B) Matt "Show No Pain" Mittrione vs. Tim Hague

Expand ur MMA knowldge past Brock Lesner and we can talk

Who cares. Once we get two more great heavyweight boxers, MMA will die.

1. brock isnt "washed up" nick. if anything u can say hes not good.  he would smoke that pussy mittrione
2. jim jones vs "the master" bader is gonna be a good fight, i wanna see how jones does vs him.
3. danny, all the heavyweights r doing mma now and not boxing so i wouldnt expect one to just pop out any time soon and bring back the sport.  the only 2 ppl boxing cares about is manny and maywether and they rnt fighting each other and if they dont soon one or both is gonna retire n its gonna b too late.  even if they do, once the fight is over, unless there is a rematch nobody is gonna care and boxing will become irrelvant once again like it is now

im saying there are none right now, and all the upcoming future fighters who one day would become heavyweight boxers r choosing mma instead.  im talking kids/teenagers right now will become the future.  i think there are a lot more ppl training for MMA than boxing right now

Fish, boxers make so much more money than most MMA, other than maybe the top guys. The only boxers that leave for MMA are the ones that suck at boxing.

Boxing has been around for hundreds of years, I doubt the boxing gyms are empty while MMA gyms are flourishing.

boxing is dying, MMA is taking over. fish is right the only fight left is pacquiao vs mayweather and if/when that happens there is nothing else to look forward too

the proof is in the fighters, sponsors, money, etc. like you said boxing has been around for hundreds of years, MMA has been around for a couple decades and UFC only a decade. Its getting more and more popular and soon enough these fights will start generating more revenue than boxing. once that happens boxing will be toast

Yes, there are very few good fighters worth matching up these days, but all I'm saying is boxing is not dying, it's simply idle. You guys are forgetting how incredible it was watching two 260 pound plus athletes pounding each other.

Go watch some Mike Tyons clips, you'll change your mind.

Boxing will be toast? Your crazy.

Nick/Fish, give me the best MMA match-up you can remember?

I dont care who it is, do you think that people would pay more to watch that, or Tyson/Holyfield?

danny ur doing the thing where you constrew things to support your argument again.

what does tyson/holyfield have to do with todays boxers? the fighters in UFC are 100x more popular than any boxers other than mayweather and pacquiao.

lets ask a question that is relevant: who would more people want to see fight:

Shogun Rua vs. Rashad Evans

or

Audley Harrison vs. David Haye

its not even close

So if you could only watch one event between these two who would it be?

2010 - Velazquez/Lesnar
1996- Tyson/Holyfield

Fish, your again missing my argument. I'm saying that because there arent any Tyson's or Holyfield's, MMA is more popular, but once boxing gets another one of these boxers, MMA will die down.

You guys are idiots, I never said boxing is more popular today, I'm agreeing that MMA is more popular, but only because boxing is missing good HEAVYWEIGHT fighters.

no, i think u missed my point entirley.  my point, which nick also said, is mma is expanding while boxing is dieing.  with that said, these kids who are growing up and going to become heavyweights one day will be choosing to train in mma there whole lives and not boxing.  this isnt football or basketball where there gonna consistently get a ton of athletes trying to make it year after year.  theres no guarentee that theres gonna be a big time heavyweight again in boxing, and that is because they are all choosing to do mma instead.  and still, even if they do have 1 big time guy, they need more than that other wise it just becomes a fad.  imagine if boxing had kimbo slice, and they were promoting the hell out of him and every1 got excited.  wat happens once he loses?  all the interest goes back away.  u need to build a brand which is wat the ufc is doing so when 1 guy loses they promote the next guy.  boxer is almost done in my mind

Fish, how the hell do you know kids are choosing MMA over boxing? I'm not going to agree with someone who is just making assumptions.

At one point baseball was more popular than football.

Do I think MLB will ever be more popular than NFL? Probably not.

Do I think boxing will ever be more popular than MMA? Yes.

i dont think you could call the fastest growing sport in america "a fad," but whatever.  and yes i am assuming kids will pick mma over boxing, it is a prediction based off facts such as UFC being the fastest growing sport in america (increase in popularity), the development of MMA camps for kids through out the country and hearing multiple reports from espn/hbo on the decline of boxing.   just like u r predicting pats over jets which is an assumption im not gonna dismiss ur pick and say "I'm not going to agree with someone who is just making assumptions."

