The MLB thread seems to be popular amongst those who missed the playoffs....

Losing 5 of your last 8 and falling ass backwards into the playoffs makes you a real sh!t talker huh? Good luck getting unced by Joe in the first round.

i dont like baseball, but im also not completly aganist it either.
josh, call me crazy, but i think the cards are better off letting pulous go if the deal is for 10 years and over 20 mil? hes gonna make like 20 mil at age 42 haha. how do the yanks like paying arod right about now, and hes not even close to the end of his deal
Would they be better off in the long run? Probably. In the short run though? They'd be completely ****ed. If you look at that team outside of him Matt Holiday/Adam Wainwright/Chris Carpenter they don't have SH!T. For the basis of winning now, filling seats in the stadium, and overall making money signing him is a necessity. Will it hurt them in the future? Probably, but it's hard to say really.
i heard half the baseball ppl on the marlins dont want him because he hogs up all there cap and they need pitching. the owners obviously wants him cuz he is going to fill the new stadium
I mean yeah. The Marlins owners don't really care about fielding the correct team. They care about signing HUGE name free agents to mega deals to once again put butts in seats down there in Miami. I mean reports are surfacing that Hanley Ramirez is pissed they signed Jose to take his SS job and is refusing to move to third base. He's so pissed that he's asking to be traded. Watch in 2 years I bet the Yankees trade for Jose from the Marlins, at that time they can buy out Jeter for 3 mil and put Jose into the line up. The fact that Baseball doesn't have a salary cap is probably the worst thing about it. It's just not fun when small market teams can't compete. Whereas in the NFL every team has the same competitive advantage to signing anyone. I mean the Royals sure as sh!t can't afford to offer Jose 100+million over x number of years, no they gotta settle for some douche bag you've never heard of for like 2 mil a year. Sadly also unlike the NFL you can buy a team. As we've seen buying all star free agents in the NFL does not result in wins. In baseball it will examples: Yankees/Red Sox.

Yes, it might appear that I am falling ass backwards into the playoffs just like the New York Giants appear to be doing for real, I finally get my players back and healthy. Good day.

And How'd I start it? You're the one coming in and ****ting on my baseball parade and taking jabs at my lackluster fantasy year, I'm merely defending my honor as any man would!
My name is Joshua Brandwin, you insulted me in fantasy football, prepare to die!
danny, werent u hoping the dolphins lost so they could draft a good qb? the way there playing now there still going to miss the playoffs and finish with a mid round pick. how does that help?

Only Chuck Norris can be put in the same department as Cammy Cam Cam.

I still say griffen is the guy to have hes like cam newton with better accuracy
ur crazy. first newtons accuracy is pretty good. i think he was like a 60% passer in college. 2nd griffen is no where near the runner newton is. newton is 6'4 and fast. newton is a monster, i dont see griffen being as close to as good as newton
my point is there are a lot of good QBs coming out other than just andrew luck. obviously the dolphins wont get luck so when it comes to other QBs in the draft that are a possibility for them to pick RG3 is the best of the rest.

What I will give RG3 is that the dude is smart as ****. Can't overlook that point. Guy got his masters in like 3 years at Baylor.

i think it depends on if they use that money to get pitching. rangers got a hell of a lot better when arod left cuz they started using that money better on other areas. im not a fan of these huge contracts for 1 player, they rarley work out
Me either, more and more its dawning on me that these moves are all bout trying to bring fans back to the ballpark. Last year the Angels made one of the WORST trades i've ever seen in taking on Vernon Wells and all 60 million remaining in his contract. It pretty much killed the team. Now they're hoping by spending some dollars elsewhere that they can bring the fans back.
does anybody really care or u just trying to get a rise out of me because hes from pitt? heres a fun fact: I couldnt name 1 player on the pirates so i am the opposite of caring about what this guy does!
from now on, Mark Fischer will be know as Mike Florio.
jeez is everyone in pitt a law breaker? its bad enough for dbag kickers or cheap shot artist WR's to break the law by drinking and driving, but now team presidents are doing it??
Pittsburgh Pirates president Frank Coonelly faces four drunken driving-related charges after an incident on Dec. 22 in suburban Pittsburgh.
Police in Ross Township, Pa., charged Coonelly, 51, with one count each of drunken driving, driving the wrong way, careless driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content of at least twice the state's legal limit of .08.
the perfect game also relies on your teammates to make outs thou its not 28 strikeouts. 4 HRs is an individual accomplishment and requires a 100% HR percentage for all at bats in a single game (usually).
we said 4 HRS
although all are amazing. UAtriple play is actually the most rare with only 15 in history
most impressive: perfect game, 4 hrs in 1 game or a unassisted triple play? my coworkers and i came to a mutual agreement backed with facts so lemme know what you think
def agree about the unassisted triple play, it is more rare but it's more luck than the other 2.
i say 4 HR game is more impressive, there have been 21 perfect games in mlb history and there has only been 16 4 Hr games.
u could also argue that there only 2 pitchers per game who have the oppurtinty at a perfect game but there are 18 batters with an oppurtunity to get 4 HR's and the fact that there have been less of them to do it says how much harder it is to do.
