Yeah but this isn't a "build your future team list"
It's a best players RIGHT NOW list. And as of this moment Djax hasn't shown anything beyond being a deep threat who shy's away from contact at this point in his career.
Miller brings great run/pass blocking, intermediate routes, and a deep ball or two.
Face it Djax as of this moment isn't as useful as Miller
he was hurt last year, but he wasn't bad. 700 yards in 11 games averages out to about 1100 yards a season which is pretty good. im not acting like hes a top 10 wr, but hes better than giving credit for. you all just think hes overrated cuz you drafted him in fantasy too high and hes not a great fantasy player. with that said, all reports out of eaglesland are saying hes been unstoppbale in training camp and hes looked good in both preseason games as well. Expect a comeback year from him.
not sure where you read that. this is from pft last year when he signed his extension:
A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that Jackson has agreed to a five-year deal with a base value of $47 million. Jackson also gets $15 million fully guaranteed.
He gets $10 million to sign, along with a $750,000 base salary and a $250,000 workout bonus in 2012.
In 2013, Jackson receives a $6.75 million base salary, $4 million of which is fully guaranteed. The other $2.75 million is guaranteed for injury only. He also will receive a $250,000 workout bonus, which increases the two-year take to $18 million.
you want to talk injuries? try 4 oline out for the season including 2 (peters and kelce) before week 2 ended. 3 of them are back including the best LT in football plus a top 5 pick RT who looks good from all account. the worst part of the team now becomes a strength. you want more injuries? desean out for 5 games, mccoy out for 4 games, vick out for 6, all healthy and look great.
"meanwhile, youre counting on a coach who doesnt step foot on the field to take you from the 4th overall pick to a playoff team?"
in case you stopped following football, coaching is HUGE in the national football league, so yes i expect a huge improvment from a coach who quit on the eagles last year (read peter kings mmqb for a quote basically saying he couldnt wait to get out of there) to the most anticiapted college coaching debue since jimmy johnson. you want some recent evidence of a college coach taking over a bad team and making them good immeditialty? try the 2011 49ers. in 2009 they were 8-8, 2010 they were 6-10 and in 2011 with harbaurgh they went 13-3 and the nfc championship with basically the same roster.
now im not expecting the eagles to go to the championship mainily because of their d, but i def think going 9-7 or 10-6 and winning the nfc east is possible when you factor in a completly new line (might be top 5 in the NFL) 3 star players returning from injury and a whole new offense that has looked great.
i actually think the afc north is the toughest division to pick. i can see the top 3 teams all winning it or missing the playoffs. ive said what i said about the ravens and think there gonna take a step back so its really up to the bengals and steelers for me. i just dont trust the steelers d or andy dalton at this point. plus hard knocks is making it really hard for me to not root aganist them. final prediction coming on 9/4
I missed the game last night... Was at a concert sunday (Coheed&Cambria/Janes Addiction/Alice in Chains) so I missed Bb/dex etc, used last night to catch up, what happened?
i'd be worried. oline play is one of the things you can determine in a preseason game. if they are struggling with just a 3 or 4 man rush what is going to happen when the blitzes start coming? one of your key points was how the line has so many younng guys who were high draft picks. but you failed to mention if they were any good. do you know who else was a high draft pick? danny watkins. now there getting my boy bell killed out there? how am i supposed to justify overpaying for him in the auction when hes gonna be hurt the whole year?
Peters missed all of last season with a torn Achilles. In his first three seasons (2009-2011), the Eagles ranked second in the NFL in yards per rush (7.0) on runs outside the left tackle. In 2012, the Eagles ranked 26th (3.8 yards/rush) in that same statistic.
Mathis signed with the Eagles in 2011 after an effective stint with the Bengals. In the past five years, Eagles or Bengals rushers have averaged over a half-yard more per rush with Mathis on the field (4.56 yards per rush) than without him (3.96). -- ESPN Stats & Information (@ESPNStatsInfo)

haha oh holmes, the last of a dieing breed: the diva WR. remember when it was cool and typical for WR's to be divas with TO, moss, chad johnson, nick lamarca via flag, etc. now teams are not putting up with their **** and get cut or traded at the first sign of trouble (holmes, marshall) and today most of the big time WR are quiet and humble like calvin, fitz, andre johnson. there's still hope in guys like dez bryant to take back their terrority and reclaim diva WR status!

