i was thinking that too, but then that would eliminate the real bold predictions and i dont want to lost that factor. for example, the chance of the eagles trading up to select a certain player has a very small chance of actually happening, so i dont want someone determining how many points i have on the line.
ur idea could work if we do not subtract any points for wrong picks or if some1 gives the value of the pick based off how risky they think it is (higher points the more risky)
well figure it out, but im out for the weekend let me know if ur coming down this weekend!
nick, its a game for fun with no money on the line. just go with it and have fun or dont do it, i wanna do this so the draft will be even more fun and we can look forward to more than just our 1 teams pick the entire night, and not turn it into an arugment

this coming from the guy who didnt want to do a mock draft to begin with, the "stupid fantasy playoff game" or even a free march madness bracket
and guess what? i didnt do it! but whatever im really not trying to start an arugment, i thoguht this was a fun/creative way to do something we can try out. if it is stupid then blame me but i think it has good potential

i meant to say "i didnt do the games i didnt wanna do"
but the way to do it is have the other 2 ppl rank ur 5 bold predictions and each prediction gets a number of points based on rank. so if you get your most obvious predicition (#5) right you get 20 points, second most obvious (#4) gets 40 points, third most gets 60 points fourth most gets 80 points and the most boldest of predictions gets 100 points if it comes true
Like I said, a bold prediction game is too hard to score, unlike my mock draft game. Lets just do the Bold predictions for respect, and the mock game we can do for points and see who wins.

Ok, I'll start this game off Fish. Let's all make a total of 5 bold predictions, due before the draft.
I only have two to start, my other 3 will follow soon.
1. 4 QBs will be taken in the first round. 2. Colin Kaepernick will be a first round selection.
First off, yes I know its 2AM, but I can't sleep so I'm going to post my remaining Bold Predictions. I have a few changes, but here are my final 5.
1. 2011 NFL Draft will set the record for the most QBs taken in the 1st round. With a new rookie wage scale about to take place, there will not be as much penalty for drafting a QB in the 1st.
2. Colin Kaepernick will be a first round selection. (From original Bold Predictions, you ****s remember this!)
3. Only 2 WRs are taken in the 1st round; AJ Green, Julio Jones. Both will be taken in the top 17.
4. Blaine Gabbert is not drafted in the top 6 players. (This should definetly be a BOLD prediction according to Nick!)
5. The Seattle Seahawks trade up to draft a......QUARTERBACK.
I don't think anyone can argue that these are all BOLD predictions. Mock draft coming soon, call the Associated Press, this is going to be historic.

danny, if 1 of mine for our game MIGHT be the dolphins will not draft a qb at all in this draft, would that count as a bold prediction?
I will allow it, but it is a little weak.

Very suprised, especially with Pennington likely hanging up the boots, and Thigpen very likely could be in his last year with the team.

just found kings mock draft. he has the 9ers trading with the texans. i think the cards trade with the texans to jump above the 9ers to take peterson who the 9ers want. 49ers take gabbert instead
BOLD PREDICTION: Arizona Cardinals trade the #5 pick to the Houston Texans who select Patrick Peterson. 49ers (who want Peterson) take QB Blaine Gabbart at #7.
I realize that this is 2 bold predictions but i like to make my predictions bold, unlike you clowns who say "Dolphins wont take a QB"
and the dolphins not drafting one is not an offical pick, i will post mines on thursday. i forgot pennigton got hurt so there def drafting one at least as a backup i now think
#1 - I thought you said you dont think mallet will be that good and no one will take him because of his character issues and you dont take a QB with character issues haha. ive been high on mallet the whole time and him going in the top-10 likely to the reskins will not surprise me. I'll give you this one
#2 - I think they will draft Jimmy Smith and thats where I have him in my mock draft. CB is by far the eagles biggest position of need. hardly bold
#3 - The Phins dont have a second round pick so unless they take a QB in the first round it will be correct. this is not bold
#4 - I'm trying to find where i posted that ingram wont even be a first round pick. I think they only team that might take him are the packers. this has been said before, not bold
these are supposed to be things that are 1/1000 chance of happening, not something that people are already saying will happen. So far my two predictions have been that a single team will trade with another single other team and even listed the players that both teams will take. the chances of that happening are small because it has to hit on 4 seperate and very unlikely events.
maybe im being to critical cause we have always said it will be hard to tell whats bold and whats not, but things that will be reflected in other peoples mock drafts and not listed as bold predictions by them arent really bold. i guess well let danny decide if these qualify
danny, if 1 of mine for our game MIGHT be the dolphins will not draft a qb at all in this draft, would that count as a bold prediction?
I will allow it, but it is a little weak.
so if saying that they wont draft a QB at all is a little weak, what does changing it to say that they wont draft a QB with their first pick (they dont have a second) qualify as?

