2 things:

1.  all nfc east teams are going to have a relativly rough schedule with having to play the NFC West.  thats 4 tough games right there.  Luckily we get a little break with playing the AFC South.

2. wow, what a way to treat the super bowl champs!

According to a league source, the NFL was wary of putting Seahawks home games on in prime-time due to their track record of blowouts in nationally televised games played in Seattle the last several seasons.

3 road primetime games (2 of them divisional games) and all of them after week 1.

hes only in year 3, so hes got at least this year plus next year left (and maybe one more after that but i dont think so) plus then isnt he restricted? haha.

however, he can offically re-do his deal after next year (need 3 years) which he almost defineitly will.

Hard Knocks has narrowed their list to three potential teams for 2014: Bears, Giants, Steelers.

****.

I'd bet big money that it winds up being the bears... I dunno why, but I got the feeling that the Rooneys and the Maras will flex their NFL legacy muscle and gently "push" the Bears to be the front runners.

But, lets see.

Best personalities from each team if they were to be picked.

Bears: Jay Cutler & Kristen Cavaleri, Brandon Marshall, Jared Allen. All could be prime for some good drama

Steelers: Ben, AB, Troy ( no offense nick but this might be the most boring of all 3 options)

Giants: Victor Cruz, Antrel Rolle, Eli, Walter Thurmond III. Antrel alone would be pure entertainment

Storylines:

Bears: Can the Defense get itself elite? Is Jay Cutler elite? Is Marshall/Jeffrey the best WR duo in the NFL? Jared Allen's first new team in 6 years.

Steelers: Missing the playoffs, Defense getting old, Big Ben, Troy

Giants: Eli looking to bounce back, The large FA signings (Schwartz, DRC, Walter Thurmond III, Robert Ayers), Cruz going from UDFA to superstar, The only Center on the roster having not played in 2 years, John Hankins getting a starting role)

thoughts?

I wont lie, getting that inside look into the Giants workings would be pretty awesome to watch, but I'm definitely willing to live without it as it is obviously a somewhat detrimental thing to have happen to a team.

i would absoloutly LOVE if the eagles were the team on Hard Knocks so I am a little jealous that the giants and stillers are both finailst.  as for the story lines, you guys got one of them right, hot gf/wives which would make you think the bears are in the lead due to culters girl.  however, hard knocks always finds story lines manily in the form of guys you never heard of trying to make the team.  most these big stars dont want cameras following around them for days at a time, but undrafted rookie?  sure why not!  i guarnetee if the giants/steelers are the team a handful of the players that will be the feature on some of the shows will be dudes even you guys have never heard of.

so what will be the deciding factor?  THE COACHES!  who was the main focus for the jets season which made that season so great? rex ryan.  who was the main guy for the dolphins which made that season just ok? philbin.  even last year i would say the 2 main characters were james harrison and then hugh jackson.  with that said, that leaves me to believe the bears will be not a good team to follow due to their coach being plain as bread (danny TM), and while coughlin gets a bad rap for a tough guy i think he would be a better choice but that obviosuly means the front runner will be the steelers with mike tomlin.  i personally think he is awesome and would be great for the show, so that is who i am pulling for.

the problem with tomlin is he absolutely positively doesnt want any part of it. id love to see 5 episodes of the real mike tomlin but i just dont think it will be accurate

"It is a joke and just because it happens to be popular, doesn't mean I have to participate," Tomlin said.