yes it was. flag is def a top 5 memory for me from college, mainly because the other 4 normally include blacking out so i dont remeber much from those nights.
as you know i now work with forster and we talk all the time about college and recently flag was brought up for some reason and he told me he still talks to anthony gresko a good amount and anthony still brings up flag to him and how much he misses that and us in general. haha i almost completly forgot about him but he was one of a kind. my favorite anthony story was when we told him we were going to play ryan dougherty and the res tower boys in football and then we got to the field and told him it was actually tackle and he alsmot **** his pants hahah. and then the famous "AHHHH" girl shriek the time he almost got hit haha.
speaking of flag and anthony, my 2nd favorite memory was the 1st game of the season in our junior year were coming off the championship game and anthony sees a bunch of black kids in under amor streching and running around and while ppl like me, nick, joe, dougherty, seabolt etc were all laughing and knew we were gonna kill them, anthonys only thought was pure nervousness and the quote "idk fish, they look good. they all got under armor on!" haha, final score was like 34-0.

bostics hit was textbook. that guy has played his whole life for the opprotunity to make that hit in his first preseason, cause a fumble, make the team, get props from his teammate, no penalty.... and now he owes more money than hes ever had in his life.
Jets receiver Santonio Holmes still isn’t practicing, 11 months after suffering a Lisfranc injury in his left foot. But the doctor who treated Holmes’s injury reportedly thinks Holmes could practice if he wanted.
Dr. Robert Anderson, who operated on Holmes, has cleared Holmes to begin football activities, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. Holmes, however, has resisted returning to the field.
According to the report, many people around the Jets think Holmes just wants to avoid having to go through training camp practices. Some around the team think Holmes will suddenly declare himself good to go at the start of the season.
in 3 games jarvis jones has a fumble recovery, forced fumble and an interception. needless to say, this guy is going to be special. troy looked like his 2010 self saturday night too. defense is looking good as ever now if the oline could just get it together...
I think you can argue either Ben and Eli being 5 & 6 interchangeably. Otherwise yeah, he nailed it, no stupid top 5 Flacco and no over ranking of Wilson/Kap
i like it too but i think cutler being ranked 21 is wayyyy too low. all hes done since being traded to the bears is produce. 1st year took them to the nfc championship game and they didnt score once when he got hurt. his 2nd year they looked like the best team in the nfc until he broke his hand and then guess what the team lost every single game after that. and last year they were 10-6 and easily could have made the playoffs. he has good weapons but his line has always been terrible and i think he is way under rated here. i dont know about you guys, but id rather have him over matt schaub and esp andy dalton.
its tough to rank these young qb's. i mean kapernick did take his team to the super bowl so if you wanna use the flacco is a top 10 qb for that reason how is the guy who was 1 play away not get the same judgment? i guess give them 1 more year to prove it again.
speaking of qb's, i heard jaws the other day say kapernick has the potential to be "one of the best qb's ever." remember in the offseason on SC he did a ranking of every starting qb in the nfl and somehow had flacco at like 3. well guess where his potential best qb ever fell on his list? out of the top 10 at #11. SMH
its absolutly impossible to rank any player because they have all had different success, skill sets, teams, stats and everything else. i like the professors list because he didnt make any hash reactions to last years rookies and young players. i think one of those guys can be ranked ahead of schaub but otherwise i think it was the best one so far
Was the first quarter, the contact on his leg was minor too. That leg was going to break one way or another this season, happy it happened now and not 3 weeks into the season
as a steelers fan i thoroughly enjoyed the entire game last night. should have been worse too. denver O looks unstoppable and ravens D looks like ****. even worse their offense didnt look too good either. would never root for injuries but witout jacoby and no pitta, i dont know how many games they can win this year.