Not the same thing, but ok whatever. If you don't agree with my pick, then you dismiss it, it's not science Fish.

All I'm saying it that people always prefer boxing over MMA, granted the level of competition is high. Right now, the level of competition in boxing is VERY low, and interest has decreased, thus opening the door for a sport like MMA. I even remember Dana White talking about how lucky he was to start UFC right as boxing lost it's stars.

What are the best MMA fights? The ones that both fighters stand up and box each other out, not go to the ground. What are the best ending for MMA? Knock outs.

All I'm saying.

i think u made our point.  a sport that was #1 a long time ago (baseball) lost some interest and will almost never again regain that top spot to a fast growing sport (nfl).  like baseball, boxing lost a lot of its popularity to a competitor and will most likely never get it back.  even if 2 great heavyweights come about, thats all u got is 1 good fight.  i call it a fad because a fad is something u only have interest in for a small amount of time, for example if mayweather fought manny.  then boxing would have a lot of interest but after it was over nobody would care.  in ufc there is a pay per view every month and i bet more ppl watch those every month than boxing.  there is probably less than 3 pay per views a year that ppl have to watch in boxing.

Fish, agree to disagree. We both are speculating on the future of a sport. Right now MMA is more popular than boxing, I very much enjoy MMA fights. I do however, MUCH prefer a good boxing match over an MMA fight.

mma> boxing... when the only 2 big names you have wont fight eachother bc one nigga is scared to fight a rice ball you know its over.

they did a top 100 ufc list and the #1 fight of all time was the bonnar vs forrest I... that pretty much brought all noobs like fish into the mma world by being on cable tv. who gives a **** about boxing anymore anyway, theres more boxing movies then there are big fights. James toney really proved his point vs randy couture and mayweather dicktucked when dana white came with sean sherk

saw the fight on friday. nate diaz is a beast and i dont see ANYONE, repeat ANYONE currently in the ufc beating overeem. he destroyed brock in every way possible. hes bigger stronger and more aggressive than anyone. he knocked out a heavyweight fighter with a kick to the stomach. btw, brock retired.

bring on............................ junior dos santos? hahahahaha pardon me i had to laugh at that

pretty funny.  dana can never shuts up.  i see him on twitter going abck and worth with his followers calling them pussies all the time haha.  i like this quote:

Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's manager, didn't hold back when responding to White's comments.

"He needs to shut the [expletive] up and mind his own business, stay in his own lane and keep on taking advantage of the UFC fighters, while underpaying them," Ellerbe told Yahoo! Sports after learning of White's rant. "If he keeps on running his mouth, we may decide to give a free seminar to all of the UFC fighters on how the pay-per-view revenue should be distributed.

ha, i didnt see that.  i jumped in the shower n went to kearns as soon as the bell rang in the 5th.  the reason i brough up kearns is for this funny story:

so i went to his house to pregame and they were watching on of their gfs puppy for the weekend.  kearns made his drink which consisted of burbon and ice and thats it.  he put his drink down for a second n then the dog went to go stick its head in it or whatever.

kearns immediatly went, "WHOA NOW pup.  your just a little booze hound aren't you?"  He then immediatly scoops up his drink and takes a big swig out of it and says, "that makes 2 of us."

idk y but i thought that was hysterical.

pretty good card on saturday night.  a couple interesting stories:

1. apprently henderson fought with a toothpick in his mouth the whole fight. very weird n kind dangerous.  also, arent these dudes required to have mouthpieces?

2. remember when the screen would randomly go blank for a few seconds in the middle of the fight but the sound would still be on?  the screen would go from the fight to just a blank picture of the arena.  tecnical difficulties?  nope, it was just nate diaz giving henderson the middle finger while attempting to leg lock him:

the toothpick thing was weird cause when joe rogan was asking him about it while standing right next to him he denied it ademently. cant imagine any good can come out of having a toothpick in ur mouth but it was real sketchy that he wouldnt even admit it.

hendersons awesome thou hes quiickly becomnig one of my favs

well its very illegal to have anything in your mouth during a fight which is why he denied it.  esp something pointy like that, although unlikley, he could have poked out diaz eye with it or had to bust right through his lip if he got hit in the face wrong.

i thought the middle finger thing was hilarious, i was wondering wht was going on with the screen going blank. diaz has so much class!
