I think the argument we made was that you can't pick up say Roddy White for a dollar and keep him for 2 the next year. You can pick him up but to keep him you need to keep him at 2x the drafted value no matter what. Which worked out well for Mouth in this situation.
the keeper rule was you can keep him for double either the drafted spot or the pick up spot if he was not drafted. in monte balls situation he was not drafted so he goes off the pick up $, but it doesn't work out for someone like Julio jones was was drafted for like $50 but then picked up for $1. that's the difference
no I know but that wasnt my question. i thought we set a deadline (which i thought was the start of the playoffs) where anyone picked up after that time couldnt be kept. it prevented guys from dumping their entire team to pick up prospective keepers, even if those keepers were guys no one wanted at the time.
mikey was deadset on making points for jeffery work but we realized there was just no way. he wanted to pay less than face value for alshon and i didnt want to receive less, and even then wasnt sold on the idea.
i think only way that works is if people swap keepers and then can add some cash to sweeten the pot. you looking to offload maclin already?
i will say im gonna miss alshons 250 yard games. him vs maclin would have been great to watch but i gotta do whats best for my team
the more I thought about it the more it wouldn't work so forget this idea. if there was a trade to be made NFL.com doesn't allow me to add more $ in the auction for somebody so it wouldn't work.
this trade is pretty telling. im guessing alshon n bell probably would have went for about the same money so you have more faith in an injury prone RB behind a bad oline over what you thought was a top 5-10 wr?
Pshh hows it out of hand? I could've (this year at least) kept Olsen and Vereen for a combined $6. I should be rewarded for that.... Or even if Gordon isn't suspended at most $12 for 2 guys, I'm just saying the option is there!
if after the draft people enjoyed this keeper system and it is not a huge pain in the ass doing it on NFL.com I would def consider 2 keepers if everyone liked that idea.
the #1 thing is everyone needs to be on time and #2 is to pay attention.
I am going to email everyone the day before AND the day of the draft letting everyone know who is a kepper and who NOT to bid on. Then during the 1st round I can pause the draft and I will make it every clear to not bid on that specific person. but again, everyone has to be in the room on time for it otherwise the computer will screw it up.
erm and mikey are bad and paul usually waits til 2 minutes before to sign on and usually has computer issues so hopefully everyone can sign on 15 min before since we're starting so late.
also, josh idk your boys situation but hopefully he doesn't have any issues as well wherever is he doing it from
TBA:
Forster: We all know he aint keeping ****.
Me: All depends on the Gordon Verdict.
Kearns: This is actually not as cut and dry as I thought. AB at $18 isn't terrible, Foles at $2 is a steal but so is Toby Gerhart at $4. My money is still on Nick Foles though.
Ermyas: Cutler or Mathews. Something tells me Erm goes the RB route for sure.
Paul: Joique Bell @ $2 seems to be the only reasonable option here.
New Mike: I still say Rudolph @$4
Mouth: If we do allow the post playoff push pick up then it's $28 for Montee... We need to talk about this.
I'm just realizing we're like the illuminati of the fantasy league, controlling the happenings from behind the scenes.
haha the last line is so true. its more like the commissioner committee, since fish has proven time and time again that he cant handle the responsibilities by himself. just joking fish, relax.
im keeping high and tight martellus if im forster. its not a steal but its prolly less than he would get him for otherwise

what sucks for me is my other league the draft is the day before ours. so basically I have nothing to do for all of august other than what I normally do and then all of a sudden, 2 days before the season starts, I have 2 huge leagues to prepare for.
they wont be suspended any games this season. gotta let the trial process run its course first. if anything steelers would suspend him a game but i doubt that. im dissapointed by these guys but reading the internets you would think they killed someone.
these things pass over very quicky. the DUI is a bigger deal than the weed since its their first offense but jerome simpson was just suspended from his DUI from last november. if anything they will be suspended one game next season.
i dont even care about the fantasy ramifications. im more worried about the steelers who finally put everything together and were ready for a great season then these 2 idiots get arrested 2 weeks before it starts.
the worst part about this is that a) they were on their way to the airport to board a team plane meaning at the very least coaches and management were present and b) they might have to carry an extra RB now just in case which means they have to cut someone at another position. these guys caused a young player like josh mauro who worked his ass off over the preseason to go to the practice squad becuase they need his roster spot for no reason.
in the end, like i said no one remembers players first offense and the punishment wont be bad. i would like to smoke with these guys thou im sure that was some fya!!
good point but bowe was also arrested in november and his case was finished in april
plus bowe has been in the news before: "Bowe was previously suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances in 2009."

Had my first draft last night, interesting results. Debating sharing it with you as it's a Snake and no where near representative of where I want to go in our draft.
that's not too bad, I actually like 3-4 of those guys.
gronk obviously has huge potential but theres always the injury factor.
cooks could also put up huge numbers but he is still a rookie so it might take some time. he'd be a good potential keeper in our league unless he gets bid up.
