nice!  and yes I agree on that title of this group as well, last year was awful.  I have an interesting choice to make, hopkins at $24 which is a good discount for a WR of his caliber or ryan Mathews at $12 which is a great price for a starting RB.

I know who I'd take of those 2 without even a thought. But I ain't saying ****.

Annual keeper guesses!

Nickerson: Lamar Miller $36 (no other options IMO)

Forster: Jordy Nelson $4 (grumble)

Mouth: Doug Baldwin $18 (not a bad value, wouldn't be surprised to see him keep no one)

Paul: Tyler Eifert $2 (Yeah I think he skips over Kelvin and keeps him instead)

Mike Red: David Johnson $6 (awesome value)

Danny: Jay Ajayi $2 (makes too much sence)

Mikey: Devonta Freeman $8 (another solid value)

Kearns: Carson Palmer $2 (he loves old man strength)

Me: Duh

Nick: Le'Veon $54 (basically market value)

Fish: Lets see what you pick

Erm: No keeper

much better keeper selections then last year IMO

hmm i actually like a few of those option. maclin, j brown and bell are the frontrunners but demaro for 146 looks like a steal as well.

I can keep two (one of which will be David Johnson for obvious reasons)
David Johnson in the 11th
Carson Palmer in the 13th
Latavius Murray in the 11th
Matt Jones in the 9th
What say you my friends?

so what do you guys think we should do about the whole danny not drafting thing?  should I try to find a date for next week, which has been a pain in the ass, or basically screw danny and keep it for Monday night?  remember, idk how a computer autodrafting is going to effect the draft either so let me know what you guys think.

IMO Mikey said the entirety of next week is out for him, so not only would we still have a man down autodrafting we'd be doing it super early

Unfortunately for Danny I think the 22nd is the best bet, seriously if he's going to be on a plane, tell him to get the in plane WiFi, or have him have someone do it for him, simple as him putting a MAX $$ on players and letting someone go at it... Mikey did it with his brother once if you remember

ugh i feel like as the person who is responsible for nixing the best week for the draft i should be the one who misses out if everyone else can do it that week. but id really prefer not to autodraft especially with $125 buy in. like im sure no one else would.

should we offer up 2 keepers to the player who allows the draft to happen during a day they cant make it?

IMO its kind ****ed up to make danny autodraft when he gave us literally one day he cant do it and mikey gave a weekend, paul and entire week and me 10 days... if he can do it on the plane thou thatd be best.

you haven't done your research yet?  just kidding, I agree as well it is too soon, even Monday.  I just feel bad for screwing over danny which is what is probably going to happen.

i should have wifi in barcelona when im there 9/4-9/7. games start 9/8. but the problem is its a 6 hour difference. so anything at night would be early morning (9pm for you guys would be 3 am for me).

now this includes labor day so if we could do it on labor day monday -- even at like 6:30 pm MD time I could prolly swing it at 1am there.

So I joined a Dynasty league this year and we had our inaugural draft last night, kind of mixed feelings...

QB: Romo / Paxton Lynch/ Jimmy Garrappolo
RB:Gurley/ LeSean/CJ/Chris Ivory/Christine Michael/Andre Williams/Zach Zenner
WR:Odell/Sammy Watkins/Malcom Mitchell/Leonte Caroo
TE: Eric Ebron

Remember I have all of these guys for the rest of time basically, so in theory I'm running Romo out this year with the theory of Paxton/Garrappolo eventually taking over

Dynasty is already a lot of fun

haha id bet you'd pay a pretty penny for odell in dynasty.

i like dynasty leagues, although if you screw up the opening draft ur hurting, but you dont (really) draft every year so like i said before it takes one of the best parts out of it. i was actually gonna say since were having such a hard time finding a draft date we could switch to dynasty but theres still a small draft every year and the bitching would be of epic proportions.

team looks solid, mostly young guys which is key.

