so i am all caught up after blowing through 2 seasons in less than 2 weeks.  i must say i definitly enjoyed it and will be sad to no longer get to watch 1-2 episodes a night every day of the week.  with that said, i must admit i do not enjoy the finales as much as i thought.  i just feel like there is always some kind of cliff hanger and the story lines never wrap up.  i get that its war and war doesnt end after 1 battle but the thing i loved about the wire is that when every season ended i feel like a complete story was told and with GoT i feel like so many story lines are left open.  for example:

1. what is king rob and the starks planning on doing?  do they still plan on attacking the lanisters?

2. what was the deal with jon snow fighting that dude at the end?

3. how did tyrione go from hand of the king to basically nothing after he lead the charge in the battle?

Well the show is based off a series of books. So the cliff hangers make sense.

1. I don't know! ****'s gonna get real!

2. At the end the dude sacrificed himself so Jon Snow could find out what Mance Rayder's plans for Westeros is.

3.Tyrions father Tywin came in and saved the day during the battle of blackwater. He then installed himself as the hand of the king. Thus stripping Tyrion of any and all power he had.

1. who burned down the starks home?

2. where did theon greyjoy get taken to after he was kncoked out?

The wire is one of the very few shows who wrap up each season like that.

Usually shows will leave you on cliff hangers.

Examples:

OH FUN GAME! What shows do these reference notable cliff hangers reference?

1)What's in the hatch?

2)Tony arrested.

3)The plane crashes.

4)#8 shoots the captain.

5)Who's robins fiance?

HAH I asked myself the same question.

I'm currently reading book one and as soon as I finish I'm moving on to book two. Hopefully I'll have an answer for you then

Still reading book one at the moment. They are LONG ass books, minimum of a thousand pages per book.

They're pretty much EXACTLY the same, sure a few things are streamlined for television, but they really don't leave too much out.

The book gives you a little more background on things that the show can't take the time to, but otherwise it's all gravy.
