There have been at least a bakers dozen times I have had to refrain from punching my TV off my wall from watching this guy.

Thoughts?

i hate him, nick loves him.

i try to avoid reading/watching him at all costs cuz i cant stand him either.  he has 1 argument with chris bussard where he was a complete dbag about 5 times in the one 6 minute segment.

his argument was that lebron james declared himself the next jordan cuz he picked #23.  please, he did it to honor him and cuz that was his favorite player growing up.

also, derrick rose picked #23 at memphis for the same reasons, but skip doesnt mention this. he just makes up reasons for why he doesnt like lebron just to be critical.

Skip Bayless just comes up with statements that almost no one will agree with just to say them. Hes obnoxious and deserves to have a nine iron driven into his skull

Like Josh said, he says things just to be able to say he was the one guy who said it. 1% of the time he will look smart and brag about it, the other 99% he sounds like an annoying terrorist that I want to explode.

So Im not going to disclose Skip Bayless' answer but I saw a clip of a great debate about who a team would rather acquire at QB. Kevin Kolb and his "first round" asking price or vince young at a much lower price?

I want to hear you guys choices before I give my answer because a. kolb plays for the iggles and b. VY has a chance of landing in MIA

well the safer option is VY cuz u wont have to trade a 1st for him n the expectations will be lower

I disagree Fish, I think Kolb is the safer option.

Yes, giving up a first is huge, even for a a QB. But what if Kolb plays even remotely close to how he we've seen him play? Then he would be worth much more than a 1st.

With Vince, you have several things to worry about. One, he works well, but only in a good system. You have to completely change up the offense to work for him, since he is not a pocket kinda of guy. Also, you never know when the team starts losing a couple games that his attitude becomes a distraction.

I'll take Kolb + 1st over Vince anyday of the week.

ya i mean vince is defintily a backup qb option, i dont see any team going after him as there starter right off the bat.  at least with kolb, some of the teams going after are trying to win there division (arz, seattle, umm miami).

but lets not forget about this guy just yet...(are u ready for it).................

BRETT FARVE!

i would not be surprised at all if he came back during the season if a qb (on a good team) got hurt and they didnt have a good backup.  some team like philly, maybe baltimore, something like that

i was listening to mike and mike this morning on the radio, and our boy skip bayless was on!  he had a couple interesting points this year.

- he thinks dallas is going to be good this year.  he loves rob ryan and thinks he is going to have more of an impact on the cowboys d than rex will with the jets

- he thinks the eagles r overrated.  he doesnt like any of the moves they made on d (other than asoumugha) n doesnt think its a good idea to have 3 corners cuz he thinks there gonna trade asente and that would be a down grade.  he also thinks theree gonna go 10-6 and there no lock to win the nfc east.

- he thinks it would be a good move for the dolphins to go after favre.

lets just say i dont agree with a majority of what he says.

Nobody has said they dislike the Eagles moves, thats why he said it. He likes to be that one guy who goes against the norm, so if it miraculously happens, he puts his pussy on a pedistool and brags about it.

The only thing he said that I agree is the Cowboys are twice as good with Rob Ryan.

They could stick me at D-Coordinator (the cowboys) and still be wayyyyyy better than the beginning of last year.

i agree the cowboys d might be better with him, but to say hes gonna have more of an impact than rex does with the jets?? umm diod he not see the playoffs last year where rex shut down the 14-2 pats with mvp tom brady?  maybe it was cuz it was the browns, but i dont remember there d being anything special since hes been there.  and also, wade phillips is a pretty good defensive coach, so its not like there getting rid of some bum.  we'll see, the cowboys definitly should be better now that romo was out but they havent done anything else to improve their team so well see.

If you really think Wade Phillips compares to Rob Ryan, your crazy.

Rob Ryan should of been a head coach 3 years ago, he is just as good as his brother.

wade phillips is a great defensive coach.  hes not a good head coach as u can tell by his 2 firings in the past 4 years, but defensivly he is up there which is one of the reasons y the texans were so exicted to hire him and think there gonna make an improvment

For once, I agree with Fish. Under Wade the Chargers were an absolute FEARED defense. But once you put too much on ol' Wades plate he starts looking lost on the sidelines...

Jim Rome was really unbearable at one point like 5 years ago. The only reason I watch his show, is he gets really good guest to come on that nobody else has on.

haha funny comment from PFT:

In other news, they just had a whole segment on Brady cutting his hair on espn first take..Skip Bayless says that Brady isn’t a team player and that he is a selfish human being for cutting his hair by himself, instead of it being an entire team thing, the other dumb b*tch on there said it is the sign of a franchise in despair. Guys, they get paid on this show. Why?

people can hate all they want but i love espn, they have plenty of flaws, but there is absolutely no other viable competition when it comes to sports television.

funny part is because im an nfc guy i really can't stand watching CBS for anything football related. i hate their layout, announcers, everything. hell i even hate the sitcoms and tv shows on cbs. however, i dont necessarily MIND their pregame show if i have to watch it, but i usually dont have a reason to with fox/espn/nfln all being superior.

as for NFLN, i like tory holt, kurt warner and yes warren sapp but these arent the most knowledgeable guys about the history of the game etc. they are entertaining but whats up with that chick always being on their flagship program?

the better question is who is the best gameday crew?

Chris Berman, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, Keyshawn Johnson, Steve Young, Cris Carter and Mort/Schefter of ESPN

James Brown, Dan Marino, Bill Cowher, Shannon Sharpe and Boomer Eiasen of CBS

Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson, Michael Strahan and Jay Glazer of FOX

I'm with you Forster, I don't know why but CBS layout irks me big time. Their presentation seems really old for some reason. I love me some fox presentation. Not to mention that Troy Aikman is far and away my favorite football announcer (next to Al Michaels). But for pregame crew i'll take the fox crew ANYDAY love me some strahan/bradshaw/long

not gonna lie, i like all 4 and could watch any of them.  i usually stick with fox for the majority cuz of the nfc thing and they focus on the eagles a lot.  i also like jay glazer and LOVE frank caliendo.  kenny maine is ok, sometime hes funny but most of the time i dont think he is.  the biggest difference for me is that fox n cbs is 1 hour vs 3 hours of espn and nfl network.  so because of that, a lot of segments espn/nlf have are really dragged out n get old quick.

crew wise tho espn is still the top for me.  i know a lot of ppl cant stand chris berman but i love the guy.  i miss nfl primtime, that was my favorite show OF ALL TIME.  when nbc got there new tv deal they took that show away so ill never forgive them for that.  hopefully now that espn signed a new extension with espn they got back some of the highlights and can air them earlier and bring back prime time.