The way this one is running every year we have a 3 round rookie draft where any non rostered guy and all incoming rookies are eligible to be draft. Order determined by inverse of standings. Yeah on a $300 budget i dropped $99 for ODB, but it's .5 PPR so it was a necessity IMO. It's only been a day, but loving it already. Just the concept that I'm "grooming" Paxton Lynch to be my QB of the future is awesome to me.

you're telling me in a dynasty league where you can basically only draft rookies the #2 overall pick wasn't drafted??  he obviously isn't going to play much, if at all, this season, but I think once he does hes gonna be a good option down the line.  I'm not as high on lynch, he has better weapons but I doubt he plays much this season and the broncos are more of a running team where the eagles are going to want to throw the ball more, kind of like andy does who is typically 60-40 pass/run.

Snap Team Judgements:

FISH:
Nice Rounded team here for once, i feel like you always blow your load on one guy and then hafta start scrubs. No huge holes here, RB depth is nil, otherwise not bad.

NICK:

Wow, really are all in on those Jags huh? RB is gonna be a bit of a **** show for you till Le'Veon comes back... good luck

ME:
Aside from TE, i'm freaking in love with my team. Depth for Days AND both Odell and Julio? Ugh Rosterbate engage...

FORSTER:
Standard "Forster" team, well rounded, but nothing makes you go DAMN thats one helluva team. He should easily make the playoffs.

DANNY:
Standard Danny RB dumpster diving. Eh.

Kearns
A lot to like here. I'm personally very high on Latavius and you can never go wrong with a trio of Rodgers/Dez/Sammy

Nickerson
I personally hate Jordan Matthews so thats a loss for me, his depth is only eh as well... The rest of his starting lineup is pretty awesome though.

Mikey
Wow, he actually drafted a well rounded team and didn't bid up someone he didn't want, weird.

Paul
I'm not high on Kelvin/Amari so that says a lot about what I think of his team.... I also actually think we'll begin to see the end of AP this year... Not to mention I don't feel especially strong about the Daily Show... not my favorite team

Mouth
No RB 2, lots of odds and ends but hard to see the whole here. Eh not impressed.

New Mike:
Strong RB duo in David Johnson and Freeman, Luck, Demaryius, Mike Evans Fleener .... he put together a VERY strong team here

Erm
He doesn't really have a FLEX.... Matt Jones and Edelman are both hurt, Gordon suspended.... Standard Erm team

yeah I came away from the draft last night and really liked my team.  most people normally do after the draft, but I remember thinking last year I had a lot of risky players and a lot had to go right and a lot didn't go right so I missed the playoffs for the first time in awhile.  after the sam Bradford disaster last year I knew I wanted to go cheap on qb and I like my big ben pick up. pisses me off brady only went for $1, I wanted him and he was like the only pick I didn't pay attention to and missed out on that.

I knew I wanted solid RBs this year, last year I spent a lot on gurley which ended up being a great pick but he didn't play the first 2-3 weeks of the season and didn't even have a 2nd rb until I lucked out with dion lewis.  this year I LOVE my backs, esp hyde.  I'm sure you guys are not as high on him as I am but I honestly think he is a top 5 potential fantasy back this year.  the misconception with chips offense is that he loves to throw the ball all the time but in reality he runs the ball a ton, and he now has a good oline, hyde comes from a similar offense he excelled in at OSU, and he is in that age where RBs tend to break out with this being his 3rd year.  for $20-30 less than AP or gurley I thought I got great value there. I think McCoy bounces back on another team that likes to run the ball in buffalo, and to have another starting rb in Mathews make me feel real solid about them.

as for WRs, maclin and Hopkins are both clearly #1 guys on their team with Hopkins having even more potential to be a top 5 overall WR, so I'm happy with that.  I'm surprised jimmy graham only went for $1.  I know he had a pretty bad injury last year, but the guy was considered the best fantasy TE in the league 2 years ago so he was def worth a flyer and $1.