I would love nothing more than to see the steelers on it, but I just dont think it will be "reality"

he might have an issue with it at first, but after the 1st day or 2 he will get over it and he won't even notice them.  a lot of the big scenes happen in their office where the cameras are hidden and you forget about them. what do you think, for an entire month while hes trying to start a new season and shape his roster he's going to "act" for the cameras?

some awesome news for this guy: www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2014/5/5/5683786/sean-spence-given-clean-bill-of-health

spence was a third round MLB pick out of miami. he was called the troy polamau of LBs because of his size and athletisicm. he torn his ACL, MCL, PCL broke his knee cap and suffered nerve damage his first preseason game. if he can come back anywhere near as good as he looked to be he will be a huge rookie for the steelers, even thou he was drafted in 2012.

i watched it, it was pretty awesome.  the show was more about just the qb's also, the main story line after the qb's was stephen jackson falling and i remember exactly where i was when this happened.  it was kinda like when the eagles traded up in 2010 or 2011 and i thought they were getting earl thomas but instead drafted brandon graham, back in 2004 the eagles traded up to what i thought was for sure jackson to go along with westbrook but instead got frigging shaun andrews.  i was not happy but as an eagles homer i quickly talked myself into it, but as history shows andrews had all the potential in the world but ended up being a bust.  thankfully dallas didnt draft him (they really needed a RB at the time) and instead traded back for extra picks that probably turned into nothing and ended up with juluis jones as their franchise RB haha.

a few other things i thought were extremely interesting:

- ernie drafted rivers without a guarnetee that the chargers would trade them eli.  talk about a risky move esp when he admitted him wanted big ben more.

- jaws said he had jp loseman rated higher than rivers.  keep this in mind while he's calling manziel a 3rd round talent.

- after larry fitzgerald at #3 those WR were AWFUL!  i think 6 or 7 wr's were taken in that 1st round and none of them after fitz became a #1 wr at any point in their career and 1 of them i never even heard of (woods?).

- jeez the "U" was stacked that year in college.  they had like 4 or 5 guys play 10 plus years in the NFL and this including disapointments with their best 2 guys in sean taylor (premature death but on pace for all time greatness) and winslow (injuries) both should of had better careers if not for outside factors.

1) Jaws is worthless. I can't stand him.

2)I love that draft, my buddy is a Cowboys fan and he points to this draft as easily the most painful in recent memory.

3)Woof: Roy Williams, Reggie Williams, Lee Evans, Michael Clayton, Michael Molasses Jenkins- That is a ridiculous amount of 1st round bust WRs

4)Notable undrafted free agents front his draft:
Buffalo Bills Jason Peters† TE/OT Arkansas SEC
Green Bay Packers Vonta Leach† FB East Carolina C-USA
Green Bay Packers Cullen Jenkins† DT Central Michigan MAC
Oakland Raiders Tommy Kelly† DT Mississippi State SEC
Pittsburgh Steelers Willie Parker† RB North Carolina ACC
San Diego Chargers Wes Welker† WR Texas Tech Big 12

5)JEEZE 6 first round U players... when was the last time one even went in the first round! FOUND IT! DUH! Kenny Phillips to the Giants in 2008

This is a wild stat....

Larry Fitzgerald has only 5 more career receptions than Wes Welker but has more than 2,000 career yards

ya wes was featured in the show last night as well.  it was funny cuz one of his Texas Tech WR teammates was drafted and he wasn't.  the catches/yards thing is funny but not totally surprising considering 8 out of every 10 wes welker catch is a 8-12 yard gain where fitz is much more a deep threat.  whats more crazy is just imagine fitz played with the qbs that welker had and vise versa and imagine the stats then!

Roger Goodell had a twitter Q&A the other day.  One of the questions was:

Question: If I want to be an NFL head coach one day, what should I take in college?

Goodell Answer: Leadership

didn't know they offered leadership class at towson, guess we went to the wrong school!

I could see the 1st rounder happen. It's inevitably going to be a late 20 early 30 pick with those two teams. So why not.

49ers have crabtree and boldin plus just traded for stevie johnson, where would they all play if they got andre on top of that?  1st rounder is way too high, these are the type of teams who trade away a 4th or 5th rounder for an old vet (moss, welker, boldin, stevie johnson, etc) not a high pick.

my guess is andre isnt going anywhere.

power of the nfl example 10,347: it is may 20th, 2 months away from training camp and over 3 months from a regular season game.  both hockey and nba have CONFERENCE finals taking place as well as baseball regular season and what is on the front page on espn.com?  a picture of teddy bridewater during rookie minicamp drills.  unreal.

