saw 2 great movies this weekend, cars 2 and friends with benefits. thought friends with benefits was awsome, and i now want to live either in NY or on the beach in cali and i am going to swack justin timberlakes swag. that guy is the man.
watched Moneyball last night and i gotta say i was extremely dissapointed. it was so slow and never picked up. i get that it was a baseball movie but they could have fit the whole thing into a half hour TV episode

Really? I read a lot of article that people thought "Moneyball" was snubbed at the Golden Globes.

i mean its a Biopic about a dude who (in essence) decided to use numbers that other people weren't using to put together a team. Doesn't exactly scream exciting, but it was incredibly interesting to see how Billy Beane was able to take a small market team like the A's who's salary is dwarfed by the Yankees, and still put an incredibly productive product on the field. The whole concept of Moneyball is finding value in under appreciated areas. Back before sabermetrics was common place in the MLB, all the scouts looked at 3 things, home runs, stolen bases, and rbis. Beane decided lets look deeper, using math he started looking at things like players On Base Percentage, and Offense Plus Slugging, as WAR (wins above replacement). No other team were valuing stats of this nature, so billy was able to get a lot of players that other teams over looked for very cheap.
yea i listed them in the order i would like to see them. any mark walburg movie is sure to be full of sex, guns and drugs so i def wanna see that. keep hearing great things about gwdt also
I dont even know why but i love the PA trilogy haha. fish will say "I dont like those kind of movies" which means "im scared as **** to watch because i will have nightmares for weeks"
I don't get scared in movies, horror never really did anything I usually laugh my way through them. But man Paranormal is something else. Literal chills up and down my body the entire time. I love it so much, no other horror movie has ever done it to me.
exactly. its the suspense of knowing that at any minute something could happen. no fake monsters or butcher knifes, paranomal activity is widely believed to be true.
im not getting home til around 930 tonight so we'll see. but what i dont get is why i can say i dont like those kind of movies and u take as im scared? i watched american horror story, high too, it was ok but just not my thing. that doesnt mean i had nightmares either haha.
do u enjoy chick flicks and love stories? no, does that mean ur scared of love or does that mean u dont want to waste 2 hours of ur night watching something u wont enjoy?
fish contrabands no longer playing at harbor east! i really dont get that place they either get movies the day they come out and play them for 2 weeks then theyre gone or they get them 2 weeks after theyre released and play them for 2 months. so annoying

wtf! i dont get it either, they like dont play some of the big movies at all, do they not like money?
well theres always white marsh or columbia movie threaters if u dont wanna drink on friday
i vote for white marsh, we can go to the bars before hand, do a little happy hour/get drunk then go see contraband. then once that is done we can hit the bars again!
maybe, ill see how tired i am. as of right now im leaning towards the gym cuz monday is a big deal for bball but i never get to go since i get out of work late/hung over but im getting out early today so im gonna hit that up. if i get too tired n change my mind ill let u no
i see what u did there. this is revenge for telling me yesterday, "lets do something, how about we get a drink!" which then u followed up by eating SoCal fish tacos n sitting on the couch for the next 8 hours while i was left bored n disapointed
so apparently some move called "the artist" won best picture and had the best male lead actor. not gonna lie, but i never even heard of this movie until last night, but my question is, so when we renting it?
dammit nick, i wanted to watch rango too! im always missin out
and as for the best picture award, the only movie i even saw on that nominated list was moneyball and i thought that movie sucked. i agree, not a good year for movies
The Artist - A Love story that's only being regarded so highly because it's in black and white and silent. SNOB/HIPSTER CITY
The Descendants – A melo drama about the destruction of a family SNORE
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close – Kids dad dies in 9-11 BUT THATS OK! Why? becaue he left a puzzle for him to solve after his death!
The Help – Black people ain't treated right, oh god not again.
Hugo – Kids movie bout robots that are peoples dads or some ****
Midnight in Paris – This one actually looked interesting to me. Woody Allen movie, a struggling screen writer is in Paris on vacation with his wife. At midnight every night he hops in a taxi that takes him back in time to meet writers like Ernest Hemmingway and F Scott. Fitzgerald. They help him with his screenplay as well as with his bitch wife who's cheating on him.
Moneyball – Interesting, but ultimately a little boring.
The Tree of Life – Malick's film chronicles the origins and meaning of life by way of a middle-aged man's childhood memories of his family living in 1950s Texas, interspersed with imagery of the origins of the universe and the inception of life on Earth. People either hate this thing or love this thing.
