Let me preface this by taking a moment to bask in the glory of my week 12 picks. I ended up going 14/16 with my 2 losses coming on a last second made FG by Matt Bryant, and a last second missed FG by John Kasay.

Despite what Fish may think, I make my picks based on who I believe will win the game that week. It has nothing to do with picking against the Eagles/Dolphins or Giants to spite anyone on the board and I was 5/5 in picking games that include teams we favor. The Bears are becoming a strong team with a great defense and a QB who will kill you if you let him. No shame in losing to the Bears, but CAN I GET SOME PROPS ON CALLING THE UPSET?

Moving on to this week...

Texans @ Eagles

Was anyone else as excited as I was for last nights Sound FX considering Andre Johnson was mic'ed up for his one sided bout with Cortland Finnegan? Was anyone else as dissapointed as I was with the outcome? Sure they gave us a couple good plays and Andre complaining about Finnigans obvious hands to the face, but they had to have been so much more leading up to that fight than what they showed.

The show leads me to believe that Andre didnt beat up Finnegan because he aspires to be the "dirtiest player in the league," but because of that god awful Pauly D blowout Finnegan was sporting. Its either that, or Andres punches landed so hard his hair went from a slicked back pony tail to that of a troll doll. Either way, Dre landed a couple right hooks to the back of Finnegans head that would probably leave Kimbo confused as to where he was. Of all the players in the league why would you pick a fight with 6-3 225 pound Andre the Giant? Heres an idea, move Johnson to the defensive side of the ball. This would instantly make the Texans D tougher and more scary.

As cool as the fight was, is a $25,000 fine really enough? James Harrison has been fined 3 times that amount for a hit that took place between the whistles. I know I speak on it alot, but I still cant believe the way Godell is going after Harrison with these fines. The hit on Fitzpatrick last week was a textbook tackle. The ref had already reached for his flag before Harrison even touched him. I guess the league wants Harrison to turn around and make tackles with his rear, the same way Godell does...

Onto tonights game.

The best news for the Eagles and their crazy fans is that Asante Samuel is making his return tonight. A big part of Cutlers great game (4 TD passes, no picks) was the swiss cheese secondary. Asante Samuel has been targeted 36 times this season. He has 7 interceptions. That means that 19% of the passes that are thrown his way are picked off. Pretty good numbers for a cover corner. Now if he could only learn how to tackle...

Mike Vick wasn't quite the same against a defense much better than the Redskins last week. Lucky for him the Texans defense resembles the Redskins much more than da Bears. Ranked dead last in pass defense Vick should have no trouble slicing the Texans up.

Not so lucky for the Eagles is the fact that Godell chooses to hand out suspensions only for hits where the receiver is actually wearing his helmet, so Andre Johnson will be present. He may be too physical for Samuel and could present a matchup problem for the Eagles. Arian Foster is good, very good, and you have to wonder if he would still be sitting on the bench had Ben Tate not suffered a pre-season-season-ending inury. Reminds me of a line from a very underrated rapper:

"Why is a brother up North better than Jordan, just ain't get that break?"

This one should be a shootout and the way the Heat are playing, these teams may put up more points than the Miami-Cleveland game tonight. I'm taking the Eagles to bounce back at the Linc.

Nick, let me also give you an in depth analysis of what happened last night.

So Kerri came to my house last night ranking dead last in my power rankings after a pretty stupid fight we previously had. As usual, I told the bobble head to pick up some beer on the way over. Of course, she again buys these purple Baltimore Raven Bud Light's, which is a dead give-a-way to my mom that I have been smushing in her basement.

Once she gets here, I am still a little mad, so I make her watch TV by herself while I browse Best Buy on the Internet for at least an hour. I finally get up and decide to watch TV with her. She was watching "Chelsea Lately", but I quickly turned that **** off and changed it to "Shooting USA" on the Outdoor Channel. I proceeded to watch it for a half hour, despite her bitching and moaning.

After several beers, I told the girl it was time for some sex, so we went to sleep. I always put on a movie, to drown out the animalisitic noises for my family to not hear, so I put in Harold & Kumar. After realizing I was having so much fun watching it, I got up and got another beer, and proceeded to drink it in my bed while I watched most of the movie. She layed there...

When it finally came time to smush, I was hammered drunk. The sex was so good that I thought I was going to come almost immediately, so I applied the brakes a little. Bad move. Half an hour later, I'm struggling to come at all. Lets just say I went to bed mad, and this is not good when you have to share a TWIN size bed.

P.S. She appeared a little annoyed with me today.

Damn, way to go out on a limp with your Andre Johnson prediction. Saying he could have a big game is like saying I think Motz might black out at some point this weekend.

