this year the schedule is much tougher, facing the NFC West and then having a 1st place schedule.  Luckily all of the NFC east faces the West so we all are going to have some tough games, hopefully we can split in the west and do work in division and come out as nfc east champs again and hope to get some favorable matchups in the playoffs.

ouuhuuhhhhhuuuuu Im looking forward to the iggles facing all 4 of those defenses!

so I ask for your top 5 and you give me 7 in no order?  and Timmons?  come on now

if I'm doing my top 5 it looks like this:

5. bobby wagner

4. derrick johnson

3. luke kuechley

2. daryl Washington (I know hes out for the whole year but this is where he would be)

1. willis

*bowman and kiko alonso (and maybe sean lee) would be in here as well but they will most likely miss the whole year with a bad injury so they're out for now

yours was not in order, which was the whole point of my question.  I was mainly seeing how high you had Washington.  I was watching a part of the top 100 last night n he was ranked in the high 90's which I thought was crazy since I think he's a top 2 ILB.

also, I have 5 with 3 injuries, pretty crazy to think 3 of the best players in this position are already out for the year.

washington is great but im not sure about #2. when healthy bowman is def better and i like wagner more too.

ill give u timmons and kuechly has to prove he can do it for more than a year so i guess washington can go at 4 for me if ur gonna twist my arm

smh these hos aint loyal

When the three of them went to Sapp’s home, however, Franklin was “yelling, slamming doors and refused to stop when asked,” according to the police report. That led Bowers and Sapp to call the police. When police arrived, they found Franklin in Sapp’s neighbor’s yard, and according to the report she told police she “did not have anywhere else to go and was planning on sleeping in the woods.”

i think chiefs give him a bump. the dude is a top 3 RB in his prime and was absolutely run into the ground last season. he had the most carries AND most catches of any RB. RBs have a very small window to get paid and 3.9m is grossly undepaid for JC. i understand why hes doing it and i think they work something out.

my guess is he holds out for a week or 2, doesn't get a contract extension during that time, but comes back to camp and gets one before week 1.  reminds me of the desean Jackson situation a few years ago with the eagles.

also, I just read the redskins o coordinator is 28 years old.  WTF, I am so jealous now.  chip and billy davis better be able to outsmart a 28 year old come regular season. here is what this douche looks like:

espn.go.com/blog/denver-broncos/post/_/id/7400/peyton-manning-top-qb-in-new-madden

only gives the rating of the top QBs... manning and rodgers 98, brees 96 and brady and wilson 93.

i think it says more about brady than wilson. id say wilson at 93 is about spot on for a SB winning QB. with the last update he was a 90.

thats gotta be the lowest brady has been rated in over a decade. he aint what he used to be but hes still good. crazy how him and manning are getting so old i wonder how much longer we have to watch their greatness?

I get that bradys stats were down last year, but the pats had nobody for him to throw to esp after gronk went down.  he lost wes welker, aaron hernadez, and gronk for most of the year, what do you expect him to do with a bunch of rookie/2nd year wr's and danny amendola?  plus half the d was hurt meaning he had to basically carried the team who btw made it to the AFC championship game.  I just don't see too many other qbs being able to do that, maybe aaron Rodgers and that's it.

my main point is, if you were to switch Wilson for brady do the pats get that far in the playoffs?  I doubt it.

now odell beckham?! this is one of two signs

a) the gmen are snakebitten by injuries this season and will have a lot to deal with

2) they are getting all the injuries out of the way early and will be the healthiest team in the league come this season!

Eh, not too worried, I never expected much from Snee to begin with, so I'm not sweating his loss.

Beason is expected back soon.

McClain is fine, already back at practice.

Everyone else who left the field yesterday was because of heat related issues.

Beckham has had that injury since OTA's nothing new unfortunately

biggest training camp battles for your team?

steelers:

WR: AB is set as the #1 and lance moore as the slot receiver. last years 3rd round rookie markus wheaton looked good in limited time and martavius bryant has the measurables to be a beast. another sleeper justin brown will be battling it out with heyward-bey for the final WR roster spot, assuming they keep 5 since dri archer is a hybrid.

ILB: timmons is an obvious start. next to him will likely be first rounder ryan shazier but last years rookie starter vince wiliams is still around, and 3rd round pick from 3 years ago who was injured so bad in the preseason that hes just now healthy was supposed to be a beast. add in arthur moats and rookie jordan zumwalt to battle terrance "break the bengals punters face" garvin and you got yourself a hell of a battle.

DE: "wreck it" heyward (looks like wreck it ralph) turned the F up last season and may just be the steelers best defensive player other than troy. on the other side we lost ziggy hood and kiesel. hopefully second round pick stephon tuitt can step up and take it as a rookie but more likely FA pickup cam thomas will be the man to start the season.

CB: cortez will try to take ikes spot but otherwise there really arent many other position battles this season.

