sooo there has been an ebola outbreak in africa that has killed 700 people in 3 months. theres no cure for it and ppl were worried it would somehow make its way to the US.
last week 2 US nurses who they sent over there to help the sick got the disease WHILE WEARING BIO HAZARD SUITS. what do these idiots decide to do instead of quarenteeing it in africa? they bring these 2 ppl home!
seriously, just like the missing milaysia airline plane this could be the end. if we hear of ppl starting to get this in the US we are f.u.c.k.e.d.
Up to you, my phone is getting a little weird these days and could definitely use an upgrade. I preordered the iPhone 6 Plus this morning, pumped, things ****in' huge.
"The teenage girls who abandoned their families in Austria to become jihadis for ISIS feel they’ve made a terrible mistake by joining the barbaric lifestyle and they want to come home."
so I got the iphone6 last night and so far so good. haven't really had much of a chance to play around with it yet. obviously it is bigger and faster which are both key, I also noticed it has a nicer camera and the finger print thing is pretty cool. what are the other big improvements with it?
also, my iphone4 had an itrip thing for my car but that plug will not work for the iphone6, any recommendations on where to get a new one at?
its an itrip thing so one end went into the aux part of my car and the other was like a charger that went into the iphone4. the charger part no longer fits the iphone6 anymore SMH.
oooo yeah josh is right. if u had the 4 u still had the bigger input. that converter will work.
my phone is actually on recall because the battery is so ****ty. i will go from a full charge to 60% in 5 minutes, then down to 20% and last for a few hours then 1% then shut off.
i could send it back but im up for an upgrade on 12/5 so ill just wait and get the 6
the regular 6, not the plus, that thing is way too big for me.
and yes, josh that is pretty much exactly what I need so good looks. hopefully I can get something for less than $30 but might have to just suck it up.
so long as it passes a 2 month congress review it will be legal for anyone over 21 to posses 2 ounces (thats a lot). technically they can still arrest you on federal charges but it would be a huge waste of time as that would never stand up in court.
after my time in denver this past summer its actually kinda funny. there were certain places that ppl were smoking on bar patios or along the steets of downtown denver but it wasnt like the whole city was covered in a cloud of smoke like i was expecting. most ppl still keep it to themselves and smoke the in their own homes. the nice thing is you a) cant get arrested if pulled over and caught with it and b) dont have to worry about stinking up your apartment complex.
it will still take a year or 2 (after approved) for any dispensores to open. thats the lesser of my concerns thou :)
So all of you may have seen things about the #Rosetta and #Philae mission that landed on a comet today, but no one really put up some quick easy ridiculously amazing stats that might get you more excited about space/science... so allow me:
the mission was approved by #ESA (European Space Agency) in 1993. It was developed and sent off into space in March of 2004. It then traveled a cumulative distance of 3.97 Billion miles. It landed on the target (comet 67P) which is 2.5 miles wide traveling at a speed of 83,885mph. Its current distance from us on Earth is 317 Million miles.
Think about the math involved in figuring out how to do that. Be impressed. Be amazed.. Be curious.. google more.. and then be upset that it wasn't the U.S. and #NASA that did it first..
how freaking amazing is some of that ****? Especially the fact that it was traveling 83k MPH. I prolly still couldnt hit all the moving targets in duck hunt without putting the gun up to the screen
So I don't know if you guys are into Podcasts, but me and Dana had to drive to Frederick from NY for Thanksgiving this past week and we needed something to kill the time. We found this Podcast called Serial, and it's just phenomenal.....
The podcast details this murder case that happened in 1999 and how odd everything surrounding it was....
On January 13, 1999, a girl named Hae Min Lee, a senior at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore County, Maryland, disappeared. A month later, her body turned up in a city park. She'd been strangled. Her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was arrested for the crime, and within a year, he was convicted and sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison. The case against him was largely based on the story of one witness, Adnan’s friend Jay, who testified that he helped Adnan bury Hae's body. But Adnan has always maintained he had nothing to do with Hae’s death. Some people believe he’s telling the truth. Many others don’t.