Im jp, sort of, I like shady a lot and think AP is on the backside of his career. with so many touches and such a big contract Im not sure how much longer he will be in minnesota. i think the all around back (charles/shady/bell) is the new era of RBs but its not fair to guys like AP who is one of the most dominant runners of all time.

i'm not getting into an AP vs mccoy debate, but this whole his career is better thing isn't a good argument either when you are discussing BEST RIGHT NOW.  yes, a player can overtake a player after 1 season, and no what he did 2-3 years ago doesnt always matter either.  this isn't a qb thing where they can play great until their late 30's, with a RB one year they are a top 5 player and the next they are getting backup money (see cj2k).

mccoy clearly had a better year last year and wouldnt surprise me if he did again next year as well.  with that said, i would still give the nod to AP slightly ahead of mccoy as of now, but its eventually going to change esp with AP being 4 years older but let's see who you guys go after harder in next years fantasy draft to see who you really think is going to have the better year.

I wish.

Agree as well AP on the downturn and Shady just hitting his peak, but that means Shady's time is coming to and end as well.

so the steelers are putting out a 5 part video on their 2014 draft process. its not all that different from hark knocks except it only focuses on the decision makers leading up to the draft. the second part came out today, and they had a cool little piece info.

apparently they have a shared scouting team that scouts only underclassmen. meaning they are scouting freshmen and sophmores. how do they cover all these guys you might ask? BLESTO of course.

Bills
Lions
Eagles
Steelers
Talent
Organization

each team takes a portion of the country and scounts underclassmen then they share the info. pretty cool and something i never knew.

sorry there isnt one for your teams but if you want to check out the steelers you can watch. part 2 is a little more interesting than part 1

part 1: http://www.steelers.com/video-and-audio/videos/Countdown_2013_Ends_Draft_Season_Begins/a9149c0c-1473-41ec-82cc-838ddea184fa

part 2: www.steelers.com/video-and-audio/videos/Countdown-Pro-Days-Free-Agency-and-Interviews/039cf9c6-7c8c-4f2e-8fe9-eef15e8ea052

"On Christmas Eve, 2013, Johnny Manziel sent me a Instagram photo of himself naked to my Facebook with Manziel putting a hotdog bun between his penis, smiling and calling me "Ho, Ho, Ho".

...

"During last years Hotdog Eating contest Defendant Manziel sent me a naked photo with a ruled next to his erect penis that measured 4.5 inches, while holding up a sign that said "you know you want me Samantha."

...

"Manziel told me his penis was mine and to call him "Long Johnny Silver"

hahahaaaaaahaha its a hoax but it was submitted to the court system

*** tore his ACL in his right knee in 2008 (during non-contact spring football) and partially tore his left ACL the following year in 2009. Since joining the NFL he has dislocated his left wrist in 2011. In 2012 he missed 10 games needing surgery on his toe and he missed 5 games with a neck injury in 2013. Now he has torn his left ACL in non-contact OTAs. Has missed 34 games in 5 years (18 in 4 years and 16 likely this year).

is this player a) mike vick or b) sean lee?

haha ya seriously.  well as much as i hate the cowboys i dont like seeing other guys get hurt esp in the offseason.  with that said, i dont see how the cowboys improve from last years 8-8 record unless their offense becomes the 2013 denver broncos.  they had one of the worst d's in football last year and they have since then lost ware, hatcher and now lee which were 3 of the best (if not the best) players on that bad defense.  good luck playing chip kelly twice next year!

cowboys suck. they have done nothing to get better and their terrible defense has gotten significantly worse.

even on offense, dez B and witten are the only players scaring people. they have no cap room, drafted a T (fine but hes not turning your franchise around), a lame duck coach and no GM. ya good luck with that.

reports are they were pissed they missed out on shazier when steelers took him one spot ahead. that blow looks even worse now with the loss of lee
