Here's how Kevin Durant explained it yesterday when he came after Skip Bayless for downing Westbrook:
"We're worse when I take more shots. Like I said, [Bayless] doesn't know a thing. I don't think he watches us. I think he just looks at the stats. And traditionally, a point guard is not supposed to take more shots than everybody else on the team. But we're better when he does do that and he's aggressive. And I'm better when I'm out there facilitating, rebounding, defending and being more efficient on my shots with less shots."
It's been well-established that ESPN's Skip Bayless is a workout fiend. He spends endless hours on the treadmill, and looks to be in fantastic shape for his age. It's also been well-established that Bayless is a fame-hungry sellout that will say anything on air (and formerly, before he realized it wasn't making him famous enough, in print) just to draw a reaction, and more eyes, and more ratings. Recently, Bayless criticized Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook without the slightest bit of basketball smarts, or hint of nuance, much less research. OKC All-Star Kevin Durant rightfully took his obsessive brand of ignorance to task, and Bayless responded by pumping up his own credits as a high school point guard who finally learned that PGs should think "pass" 12 times before they fire away, on Twitter.
Bayless' ESPN co-host Jalen Rose, after a bit of research of his own, took on Skip after Bayless claimed that he started as a shot-happy point guard for a high school team that made the state finals in Oklahoma. Bayless didn't start for his high school squad, it turns out, and didn't even play for the varsity until his senior season, when he averaged 1.4 points per game. Here's the video of Rose calling a clearly uncomfortable Bayless out:
Jalen didn't exactly do the digging himself. No, that was left to the fine folks at The Last Ogle, who found out that Bayless played only 15 of his teams 22 games during his senior year, and that no player on his squad scored fewer points than Bayless. Doesn't exactly sound like a shot-happy point guard that learned his lesson the hard way, as Bayless claimed. Even in trying to make himself look like a cautionary tale, he still lied to his half a million Twitter followers just to make a silly point to feed the daily gasbag that is his needless talk show.
haha Wale was on first take today and bayless talked him into cutting his hair off if tebow starts more than 6 games for the jets this year. wale was making the point that tebow will get a shot at some point in the season and NY isnt patient enough to allow him to finish the year as the starter if he struggles. somehow skip turned that into a "number of games" and wale was like skip i told you tebow will get the chance to start some games but its not gonna last. eventually they settled on 6 games to appease skip. i dont like wales chances thou especially since skip wouldnt put anything up that he would.
@RealSkipBayless Will LeBron ever grow up, conduct himself like 3-time MVP instead of this childish frontrunner taunting? At least go win ONE RING first.
i dont no how u can listen to that guy let alone take him serious. he wasnt impressed after lebrons 40, 18 and 9 game aganist the pacers which turned the series around for good and somehow made it seem like wade was the main guy there. there is literally nothing that lebron can do to impress him unless he demands a trade to the bobcats next year n leads them to the title. and even then he would prolly say MJ was the one who did it haha n it still wasnt good enugh in his eyes
but brousard, majoc and berry explained it perfectly on the postgame show...... those final 2 plays werent lebron and wades fault, they were spolstras terrible play designes. Seriously if you cant come up with a better play than those 2 with 2 of the best players in the league you shouldnt be a coach. i could draw them up and get lebron and wade better shots. and those arent the only bad play calls at the end of games either
ya i dont blame the players. it was basically give the ball to lebron/wade, dribble out the clock and then make something happen with 2 seconds or left. lebron was tripled teamed and made a bad pass, wade had an open shot n just missed.
bosh is coming back so hopefully that helps limit garrnet whos been killing the heat and can add some scoring. cant wait for game 5!
oh so i forgot to tell you. my boy raffi posted a pic on instagram of an article on bleacher report titled "Mike Wallace to Washington: Redskins could make room for blockbuster move"
of couse, the skins fans took this as "Redkins trade for Mike Wallace"
and best of all, your boy jack had the following quote:
"RG3 and Wallace 2 fastest people in NFL on the same team at the same damn time thats that **** i do like haha Pitt fans will b in there feelins"
just one more reason to hate the redskins. and the fact they think there going to the super bowl now in late july which is on much faster pace than week 2 when they are 1-1.
well that point alone he is correct. but when u factor in the fact that he is the league mvp, the finals mvp, and now the best player in the olympics i think those factors all add up to make him pretty special.
seriously wtf else does lebron need to do to get skip to admit anything positive?
hahah JETSPN thats funny. i actually read a deadspin article on how much time sportscenter devotes to each league, team, player etc and the jets were at like 10% which is pretty high for a team who is doing nothing but practing haha
never said he was better. u cant compare the greatest player of all time's career to a 27 year old. but for 1 year and 1 year only, its a bigger arugment than u think. they guy won the mvp, finals mvp, league champion and was the best player in the world for a gold medal team. what else can he possibly do in a 1 year period?
skip the other day suggested derek jeter might be using some kinda PED's. i can somewhat see his point (the fact jeter is 38 and having a career year and hitting twice as many HR's as he did last year) but seriously as a representative on espn u cant just go throwing **** out there like this and not be held accountable for anythingor having any kind of proof.

u guys see skip tweet durant like 5 more times talking about training with lebron and his final one was asking him to come on his show n debate with him. all he tries to do is get ratings
"Skip whenever you refer to me, whenever you speak to me, whenever you address you me address me as all pro Stanford graduate. Cause those are some accomplishments you will never see, you can aspire to. You have never accomplished anything. I am all pro. I am top 22 at my profession. You arent top 22 anything. I am better at life than you"
it goes without saying going from tebow to manning at qb is about a big a jump you can get but its still crazy to think this team with pretty much the same offensive weapons went from a team barley able to score more than 14 points a game to the #1 offense of all time. shows u how bad tebow was at qb. with that said, how the hell did this happen?? must have been an old and slow d out there
it happened because he had like 40 yards passing in all of regulation so they were stacking the box. even a blind squirrel can bust a nut every once in a while (or something like that)
Hah Mundy lost playing time on an epic level when Will "Smoke Weed **** Bitches" Hill came in and made the case to be one of the best safteys in the league... if he doesn't get arrested that is...
^^ wow strange. came here to post the below and look at what the last post was exactly 6 months ago.
anyway, apparently first take this morning dove into the ray rice suspension. stephen a took the stance that women shouldnt provoke men into touching them either sexually or physically by doing things like wearing short skirts, flirting with no intentions, and best of all attacking them physically. he says some women want to be treated like men and so they should be.
twitter, and america, is not happy.
i cant believe you would take a stance like that on air especially espn. i guess thats what you get on first take but damn that was not the right way to approach the situation while people are still pissed about how short the suspension was.
People will bitch and moan about it for about a week, then something else will become newsworthy... Then Stephen A and Skip laugh all the way to the bank
Ive actually been watching Olberman quite a bit since its on the same time as SC and SC couldnt do anything for me lately. its pretty good. he takes extremely strong stances and sometimes when I disagree with him it makes it frustrating, but at least he can back up his opinion with facts, unlike those clowns on FT
Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio is pretty good in taking strong stances but at the least having facts to back himself up. Instead of the Skip/Stephen A say anything and stand by it for no discernible reason .
