luck out 2-6 weeks.  obviously injuries happen, but does brajers $50 bid for him go down as the worst auction move in our history? we said the day after the draft it was a horrible move just from a money to QB standpoint, and now production wise it looks even worse!

I texted brajer the news and he responded "worst pick in auction league history."

so I guess we have our answer haha

to be honest, not really, but it was more cuz cousins is playing the saints who let mariotta throw for 400 and 3tds last week and I think eli had 6-7 tds the week before so might as well give it a shot.

with Bradford, while he has looked better he still isn't putting up good fantasy numbers.  the running game is carrying this team and the dolphins don't have a good run D so I expect a few rushing tds from murray/Matthews and not too many passing tds.  until Bradford starts converting in the redzone with tds I don't have confidence in him fantasy wise.

anyways, as for other teams... the 3 of us killed it obviously. josh got some great values which allowed him to be pretty stacked across the board, forsett as your flex is huge. im one of the ppl wayyyy down on peyton this year. he could bounce back but i think its equally possible hes done. fishs WR corps are the best in our league, but youre putting a lot of stock in gurleys knee. every team has quesion marks so no need to worry.

 toot toot

EDIT: and now hes got planter fasciatus?! woah. that could be the last we have ever seen from peyton. the afc playoff race is shaping up to be an epic one, its just too bad someone has to win the afcs and get a home game.

not that I really care anymore but looks like the 6th spot is completely up for grabs heading into the last week of the season.  such a weird year with 2 of us def being out and maybe all 3.  freaking paul tied for 2nd record wise as well. how you guys like your chances?

last week killed me. i left more points on my bench than my team scored. cant do much about romo getting injured again but demarco has ****ed me over too many times now and everytime i play maclin he gets me about 6, but when i bench him its always double digits. i had a points lead over mikey entering the weekend but thats gone now. WIN OR GO HOME!!

got a ****ty pull in nickerson team thou. fish i think the matchups reset after week 11 cause i played erm then kearns week 1-2 and now i got you and nickerson.

what an awful year for all of us.  at least danny's big mouth once again doesn't make it past round 1 of the playoffs with a stellar 60 point performance.  first it was last year when he declared himself the favorite and said my team sucked only he missed the playoffs and I finished the regular season with the best record, and then this year which has clearly been my worst year in awhile, danny outscored my team by a whole 20 points, and like I said he doesn't make it to the money rounds haha.

speaking of the league, I just noticed how close the points for was for everyone, 32 points was the difference between 4th place and 9th yet somehow I finished in 10th and someone like paul finishes in 3rd.  but that's fantasy for you! between that, going all in on sam Bradford, and making a big trade for big ben only to see him get hurt the game after, made me really sour on fantasy even more this year.

it was a very quiet year as well, not much talk on this thread and even less on the email chain.  I need to bring back the smack talking stories but kinda hard to do when your team is in the bottom 3 all year no.

i take it fricone lost last night? I heard it was going down to the wire. nothing like 2 bad teams racking up points to end your fantasy year.

so, whos left?

nickerson vs forster.

fricione lost to forster last night by 1.34 points and my old player calvin Johnson got him 1.9 points vs that vaunted saints D.  as you guys might remember, I traded him Johnson weeks ago, and on thanksgiving after he tore up the eagles joe texted me, "I hope you have a Mega Thanksgiving!" so you're damn right I texted him last night "I hope you have a Mega Xmas!" hahah.

little bit of schadenfreude for me there, prior to that Calvin trade me and Joe had a Roethlisberger based trade agreed upon and a handshake commitment. He bailed out and traded him to you instead, so in the end Mouth Karma bites ya!

haha yup.  looking back on the trade I'm still sure if it helped me or hurt me.  calvin had a big game or 2 (namely vs the eagles) but also had a lot of no shows, to recap:

I received:

- Big ben:  Played like a top 5 QB when healthy, problem was he wasn't always healthy when I had him and it mattered

- Ryan Mathews: Had a few quality games with me and I knew he would eventually become the starter (he did last week vs the bills) problem was he was hurt for 3 games in the middle of that which killed me

- Travis Kelce: Decent starting TE although didn't have much impact.

