haha i sent it to lauren and she was like why the hell are u sending me this? haha. i know nick n danny love baseball so i had to post a threrad for them to get into there heated arugments. nick what do u think is more important for a pitcher: their win loss record or there whip?
It'll be an interesting season, the O's look vastly improved. The Mets are 100% unknowns, The Yankees are the Yankees except their pitcher situation is incredibly iffy. The Red Sox took the Yankee route and bought themselves a team this year. My suprise team this year? Keep an eye on the Oakland A's, their pitching staff is incredibly good, if their offense can give them at least 4 runs a game, you might be looking at this years AL West Champs.
how did the o's improve? i no they got vlad any1 else? and y was no1 else interested in vlad? he was a top 5 player in the game not too long ago? is it because he is no longer on steriods?
O's completely rebuilt their infield. They got JJ Hardy from the Twins, Mark Reynolds (low avg, huge power) from the D-Backs, and signed Derrek Lee in FA. With Brian Roberts handling 2b they're looking pretty good. Vlad got signed so late because he was demanding a multi year deal worth almost 10 mil per. Everyone scoffed at it and thus he was stuck with having to sign a one year 8 mil with the O's when the Rangers signed Adrian Beltre.
i am OFFICALLY on the o's bandwagon! i need a bmore team to root for n theres no way im gonna b with the ravens and theres no hockey/basketball team so this is the ebst way to do it!
i didnt realize they had derrik lee also. him to go along with vlad, brian roberts and nick markakis is pretty decent. now i dont think there gonna beat out the yankees, but lets hope for a decent year so going to the games will be fun. pumped for friday btw...
yea this weather is bull****.......we just need to plan on going and if its raining we will go to the bar anndddd the student section is under the overhang if we feel like being true fans and get ****faced in the rain at the ball game for cheap price of $6(+$60 for beers and + another $20 for cups of jager from the hott vendor as soon as we walk in)..........LEGGO!!

haha motz i love the way you think. hopefully the black chick that has a crush on fish will still be around to pour us 5 part JD 1 part coke mixes so i can get drunk enough to freak dance with the mascot on the big screen again... *crosses fingers*
haha and nick remember our plan to get kearns on tosh.0 get him ****faced (very easy) then we make a rainbow drawing behind the giant white poster. then tell him to put his green ultimate warrior thong on along with his yellow and purple head band and have him run through the poster to do his push up contest vs audrey. did i miss anything?
hey nick, since u dont respond to texts, do u have any interest in the o's game tonight? its the last game of the year and its a big one. red sox r fighting for there playoffs lives, it wouldnt surprise me if this was sold out. so what do u say, down to go tonight?
i was gonna go but figured the rain would mess it up. doubt i would have stayed through that rain delay even if i went. so i dont feel too bad about missing it. still incredibly epic that the rain delay caused the o's to win 4 minutes before longorias home run. what a great reward for the rays fans who stayed.
hey nick remember when u you to aruge with me that steriods dont effect baseball HR hitters. heres a nice little stat for you:
Offense drops to two-decade low:
Teams averaged 4.28 runs per game this season, the lowest since 1992's 4.12 and down from a Steroids Era peak of 5.14 in 2000. And the home run average was down to 0.94 each team per game, also the lowest in 19 years and a sharp drop from 1.17 in 2000. That was when Giambi was voted AL MVP -- he later admitted he was among those who took steroids to bulk up.
The quality of starting pitchers has dramatically increased as well, which has to play into the numbers.
We're looking at a **** ton of guys who are easily going to be first ballot hall of famers:
Tim Lincecum Roy Halladay Justin Verlander Felix Hernandez CC Sabbathia
that's not counting the likes of josh beckett, josh johnson, ian kennedy, johan santana, zach greinke, chris carpenter, adam wainwright, jared weaver, cliff lee, roy oswalt, cole hamels.
i hope ur ****ing around. but just in case ur not, ur an idiot. hand eye coordination is 1 small part of being able to hit a home run. a person might have the greatest hand eye coordination in the world, but if that guy is 5'8 150lbs and cant bench press 100 pounds im willing to bet he isnt going to be hitting very many HR. do u no who can hit HR? guys with power. so yes i agree, if u start taking steriods ur not gonna automaticlly be a professional baseball player who can hit 50 hr, because there are other factors involved. but if u are already a current professional baseball player, and then u start taking steriods it has a huge impact on you and your game. it can take a career 25 hr a year guy and turn him into a 40 hr a year guy. or in barry bonds, mark mcgurie, sammy sosa, jason giambi's case, it can take a guy who can hit 35-40 hrs a year and make them into 50-60 hr's a year. notice how many guys hit more than 40 hrs a year latley? not many. notice nobody's pushing 60 anymore like they did every year in the late 90's and early 2000's? NONE. how much MORE evidence do u possibly need to show steriods have A HUGE impact in baseball???
im assuming ur messing around now, but from our previous conversations about this i know u didnt think steriods had a big impact for hitting hrs. however, after numerous counter arguments, posts, and facts presented by me, i was finally able to show u the light and now its a big joke. ur welcome
today u realize. but this is after years of aruging with me about it. u are smarter today than u were yesterday after reading my post. ur welcome for showing you the light.
Apparently before the Philly Cards game last night they had some pregame festivities involving the Budweiser clydesdale horses (as the cardinals are based in St.Louis home of Budweiser) and apparently as the horses rode around the field they shat a large amount in front of the Phillies dugout.
Generally the bigger names will go later. Coming up in a few weeks is whats known as the Winter Meetings. During these meetings is when most of the big time **** gets done. I'd say by the end of December you'll know where Pujols and Reyes are gonna be. Personally I think Pujols resigns w/ the Cards and Reyes DOESN'T resign with the Mets. There's also garunteed to be at least 1 or 2 big trades at the winter meetings.
Basbeball's different for some reason. The bidding wars are over a longer period of time, also the player generally visits each perspective teams ball parks. If you look back Cliff Lee didn't sign till December 15th of last year,
Lol, while it bums me out to see Jose go, I know it was the right move. He was fun to watch and (league quotes aside) a real sparkplug in the line up. But I'll say that he will have spent more time on the DL than actually playing by the end of his contract.