I will break down some steals/over reaches of the draft next...

haha told u i love the jags this year. julius thomas was unplanned but too good to pass up. TE is fickle so doesnt bother me i have a WR/TE from the same team. otherwise got my guys (bortles, langford, robinson, baldwin and henry) although i was really hoping to get cooper AND robinson for closer to the $62 they went for EACH. that kinda threw my plan off, mostly at 3rd RB (wanted henry as my 4th). so yeah, im kinda ****ed until bell comes back but once the train gets rolling watch out! im really high on langford thou, got the MSU bookends. my bench is pretty weak but ill fix it as we go.

otherwise the low price keepers make it obvious how big of a head start you get. odb AND julio? unheard of. david johnson was another crime at $2 or whatever. i gotta start thinking of my keepers now!

after re-looking at the value guys went for, here are some notes:

steals/great value picks (non keeper of course):

dez Bryant.  Went for $53 which was the cheapest out of all the elite level WRs.  With romo back I think he can put up big numbers again.

demaryuis Thomas.  I get the qb issue might become a big deal, but he only went for $21, I mean this was a top 3 WR not too long ago and it's not like he got hurt or old or anything.

forte.  $21, he was a top 5-10 RB for a lot of last year wasn't he?

demarco murray. I know he had a horrible year last season but the offense was clearly a bad fit for him. but for $11 that's not bad at all to get the rushing champ and offensive player of the year 2 years ago who is going to be on a run heavy team with mariota at qb.

- jermey hill $19.  don't love him but i don't think hes worth 3-4x less than other starting rbs.

- tyler eifert $2.  i know he got hurt in the pro bowl, but how long is he out for?

- tom brady $1. don't get me started on this

- ty Hilton.  love him this year with luck being back.  i really wanted him but after going hard at RB's i knew i wouldn't have enough but $46 is a fair price and i think he's gonna have a big year.

- deAngelo Williams $2.  this is a top 5-10 rb for the first 3 weeks of the year and with some guys not having a starting 2nd rb/flex to start the year I'm shocked he didn't go for more.

torrey smith:  once again, maybe i have too much faith in chip still, but he is the kind of guy who fits perfectly in his offense. just a speed WR who will stretch the field and i guarantee he is going to have a few huge games this season kinda like desean did 3 years ago with the eagles.

stefon digs $13.  like him and a #1 wr for $13 is solid

Alfred morris.  a veteran behind a rookie but has a lot of potential.  if Elliot gets hurt or struggles morris will be a very solid fantasy rb to have esp behind that oline.

- markus wheaton $4.  2nd WR on one of the best passing offenses in the nfl, has great potential here.

- chris Johnson $1.  he was the #1 rb in fantasy at some points last season.

ehhh:

- devonta freeman.  $45 isn't horrible, but I don't think hes gonna have as good a year as he did last year but we'll see.

- matt jones for $16.  everything i am hearing is skins are not happy with him this camp and doesn't look great.  plus i also think hes injured.

- allen robinson.  sorry nick $62 for him is way too much IMO or maybe i am just really not buying the jags hype and it is effecting my judgment on them.

- coby fleener.  I def get why he went for more than most people thought, because bresse loves his TEs and makes them huge in fantasy.  first it was jimmy gramhan and then Watson last year, so fleener has the possibility of doing the same.  however, when studs like olson or Jordan reed are going for $2-3 more than i have to say fleener went for way too much here.

- tajae sharpe $9.  literally never heard of him, not even in the NFL draft or all the coverage leading up to it.  titans are not going to be a passing team and he is a rookie behind guys like rishard Mathews, andre Johnson, harry douglas and maybe even kendall wright and Justin hunter

- martellus Bennett. $12 for a 2nd TE is too much.  i understand its the pats and they will use him better than most teams but he is not a starting fantasy te esp with brady being out 4 games.

