fantasic night last night, im in a highlight kinda mood so here we go:
- nick changelles me then talks **** on the email chain only to not have his ps3 updated or even entered his online code and isnt even half way done through hard knocks during the time he wanted to play
- tried out multiple teams/playbooks last night. this is a long process but so far the best teams playbook to fit their players is the pats offense which has multiple 2 te sets that works great for they players they have. pats also have the best offense i have tried with brady, the 2 tes, welker, lloyd all being an 85 or better. there rb's r weak but fast so they work well too.
- giants NASCAR package is pretty cool, also have the wide 9 for a lot of teams including the eagles.
- jets have a special wildcat package with tebow as the qb. only has like 4 or 5 plays in it, but on one play it was 4th and 18 so i ran a playaction with the TE doing a corner route. so what happened? 85 yard td. def not a coniendence.
- 1-0 thus far in madden online leading 38-7 at halftime b4 the kid quit.
- some on the madden leader board is 47-2, meaning he either played 50 games of madden in the 24 hours since it released yesterday or broke into the madden headquarters a few days early. either way thats a lot of madden and that kid needs a life.
teams im exicted to try out (already played with pats) in order:
what teams have u guys used so far? i played around with a bunch of the teams and messing around vs the computer with a few others but so far he are the 3 i used:
1. eagles: LOADED. i didnt think i would enjoy playing with them cuz i usually like having a big wr but damn they are good! mccoy is a beast, there line is good, there wr's are fast, vick is not 100% accurate but good enough in the mid range passes and can run. there d is great even tho the safteys suck but when you are a user as good as i am that doesnt matter much. love them so far.
2. pats: also great and very fun to use. their playbook is full of 2 and 3 te sets and its so easy to get one of them open. brady is so damn accurate so u can lead any pass anywhere n gronk is going to come down with it. the d isnt as good as the eagles but they do have some good players with nickovick (92) and mayo (90) so def can stop ppl some what.
3. broncos: obviously have peyton who is very good and very accurate but there wr's are not as good as they should be and the te isn't either so they are not explosive like the eagles or pats. mcgaee is pretty good and so is there line so u can get some good drives going ground and pound and throwing slants and curls. there d is the strong point if u move von miller to de. 2 90 de's plus champ bailey so u can get good pressure on the qb. like them not love them.
bonus: giants are pretty damn good in madden too (used them in demo). sick dline and wr's as well as eli who is a damn 97. this verison is definitly the playoff verison of the giants and not the week 1-16, 9-7 record version. since they are the giants i probably will never use them in game action but they are definitly a good option to use and i have already played them 2 out of my 3 games
next 3 up are panthers, ravens and texans, i will let u no how they turn out.
does calvin johnson season so far fit into the madden curse yet?
Calvin Johnson is now on pace for 114 receptions for 1,904 yards and 8 touchdowns, which would break Jerry Rice’s record of 1,848 yards in 1995. Over his last five games he is averaging 9 receptions for 158 yards with four touchdowns. He is the first receiver to have four straight games of 140+ yards and the second receiver with 125+ receiving yards in five straight games (Pat Studstill of the 1966 Lions is the only other).
EA Sports has confirmed that the eagerly awaited Madden 14 release will be renamed Madden NFL 25 ahead of the title’s release later this year.
Forging the annual naming convention, the next Madden release will see EA Sports celebrate 25 years of the American Football gaming franchise, rebranding the upcoming title Madden NFL 25 in honour of the quarter century achievement. Following last year’s surprise Worst Company In America victory by Electronic Arts, there was hope that the video game giant would get the message: Stop treating your customers like human piggy banks, and don’t put out so many incomplete and/or broken games with the intent of getting your customers to pay extra for what they should have received in the first place. And yet, here we are again, with EA becoming the first company to ever win a second Golden Poo from Consumerist readers.
After an astounding number of votes, Consumerist readers once again chose EA over Bank of America, with the video game company taking nearly 78% of the vote.
What did EA do (or not do) that it managed to achieve what none of the previous WCIA champs — Comcast, AIG, BP, Halliburton, RIAA, Countrywide — have ever been able to? Like many other competitors in the WCIA bracket, EA has repeatedly failed at three core requirements of running a consumer-friendly business:
Yeah, I mean they're definitely not the "WORST" company in America (look at all that oil in Arkansas if you don't agree). But in terms of consumers, yes they are pretty awful. Rushed product, intentionally leaving pieces of a game out so they can sell it to you later, diminished product, monopolies on genres that absolutely stagnate growth of the field. They suck.
well im biased because the only video game i play is madden, but they do have a monopoly on it which sucks because they can basically do roster updates and be one of the highest selling games for the year. i wish they would come out with a basketball game, they have been talking about it for years but it never happens
i like the free running. nothing better than pissing my boy steve off running down his throat the last 3 minutes of the game when i have the lead (inevitable)
nfl becomes a passing league so madden focuses on running. i wonder how effective the spread and read option is going to be with some of these teams. i also really wanna see what offense and plays they use for chip kelly.
i've always been a PS guy. to be honest i dont even play video games that much any more other than madden so i dont know if it is even worth getting the new system when the come out. i was just trying to figure out what the new improvments were and if it was worth going from ps3 to the ps4 in a few months
so apparently madden comes out next tuesday. when i was a kid (ok up until senior year of hs) madden release day aka maddenoliday was literally a bigger holiday for me and my friends than some more well known ones such as easter. we normally would go to local gamestop at like 11pm, wait til midnight to get the game and then probably stay up until 5-6am playing all night n then wake up and play all day again. i bring this up because the game is 8 days away from release and i almost forgot it was coming out. i havent seen any commercials for it or any buzz in general.
well yesterday was a sunday for the ages with a great combo of nothing going on, nobody being around and the weather sucking just enough that nobody wanted to go outside so i decided to catch up on madden for the upcoming year. apparently it is called madden 25 this year (is next year back to 2014 or is it gonna be madden 26? stupid IMO) and they have some youtube clips of the greatest madden players of the past 25 years for each position. some interesting ones:
1. vick at qb. any one who played madden 2004 knows the falcons were almost unstoppable with him. u had to put a wr as a spy in certain packages otherwise he would kill you. very tough to beat
2. marshall faulk at rb. while he was good if we were going over a time frame i would have went with AP or if we were going 1 year i would have went ricky williams the year after he had that monster year with miami. if u guys played back then ricky was a frigging monster who was fast and broke almost every single tackle.
3. wr had one obviously choice in randy moss, but their 2nd pick....brian finneran from 2004 ATL. umm what? i realize jerry rice was not the same player when madden was really popular, but i think they could have found someone better than finneran.
4. safteys were sean taylor and brian dawkins. 2 excellent picks and guys i used a lot. i would have been fine with ed reed in there as well.
5. sorry, no giants made the list but dermonte dawson did for the stillers so have run using the madden 25 team and controlling the middle.
