Here are Rain Mans Nick's tips and tricks for bankrupting the casinos in only 3 short nights, listed by game:

Slots:
Let me make this clear: slots should only be played to receive the free drinks that come along with gambling in a casino. You will not win money playing slots, everytime I go to AC I see the same old lady on the slot machines tossing quarters in the machine and pulling the lever. Shes been there for 5 years and still hasnt won. Whats more boring than feeding quarters to a vending machine??

Roulette:
Roulette is the introduction to interactive gambling. Think of it as a preface to a novel or the tutorial to a video game. The most basic of table games roulette requires you to place chips on a board of numbers in hopes that when tossed into the roulette wheel the ball will land on the number of your choice. Most people will spread their money around, giving them a better chance of winning. I say hogwash, because while it gives you a better chance of winning it also guarentees that you will lose a portion of your stack. Instead of spreading your chips around throw 20 of them on black 20 and cross your fingers. I know a lot of people will put their money on a single color, usually black, in hopes of doubling up. Come on people, this is a Las Vegas casino lets do some gambling. A 50/50 shot of landing on your color is not only an old lady approach, but there is no casino game less riviting than hoping the ball lands one of 23 slots assinged to your color. If youre going to bet on a color have some balls and put your money on green, thats where the real money is made!

Blackjack:
The second most popular game, blackjack, requires basic calculations to reach a combination of cards closest to 21, without going over. The dealer is also dealt cards and must hit on everything below 17. My adivce to you is to ignore the dealer and "play to win the game." Hit on everything below 21. Before you say "wait Nick why would I hit on 20 when the lowest card in the deck is a 2," know that an Ace can be used as an 11 or a 1. Meaning, there is no reason to stand on anything less than 21. You cant lose when you hit 21 and you miss 100% of the shots you dont take, so claim that daddy needs a new pair of shoes, pound your fist on the table, piss everyone off and tell the dealer you hit on everything that does not equal 21!

Craps:
My personal favorite. Obviously I was very sarcastic in my explanations above but I would really like to get everyone on a craps table at some point that weekend so I will explain the basics...This games may seem difficult to the newbys eye, but the variety of bets available to this game are so large that even the most green gambler can play for long periods of time with a short stack. Good thing were all seasoned vets so we can skip the basics and go straight to the money makers.

Basics: There is one "shooter." All bettors around the table will place their "comeout" (original) bets on where they think the shooter will be successful or unseccessful on their turn. If you believe the shooter will be successful you bet the PASS line. If you believe they will fail you bet the DONT PASS line. I say "successful" because there are several ways for the shooter to win or lose.

Come out roll: The comeout roll is the shooters first roll to determine the number in play. If a shooter rolls a 7 or an 11 on the comeout roll everyone who bet on the PASS line wins double their money. (This is considered a success). If the shooter rolls a 'craps' or any number that can only be achieved in 1 combination of the 2 dye (2,3,11,12), the player who bet on the PASS line lose thir money and the players who bet on the DONT PASS line double up. In this case the shooter remains the same and shoots again. If any other number (4,5,6,8,9,10) is rolled, that becomes the ON number for the rest of the game.

After the come out roll: When the shooter hits on a number that is in play the dice are returned and they roll again. The object in this case is to roll the same number again before rolling a 7. Bettors at this point may increase their PASS bets with better odds so they receive more money on their bet. (The odds are increased because the PASS bet can no longer be won by rolling a 7/11). If the shooter rolls their number again before a 7, everyone who bet on the PASS line wins, and the DONT PASS line lose. Visa Versa if a 7 is rolled before the number in play.

As I mentioned there are more than 50 combination of bets that can be made on a craps table but most of them are extremly dumb (all sarcasm aside) so Ill focus on a couple other bets us low rollers might actually make.

Playing around the ON number: Bettors can make bets on individual numbers or the "field." The numbers which are not craps (4,5,6,8,9) can be bet upon exept for the number rolled on the come out roll. These bets include slightly better odds and are only removed when the shooter craps out. If a better places his bet on a 6 and the shooter rolls 10 6's in a row, that person earns 10x their bet plus the odds. Once a person craps out these bets are owned by the casino.

Field: The fiels is a bet made on all numbers which are not craps. This is a one roll bet and if any of the field numbers are hit that bettor doubles up. 2 and 12 pays double.

Hardaways: Now these are the dumbest bets but the quickest way to make money. You are basically betting on a single number on the next roll. Not only that but the numbers on the dice must be identical. Meaning that if you bet a "hard 10" you will win only if the shooters next shot is a 5 and a 5. Odds on these can go up to 36 to 1 so if you bet $5 and hit your taking home 200 bucks.

Play resumes until a shooter hits a 7 before his come out roll at which point all chips are cleared and the dice is passed to the next shooter.

Poker:
There are wayy to many varieties of poker and I dont think anyone will be playing the more advanced games.


So there you have it. Rain Mans Nicks guide to gambling basics. If you ignore my advice on roulette and blackjack and follow my advice on craps, you should come home with that new pair of shoes!!

Dan's Vegas VACA Travel Tips

1. If you plan on spending money on hookers (Kearns, Motz, Erm), I recommend allocating a set amount of money on this. If not, we might wake up with a baby, and/or someone married.

2. 5 Hour Energy drinks can/and/or will be substituted for lines or cocaine.

3. Do not get behind Ermyas in the security line, you will only get delayed. Haile just looks and sounds too much like Allah.

4. If you see a sock on the doorknob, don't bother knocking, just come on in and join.

5. If you call someone by their real name, you will be shanked. Below is a list of names for reference:

Dan - Chase Cox (Oil Tycoon, Original inventor of the .50 Cal, Mike Honcho look alike)
Ermyas - Texas Tay (Bartender of the Year 2001, Girls Gone Wild Account Executive)

danny- u mean u need help playing craps correct?  u said roulette which is the easiest game to learn.  u put chips on either red/black or a number and if the little ball lands on the color/number u win $.  craps on the other hand, i would like to learn as well, nick do u no any websites that i can go on to practice?

we need to figure out any additional activities people want to do. the bunny ranch is 4 hours from the strip so count that out (sorry dan) but there are a ton of shows, restaurants, night clubs, strip clubs, casinos pretty much anything you can think of that we should look into.

Im gonna suggest a trip to the pawn shop from the tv show Pawn Stars. I love that show