RB: this is more a battle for touches than anything. leveon bell broke franco harris record for most yards from scrimmage last seaon and he missed three games. bring in blounts crazy playoffs from last season plus the fastest man in the draft, second fastest at the combine ever, and you got a strong backfield. at this point last year our backfield was bell, isaac redman, jon dwyer and felix jones ROTFLMAO

LETS DO THIS

any list that has Patrick willis as the 5th best inside LB as well as 3 guys who will miss most or all of next season is not a list I will give much value towards.

I understand not putting Washington in the top 10 due to the suspension but dansby was not the better ILB for the cardinals (let alone the 2nd best player at that position), and is why they let him walk and paid Washington.

eagles don't have very many battles that I can think of, at least not for starters roles.

everyone on offense is coming back minus desean who maclin will take over for.  rookie Jordan Mathews should also fill in either there or in the slot.

the entire oline is back but lane Johnson is suspended the first 4 games so I guess part time RT is up for grabs at the moment but again I think the eagles have a good idea on who's going to fill that role.

on defense, every starter is back other than safety where they signed malcom Jenkins so he's obviously going to take over there.  I guess the other safety spot with nate allen and 2nd year earl wolfe is the only true competition for a starting role.

literally everything else is for backup roles and making the roster (like BG vs our 1st rounder smith).  lets hope there are no major injuries!

if true this is ridiculous.

"According to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports, Rice is expected to get a two-game suspension, though no official announcement has been made."

a guy can get 4 games for using adderall or a year for weed and this guy gets off with 2 games for knokcing out his fiance??

im sure something happened iin that bathroom between big ben and that girl but there were never any charges filed, never any arrests made, never any court appearances or plea deals and ben got 4 games. there is video of this, rice was arrested, went to court and weaseled his way out of it with some therapy?

it just doesnt make ANY sense how these punishments are handed out. guys get suspended almost as long for making illegal tackles on the field.

Florio nailed it with this gem: But perhaps more poignantly, he’ll be back on the field by October, when the NFL wraps itself in pink to remind us how valuable their female customers are to them.

plus this: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/24/fred-davis-accused-of-throwing-dirt-at-ex-girlfriend/

“He told me that he would hit me and he referred to my friend as the ‘infamous rapper’ 2 Chainz,” Arandid said regarding Davis, with whom she has a “brief romantic history.”

“He came out of nowhere, pushes my shoulder down, twists my body so my backside was facing my friend and that’s when he said, ‘What are you even doing with her? She ain’t got no ass. Look at her,’” Arandid said.

Embarrassed by the incident, Arandid said she went outside for a cigarette. Davis allegedly followed her, grabbing “a handful of dirt from a pot that was hanging from [a] railing and throw[ing] it at me,” she said.

its become comical some of these situations guys put themselves in

I mean to be fair, theres been a handful of times where my friends have become a bit too drunk and have peed on some of our lady friends. Had they been athletes/celebrities you know that would be national news.

Some of the stuff is ridiculous for sure, and if you're pulling in that much dough I think it's reasonable to think "ok for 10 years I'll cut the ****, make my millions then once I'm done I'll ball out and enjoy"

So dumb, yet in reality is it realllllly that much different then us?

Blackmon is still suspended indefinitely and this sure doesn't help.  if he's not out for the year he most likely will be after this arrest.  being out for 2 years probably means his career is all but over even if he does get another chance because he will be out of shape.  to stay in the league you have to train and work hard, while he is probably doing the opposite by drinking and smoking weed.  pretty sad, he had a lot of talent, but that's what happens when you go to Jacksonville, that lift style is too much for people.

fred davis is just a nut case and his career is definitely over.  nobody wants to deal with someone who consistently gets himself into stupid trouble like this.  funny he was actually franchise tagged last year and now probably won't get another chance.

the ray rice suspension is dumb but to be honest I don't really care.  yes I agree when you compare it to the Adderall/weed punishments it looks bad, but I think that reflects more on the NFL's drug policy is so out dated. its so dumb that these guys get suspended a quarter of the season for that, it should be a game or 2.

your friends pee on ur lady friends? hahaaahahahahahahaha

i agree with you and im the first person to do dumb **** when im drunk but it usually only affects myself. ive never kicked a girl out of my house when shes 1000 miles from home or thrown dirt on one. these guys need to understand their in the spotlight and stuff like this will get out.

doesnt make it any less funny haha

Exactly, while anyone can do anything stupid while drunk, you'd figure they'd have the intelligence to say "Okay I'm at least a pseudo-celebrity most anything and everything I do can become national news in a second, I'm making bank and should probably keep it DL as much as possible"

NOPE

some of the better comments:

$59.95 plus $7.95 slapping and handling

Wow, thats a Knock-out price !

Only ships internationally due to domestic handling

You cant beat these prices with a fist…I mean stick

$94.95? Not even Ray Rice can beat that price. Smashing good deal.

What’s the first thing you should do after buying your Ray Rice gear?
The dishes if you know what’s good for you!

Next they’ll be selling Josh Gordon vodka with a complementary fake driver’s license.

Just ship those off to a third world country along with the 2014 Broncos Championship gear.

A gift like hat will really knock her off her feet!