ur being very critical considering this is all for fun and im not trying to nail 5 picks with .001% chance of happening. i think the powerball has better odds haha. anyway, let me clarify the rules slightly so were not arguing the whole time about who is more bold. for 1, these picks dont have to be something nobody is saying, theres 10,000 sport writers out there with mock drafts and even more rumors. so no matter what pick we make i guarentee there is somebody out there who has said it already. i think for this to count it has to go aganist conventional wisdom, (such as von miller will be a top 5 pick) or something that most people don't see coming. also i threw the jimmy smith out there cuz 1 of our picks is suppose to be who u think ur team is gonna draft. plus i think if u nail a team picking in the mid 20's thats pretty impressive. that said:
1. just cuz i said i wouldnt pick mallet that doesnt mean another team will. plus things change daily so something i said 2 weeks ago doesnt always apply today. mel kiper has him rated #71 on his big board, and even less ppl think hes gonna be in a top 10, so i def think this is a bold pick.
2. i explained this early. plus i threw in brooks reed, try finding me 5 ppl with him as there pick
3. last time i checked ur still allowed to trade for picks, so just cuz the phins dont have a 2nd rounder this second doesnt mean they wont come draft time. if u look at every mock draft 75% of them have the phins taking a qb. if u think my jimmy smith pick doesnt count cuz CB is there biggest need, then how would this not apply?
4. once again, just cuz 1 person said a few weeks ago he might not be a 1st doesnt mean that its true. he is the #1 rated rb on most scouting reports so i think if he doesnt go first most people would be pretty surprised.
i hope i explained this a little better for anyone who wants to play along
BOLD PREDICTION #5: I will get only 1 of these right (and it might be this one)
No, no, and more no. Make a real prediction jack wagon.

as for #4, a dolphins fan said himself he would be "very surprised" if the phins didnt draft a qb. i think saying they wont draft one early should count as a bold pick but thats just IMO
#1 : Arizona Cardinals trade the #5 pick to the Houston Texans who select Patrick Peterson. 49ers (who want Peterson) take QB Blaine Gabbart at #7.
#2 : A team in the top-5 will trade back into the first round with a team in the bottom-5 and select a quarterback. This team will either be the Cardinals, Bengals or Bills.
#3 : Da'Quan Bowers, previously ranked #1 overall will not be selected in the top-15. The Bucs will select him at #20
#4 : The Miami Dolphins will draft Ryan Williams, RB VTech, in the 3rd round (good pick Dolphins!)
#5 : IF the Steelers select a CB in round 1 it will be Ras-I Dowling from UVA. If they do not select Dowling they will not select a CB in round 1.
I concur, good picks Nick. I was thinking the same thing for the Phins with Williams from Tech, just don't think he will be available in round 3, i think he goes anywhere from mid 2nd - early 3rd.

1. The Bengals will trade back into the end of the first round for a QB 2.The Cardinals will draft a defensive player with their 5th overall pick 3. Julio Jones will be gone by the time the Rams pick. 4.The Patriots will wind up drafting Mark Ingram at some point. 5.Jimmy Smith will be gone before the 20th pick.
Nick, I've had mine posted for 2 weeks now. Go back and check.