If you can listen to music on your headphones at work or have a 35-50 minutes to kill somewhere I highly suggest listening. Theres 9 Episodes with the 10th to be released this Thursday.
so figured I would check out serial and I gotta admit, its freaking addicting. the heart of the story takes place at woodlawn highschool which should sound somewhat familiar since weve all lived in/near bmore at one point. it references a ton of places around the city inclsuing the inner harbor and some of the parks id heard of.
and I mean addicting. I started episode 1 as I went to bed Saturday night. I finished episode 8 before I fell asleep last night. right now there are 11 and they average about 40 minutes each but judging just by the titles it doesn't look like episode 11 is the last. its gonna be tough if I catch up and have to wait a week until they are released on Thursdays.
anyway, good call josh. im hooked and I love stuff like this. cant wait to see what happens. as of right now its very much up in the air!
does anybody know why some courts allow cameras in there and some don't? I would think its a state by state thing but then why is there cameras in the hernadez case (espn was showing the finances testominonal on sportscenter the other day) but the boston marathon bomber all you see is drawings of the defendant and they are both in Mass for their trial. anyone know why that is?
its at the descretion of the judge. the prosecutor or defendant can make the case to let or disallow cameras in the court room then the judge ultimately decides.
usually when the media can sway the jurors (even thou theyre not supposed to watch the news while they are a juror) or even the publc into thinking one way or another they wont let them. since the boston bombing had multiple victims, plus the hunt was carried out through the media, they already played too large a part in the case which made jury selection hard. too many people were angry at that dude to put him on camera for 2 months.
hernandez on the other hand is a single victim (at least the case hes in court for now) murder. yeah hes a celebrity (sorta) but cameras wouldnt really have an impact on his case.
the hernandez trial is actually the norm. most of the time they are allowed, but in high profile cases such as the boston bombing it only causes more of a circus.
crazy night last night obviously. it's amazing that while I'm watching this all on the news it feels like its happening in a different country when in reality its 15 minutes away from where I live and I could literally drive there and watch it live if I really wanted to. where i live in fed hill its COMPLETELY different than west Baltimore where all the rioting and fires was happening but I never felt like I wasn't safe, but at the same time you never knew which group of people would try and take advantage and start breaking into cars in my area or lighting **** on fire so that was kinda scary. from all the news I watched here are some of the things I gathered:
- it looks like this whole rioting thing started from a high school rumor. school let out around 3pm and a large group of kids were rumored to be heading to a local mall so the cops got word and went out that way. that is when things got escalated and then more people started showing up and then when the TV stations showed bricks being thrown is when more and more people in that area came that way and it just really snowballed from that point on.
- the whole thing is just so stupid, why ruin stores/churches/cars in an area that you live in? morons. just looking for a reason to lash out at cops that they have been battling in the drug war with for years now
- I drove home and off 95 you could see about 5-6 helicopters circling this one area, that was pretty crazy to see.
- there is a 10pm curfew in Baltimore all week. really screws up bars esp in places like fed/canton, are they supposed to be shutting down at 10pm at week? if that is the case, they are going to be losing out on A TON of money. and what about Saturdays big mayweather fight with all these bars shutting down at 10pm, what's going to happen there??
- when watching the wire and seeing how "hampsterdam" was shut down with 100's of cops and tv reporters taking back over that block it made me think, what would have been more believable: that story or what happened last night?
grew up and was actually really good friends with the boyfriend in this case. not at all surprised this happened considering the fact that by the time we got to high school he was suspended for fighting more than in class and was ultimately expelled for stabbing a kid at mcdonalds after our state bball championship but its still really weird to see someone you know on the news like this.
BILL SIMMONS IS LEAVING ESPN! I've read 95% of his articles since I was a sophomore in high school, this is huge news to me. plus he has grantland which I like, his grantland's youtube/NBA shows have been good this year, all his podcasts, and even 30 for 30, what is going to happen to all that??
my guess is he goes off solo somewhere, which I'm sure he will be fine doing esp with writing articles and podcasts, a person can do that anywhere he doesn't need ESPN for that, but I'm not sure what's going to happen with grantland and the 30 for 30's now that he's gone. this is crazy news for me.
well it wouldnt be the first time they lied to us. bin laden would probably be dead anyway by now so i hope they got him but im not worried about him or al-queda anymore.
the group to be worried about is ISIS. apparently they've got "lone wolf" american citizens ready to carry out attacks like the one in Texas last week, which they claimed credit for. whether they are in direct communication with ISIS or just trying to impress them, these ppl are dangerous. not to mention ISIS is financially and technologically light years ahead of al-queda.
kornheiser made the comment the other day that wilbon makes "player money." id like to know what he makes, i assume hes been there longer than simmons and has a staple show.