Too bad I can’t afford this right now….
I’m trying to save up for that awesome “Ray Lewis Steak Knife Set”.

hahaha ohhh mann this is like 2008 PFT when taco bill was still around

worst contract in NFL (safety)

agree or disagree?

Safety: Troy Polamalu, Steelers
Contract Flaw: Ever Fallen in Love With a Player You Shouldn’t Have?

Nobody doubts Polamalu’s legacy as an all-time great Steelers defender and a likely future Hall of Famer, but the former USC star simply isn’t the player he once was, as he lacks the range to play the rover role he perfected under Dick LeBeau and is often reduced to relying on his instincts and film study to guess how a play will turn out, with little chance of recovering if his guesses are wrong. A capped-out Steelers team probably shouldn’t have given Polamalu an extension in 2011, but they did themselves no favors by restructuring the 33-year-old’s deal this offseason to pay him $22.6 million through 2016.

is he too highly paid in a vaccuum? prolly. but they didnt add any money to his contract this offseason they just extended it for some relief. they were cap strapped at the time but after woodleys contract came off the books 6/1 they had, and still have, plenty.

theyre not gonna just cut the guy. not only do they have a rookie behind him but he had a great pro bowl season last year when he was able to play a full 16 games. hes easily the best safety on the team and while you dont want to pay guys for past performance, troy has earned every dollar of that contract.

they wouldnt have signed tj ward or malcolm jenkins, so why move on? they have $6.4m right now in cap space so its really not hurting anything.

another day another giant injury, injury bug hitting them early and often in 2014!

this time its david Wilson hurting his neck again. not sure how bad it is, but not its never a good thing to reinjure your neck after almost having to retire from that same injury.

They called it a burner (something to do with a pinched neck nerve) usually it's not serious but being he just had spinal surgery they're being especially careful. Hope he's okay he's a good dude and a lot of fun to watch with the ball in his hands (especially when he's able to not fumble it)

jesus.  I haven't heard of an 8 year deal for an nfl player in a long time, esp for a non qb.  the guy is young tho, I think hes like 23.

with that said, knowing the cowboys I bet this gets re-done 3-4 times before the contract is over

DT Cullen Jenkins said that he wouldn't allow his family to sit in the stands in Philly while he was a player for the Eagles because the fans are that bad... His family sat in the stands while he played for the Packers and now with the Giants.

first preseason game in the books. well second for the giants....

steelers winners and losers:

winners
---------

Sean spence: not sure if you guys know the story but spence was a 3rd round pick 2 years ago and suffered a torn acl, mcl, pcl and nerve damage in his knee during his first preseason. obviously he missed that season but he couldnt play last season either. the steelers kept him on the roster just in case... and it looks like it will pay off. he got the start saturday with shazier out (over last years starter vince williams) and he was an absolute beast. steelers starting LBs are not only coming on (3 first rounders and a second) but their depth is unreal. wouldnt be surprised if thye play 5 LB sets this year with cam heyward and ....

Stephon Tuitt and dan mccullers: both rookie DLinemen. tuitt got the start saturday and did well. mccullers is 6'8 348, meaning hes big. no one pushed him around.

shamarko thomas and mike mitchell: the safety position is in good hands this year and in the future. both these 2 can hit (they were laying the wood saturday) and are fast as hell. also, remember this name - jordan dangerfield - an UDFA out of TOWSON STATE UNIVERSITY is making a serious push to make this team.

howard jones: speaking of UDFAs, steelers paid extra to secure jones this offseason. word is several teams were pushing for him. he had 3 ST tackles, 2 recovered fumbles and a defensive TD.

dri archer: ahem. first touch from scrimmage a 46 yard screen. well played, sir.

losers
-------

martavus bryant: yikes! two muffed punts, a dropped pass and a fumble on his only catch. ay carumba this dude wasnt a second round pick but his first game made limas sweed look good.

will allen: in relation to shamarko and mitchell plus dangerfield, allen is no longer guarenteed a spot on this team. terrible play on that 74 yard TD.

mike adams: ugh this guy is a bust there is no way around it. spent more time on the ground than on his feet. NEXT!

obviously its only preseason but this is what youre loooking for in preseason games. other than the loss I think the steelres starters look juuuust fine. couldnt be more excited for this season.

howard jones: speaking of UDFAs, steelers paid extra to secure jones this offseason. word is several teams were pushing for him. he had 3 ST tackles, 2 recovered fumbles and a defensive TD.

dri archer: ahem. first touch from scrimmage a 46 yard screen. well played, sir.

losers

martavus bryant: yikes! two muffed punts, a dropped pass and a fumble on his only catch. ay carumba this dude wasnt a second round pick but his first game made limas sweed look good.

will allen: in relation to shamarko and mitchell plus dangerfield, allen is no longer guarenteed a spot on this team. terrible play on that 74 yard TD.

mike adams: ugh this guy is a bust there is no way around it. spent more time on the ground than on his feet. NEXT!

obviously its only preseason but this is what youre loooking for in preseason games. other than the loss I think the steelres starters look juuuust fine. couldnt be more excited for this season.