- dio lewis $9.  is he really stash worthy for half the season?

- tim tebow??? not sure what the point/joke was behind that but i guess it was funny.  romo and cousins also went for $1 so not sure what braj is doing here.

I asked braj what his thought process was with this and he said:

"My last fantasy sports draft pick as a single man.  I had to go out with a bang."

hahaha

2 guys on fishs steal list and one on his ehhh list? Ill take it!

not sure why we get surprised for how much some guys go when it happens EVERY year. coby fleener was ridiculous and i feel like it got to the point of a joke. I agree with most of your list with the exception of torrey smith and bennett. smith is a scrub and Id gladly pay 12 for aaron hernandez back in the day. I thought abdullah went for a ridiculous price that made me laugh. honestly, in the end i dont think it matters much how much you pay for the guys thou. breakouts, injuries and a little bit of luck go longer for someone like matt jones than paying less than $16 for him.

as for robinson, he was the #4 WR in all of fantasy last year ahead of ODB, AJ green, hopkins and obviously everyone else. he was 5th in yards and first in TDs. sorry youre not a fan but the dude is a stud and that offense is one of the best in the league.

I like him a lot. they loved him last year but broke his foot and missed the whole season. the best thing is he will constantly be on the field whether its wheaton, bryant or coates as the #2 because he plays exclusively in the slot and those guys exclusively outside. the only other player they would even consider is wheaton and not until bryant gets back, but wheaton is gone after this season. he played 69% of the snaps on monday and i dont see that going down. and anyone on that offense is gonna do work.

i was ecstatic to score him before they played because i would have dropped at least 20 on him last night.

also, i dont like that trade for kearns at all. with keenan allen out (woodhead as pass catching RB) and mccown in for RG3 (boosts dukes stock) i honestly think you got the best 2 players in the whole deal and obviously rodgers isnt even close. and you can only play 1 QB a week. dont know what kearns was thinking.

yeah I'm not sure what is going on with kearns anymore.  he use to be one of the better fantasy players in our league and now he barley makes the playoffs at best.  one year he drafted breese and brady with like 50% of his budget and that killed him, last year he went all rookie rbs and that killed him and now this year he again has one of the worst teams in the league and then trades Arod SMH.  nick, I guess leaving riverside was the worst thing that happen that happened to him football wise since he clearly doesn't watch anymore!

Riverside required a football knowledge rating of at least 89, I guess the monster doesn't hold its residents to such high standards.

Obviously, motz was the outlier.

its amazing to me that kearns still lives there, 6 years in fed with over 4 of them being at the monster.  the last time I lived in one place for more than 4 years was when I was in HS living at home with my parents!

The his credit it's a pretty sweet place and a great deal. Plus Kearns hates change. Prolly why he drafts/trades for the same fantasy players every year

Kind of screwed in my other League QB wise, stuck w/ Tyrod and Mariota

Was offered Derek Carr for my Legarrette Blount

My Current RBS: David Johnson, Latavius Murray, Rashad Jennings, Charles Sims, Isaiah Crowell, LeGarrette Blount

Pull the trigger?

I also have another trade floating out there of Tyrod and Crow for Stafford

What do you gents think

i much much prefer the stafford one. i also like carr alot but man blount was the bell cow back last week against ARZ. however, hes buried on your depth chart and like fish said its hard to trust pats RBs so I would probably take your side of either deal based on everything.

id also drop mariota for osweiler so if hes on the ww id pick him up and sit tight.

yeah its not going too well for me this year. my team hasnt been putting up points but things like brady coming back my week and adam vineteri putting up 25 doesnt help!

Congrats Goodell Did Harambe, you've won the Unreal Combinations trophy presented by Tostitos! Like chips and salsa, Tom Brady and Adam Vinatieri worked well together and combined for 52 points, the most by any two starters in Show Me Your TD's this week.

good news is only one team has 1 loss. bad news it i dont know whether my team can turn it around.
