Josh, i know your good with players in the NFL, now let's see how you do with owners! (nick you can try if you think you can get more than 10)
the game is simple, name every owner for each team (honor system of course). I was 27 out of 32 missing the bears, 49ers, chiefs, chargers and texans although after looking them up the only one i never heard of was the bears.
note, a few have died recently so you can use that person's family for the time being.
bonus, i was able to name 12 of the 30 NBA owners, so lets see how you do with that as well!
very impressive with the NFL owners, tom benson is the saints (and NO pelicans) owner. i still don't know who the bears owner is, its an old woman? she cant have too much control over the major decisions i would think.
NBA is much tough, a lot of new guys. i think there are 5 new owners in the last 3 or 4 years. here is who i knew:
yep thats a big time duh on the bobcats.... The only reason i knew who Halas was is the GHS they have on their jersey's I knew that stood for George Halas, took a stab. Kronke sounds familiar for Denver. rest i had no clue.
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer won a bidding war for ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers with his $2 billion offer, according to the Los Angeles Times.
ya saw this last night, pretty crazy an NBA team is going for 2 billion.
When Forbes did their estimates for franchise worth they had the clippers at $575 million. Only off by $1.425 billion forbes SMH. I just think they really under valued the LA market and how much NBA teams price tag has risen since the lock out. The Sixers sold for under $300 million a few years ago so this is crazy.
If NBA teams are selling for this kind of money makes you wonder how much a big time NFL team would sell for.
haha no way. knicks are def #1-2 (them or lakers) but i would guess 2.5bil range after seeing the bucks sell for close to $600mil n then the clippers. not that many people in this country have that kind of money to blow on an NBA team.
PK startin a new game. Putting odds on the next owner who's gonna die, well kinda:
Oct. 21: Tennessee owner Bud Adams, 90. March 9: Detroit owner William Clay Ford, 88. March 25: Buffalo owner Ralph Wilson, 95. May 28: Tampa Bay owner Malcolm Glazer, 85.
And the aging: Virginia McCaskey (Chicago) 91, Alex Spanos (San Diego) 90, Tom Benson (New Orleans) 86, Dan Rooney (Pittsburgh) 81, Bill Bidwill (Arizona) 82, Mike Brown (Cincinnati) 78, Jerry Richardson (Carolina) 77, Bob McNair (Houston) 76, Stephen Ross (Miami) 74, Robert Kraft (New England) 73 on Thursday, Jerry Jones (Dallas) 71, Arthur Blank (Atlanta) 71 and Pat Bowlen (Denver) 70.