1. i said johnson would have a big game but it wouldnt impact the game, which is pretty much wat happened.  he coulda have had a huge game and won because of him and i woulda been dead wrong

Who wants to bet the Eagles win this game? Just playing it happened last night and the Eagles DID win the game. Makes for easier scoring on Tuesday.

Jaguars @ Titans

To be honest, Im not sure on this one. Both teams are so up and down and anytime you play a division game its harder to pick a winner anyways. If Rusty Smith is starting I like the Jags alot more, but with Kerry Collins getting healty you just never know.

Redskins @ Giants

G-Men went down big last week but Eli Manning found a way to trip, slide and faceplant his way to the victory. I have no confidence in picking the Redskins for any game, so by process of elimintation (and because I will almost guarentee they win) Im going with the Giants.

Bears @ Lions

Bears took down the Eagles last week and now face the Drew Stanton led Lions. GIMME!

Bills @ Vikings

**** it, I was 14/16 last week I can go for the upset special. Bills really dont looks like a 2-9 team, and if Fitzpatrick was starting all year theres no way they are. With Brett on his last leg, almost literally, and AP questionable Im taking a flyer here.

Saints @ Bengals

Bengals looked full of triptafan on Thanksgiving night.

49ers @ Packers

Soo the 49ers are 1 game out of first place in the NFC West. You sticking by your theory that they have no shot to win it, Dan? Theyre not a good team, but neither are the Seahawks, Rams or Cardinals. Packers are so they win easy, but is it really fair that the winner of the NFC West gets to host a playoff game over the Saints/Giants/Packers/Bears? I dont think so...

Broncos @ Chiefs

Broncos suck, Chiefs dont.

Browns @ Dolphins

If Colt McCoy plays I think it will be closer than expected, but Phins put a hurtin on da Raiders last week so Ill let it ride.

Raiders @ Chargers

Either the Chargers or the Chiefs need to start losing some of these games to WEAK opponents or a much better team is going to be left out of the AFC playoffs.

Panthers @ Seahawks

"No way the Panthers win. No way." Sound familiar? Well they lost on a FG that Anne Frank could have made. The Seahawks look like complete trash and I refuse to take a team that kneels on the ball when they are losing.

Falcons @ Bucs

There are a lot of factors that determine me picking a winner. For instance, the Falcons are 19-1 at home under Matt Ryan. I went against that fact last week and lost by picking the Packers. Belive it or not the Falcons dont have a winning record on the road under Ryan. The Bucs are improving, but its not enough to overcome the real "best team in the NFC."

Rams @ Cardinals

I dont understand why everyone was giving Derrick Anderson **** for laughing on the sideline. I was laughing too at that piss poor effort the Cards put up on Monday night. Doubt there will be many clips to "put on YouTube" from this game but the Rams win no doubt.

Cowboys @ Colts

Ron Rivera certainly has the blueprint for stopping the Colts offense. For some reason no other DC can duplicate it. Although it would be great for the Steelers if they won, the Boys drop to the Colts at Lucas oil.

Steelers @ Ravens

Seriously, WTF is a "purple out"? The Ravens are encouraging the fans to wear purple and will be handing out purple towels at the game this weekend. Well, for one thing purple is the least intimidating color in the raindow. The Ravens are wearing all black Sunday night so i dont see the correlation, and yellow will stand out nicely against all that purple. But the thing that has me scratching my head is, for all the time ive been a Steelers fan and owned a Terrible Towel, I have never heard one posistive comments from a Ravens fan about it. If Terrible Towels are so "gay" and "ugly" why are you copying them and handing them out? Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Another thing that really grinds my gears- they actually think these purple towels get the same respect as the Terrible Towel? They are handing them out for free while all proceeds from the sale of Terrible Towerls go to a schoold for kids with Lukemia. Absolutely disresectful, and I think (and hope) James Harrision will have a $25,000 statement about that Sunday night.

This, in my opinion, is the biggest inter-division rivalry in all of football. The Jets arent even the Pats biggest rival. And shouldnt a rivalry be built over time between 2 teams that compete against each other at a high level? The Jets have sucked for years and the Pats have dominated that rivalry. The Steelers and Ravens both have Super Bowl rings from the past decade.

The rivalry itself is pretty even, but the Ravens have won several times without Ben in the lineup. Earlier this year they won on a last second TD while Ben was suspended. In the split last year the Ravens won in OT on a interception by Dennis Dixon. Ben is 7-2 vs the Ravens and that trend continues this week! I am SUPER HYPE LETS GOOOOOO

Jets @ Pats

Full disclosure here-- I think the Pats win this game easily. Theres no single receiver that Revis needs to shut down, the Pats distribute the ball wayy to well. The Jets blitz the hell outta you, but the Pats offense thrives on the blitz and quick throws. I think the game will be higher scoring than you may expect, but I see the Pats stopping Sanchize more times than the Jets stop Brazelle.
