyway and I don't know of a spot where 10 people can hook up their computers and do a draft and with it being wedding season I will almost guarantee someone will have a wedding every Saturday in august so they wouldn't be able to make it. best idea is doing it at kearns house aka the monster, soi ill talk to people and see but its a slim chance.

Just putting it out in the Universe, see if it could happen, could turn into a great reunion weekend.

FYI August 29- September 2nd I'm (and new guys Mike actually) unavailable. Unless there is literally no other day then I might possibly be able to make one of those days work

If we're absolutely 100% desperate for a day, I can possibly make 9/2 work. I'll be on a plane but I can buy WiFi i suppose... Just not sure how that connection will be.

best thing I can think of is making the 1st round everyones keep and nobody is a lot to bid on them.  I can manage it so I will hold up the draft or not allow somebody to bid that person up. now I just need the other 11 people to cooperate...

so here is where we are at with this:

every day from Thursday August 21st - Tuesday September 2nd somebody can't make it.

everyone other than your boy can make Wednesday the 3rd but your boy said not til 10pm.  While I would prefer to do it around 830ish I can do 10pm but not sure if other people can, I haven't asked yet.  To be honest, with the drafting starting at 10pm it could easily go til 1230-1am and I am not sure how happy people are going to be with that, esp if people have to wake up for work the next day at 6-7am.

with that said, here are our 2 options if people complain that 10pm is too late:

1. do it sometime before the 21st and risk players getting hurt in the 3rd preseason game where typically starters play the entire 1st half.

2. have your boy find someone to help him draft for an hour until he can make it.

3. tell your boy that we have to replace him for a year if he can't do the draft before 10pm (goal would be 830-9ish).  I understand you would be upset by this but remember the other 10 people in the league probably don't care who the 12th man is as long as that person is competent.

Your thoughts?

Hope that people don't mind the 10pm, and then go from there once it's asked.

Also damn the risk and do the 21st. Plenty of people have a single day that they can't do but everyone else can. No special treatment for anyone, do the 21st and deal with. I understand he's the new guy but why can't Kearns have the same find someone else to draft for you ultimatum? This isn't fun for anyone, the most fair option is the 21st in my eyes.

ill ask everyone if 10pm works on the 3rd, but lets be serious here, making accommodations for someone we've been boys with since college and has been in our league since day 1 and working around somebody's schedule who we never met and is brand new is 2 completely different things.

the draft is the most enjoyable day for everyone fantasy wise so I don't want people complaining that it was ruined for them cuz they were up til 1am picking players and then rushed it and were annoyed the whole time for it.  also, if we do the 21st and then a starting RB blows out his acl the next day in the preseason game it ruins things a little (I remember mojo got hurt a few years ago and was out for a month or so), but again ill ask people and see how they feel about that idea.  I get that its your boy and all but I'd rather look out for the 10 ppl who have been doing this with us the past 7 years then someone who hasn't if you get where I'm coming from.

so heres the real question... are we announcing out keepers before the draft or is it the first round of picks, as a surprise? could be big in planning and also strategy

Thats intriguing, I mostly know everyones keepers so it wouldn't effect me too much.

If Gordon gets off, you know thats what I'm doing.

If not, well, then, I got some thinking to do.

I am gonna tell people the day before the draft who everyones keeper is. I say that because I think the only way we can do the keeper is by making everyones 1st round nomination their keeper and for as many points as they owe him and not let anyone bid on them.  so for that to happen, everyone needs to be at the draft on time (so there is no auto drafting) and paying attention.

speaking of the draft, it's looking like 9/3 is the draft date.  so if that's the case, josh, please make sure your boy can get there NO LATER than 10pm so we can start right away and not have to wait around and ruin the keeper portion of the draft or have it go any later into the night.  let me know if there is anyway he can get to the draft earlier also.

i mean as long as everyone stays hands off in the first round i dont get why we would need to announce it earlier.

i got nervous for a second that the draft really could be next week. im only about half way through preparations and need at least another full week!

do you guys remember what the time limits were for these:

- Nomination Time Limit (30 Seconds)

- Bid Time (30Seconds)

- Bid Reset Time (10 Seconds)

I remember I edited it half way through last years draft and it really picked up

how can mouth keep montee ball when i dropped him in the playoffs? that was part of his later year roster rebuild when we told him there was no point picking up julio and them cause they couldnt keep him. i even thought josh had him. good luck tell him that now thou i gues...

and jorday nelson didnt do much last year to warrent a double price. not sure he would go for $24 in an auction. maybe, but it might be a chance i would be willing to take if i was nickerson.

if im erm i think long and hard about keeping cutler for 6 instead of mathews for 18

how long before forester realizes he has no good keepers and complains haha

bottom line, ppl didnt take advantage of the keeper scenario. i kept marcus lattimore on my IR spot ALL SEASON in case he broke out this summer i could have kept him for 2. crabtree, stacey and ultimately alshon.

fish i gotta admit, you didnt have many other choices than maclin. better hope it works out (right now it looks like it will)