Joe Got:

- Calvin.  Other than the eagles game he didn't really do much post trade.

- Dion Lewis: Had 1 big game post trade then tore his ACL

- Crocket Gilmore: I think joe cut him right after the trade.

this is why I hate making trades.  I think about it for hours, kill myself week after week thinking I made the wrong move, and in the end it probably didn't have any impact haha

joe also pointed out to me forster had tim hightower who on the last play of the game caught a meaningless screen pass and got like 20 yards off it and then didn't even decide to pitch it backwards and lose a fumble on it haha.

again, joe lost by 1.34 points.  he is PISSED and forster is no longer allowed to complain about bad fantasy luck which I made him aware of that.

I'm pretty sure that Hightower checked out box score and knew exactly how many yards he needed. He didn't even attempt to pitch it, rather just took his 20 yards and got tackled 50 yards from the end zone in a one score game.

josh did you pay nickerson already for fantasy?  I saw something on venmo that you paid him for fantasy but not sure which league you were talking about.  also, how does mike plan on paying me?

nick, do you have venmo?  if yes, send me over the $100

So remember on draft day lil Mikey and his bold bets? Well apparently he owes new Mike $300 from multiple leagues and he owes me the $50 from this one. He of course wants to double or nothing it already.

haha thats funny, I remember the draft day bets and how fired up he was.

with that said, he was such a pain in the ass this year with me, I finally got the money yesterday, a full week after everyone else, and I had to text him 3-4 different times.  I thought with venmo it was going to be quick and easy to get/give everyone their money, and it was... besides him.  after ignoring 3 different texts of mine he finally texted me back yesterday saying "relax bro, you will get your money."  sorry mike, when I have to text you 4 different days to do something that takes probably 15 seconds to do (venmo) it gets pretty frustrating esp with his history of never wanting to pay up.

ill never forget the year he went like 14-2 and had me the first round of the playoffs ( i was the 6 seed). he immediately bet me the entry fee and although i didnt love the bet I can never say no.

needless to say I beat him and he was out an extra $100 plus his great season was down the drain haha. that was the easiest entry fee ive ever had to pay!

So what week will you be choosing to be the week that we choose our keepers from? Week 13?

Either of you possibly interested in taking over a team in my home league? $120 buy in, $15 per week prize to whoever has the weeks highest score, $3 per loss charge with the pot going to to whoever has the most points for at the end of the league.
2 keepers, 12 man league, snake draft. Would be able to choose from the following keepers:

Peyton Manning - 3rd Round Keeper
Justin Forsett - 1st Round Keeper
Chris Johnson - 10th Round Keeper
Andre Ellington - 2nd Round Keeper
Golden Tate - 5th Round Keeper
Brandin Cooks - 6th Round Keeper
Anquan Boldin - 7th Round Keeper
James Jones - 8th Round Keeper
Reuben Randle - 10th Round Keeper

Ugly I know.

Let me know if you have any questions

I'd do it. Would you have to keep 2 guys? That team looks awful, only keepers would be Cooks in the 6th, maybe Tate if you had to in the 5th.

I have one rule change that I feel very strongly about. starting this year there will be no RES spot. ppl that kept benjamin and nelson in their RES spot all year to have him for $1 worked the system, but there is absolutely no penalty for that. if you want to do it fine, but he has to take up a bench spot all year.

Seconded 100000000%, it pissed me off to no end.

Only other possible rule change i'd throw out is a 2nd keeper, but I know thats generally not popular

activated and I removed the res spot. I agree as well, and I even remember not liking this in the 1st place but I remember people complaining that they wanted it but it became a loop hole for keepers.

josh, let me know when you have the keeper list worked up and I might have a spreadsheet thing if u need it

Twice as much as they were drafted for

3x as much if it's their 2nd time keeping him

If the guy was picked up on the waiver wire, he must go off the HIGHER of his drafted $ amount or what his waiver wise pick up was

So can we forbid Forster from Keeping Jordy for $4 and Paul from keeping Kelvin for $2? It really violates the spirit of the whole draft IMO....

i think since it was a rule at the time and they took advantage theres nothing we can do about it. remove it so no once can do it next year but i even kept romo and bell in that spot for a while during the season to save them as keepers so where do you draw the line?

So what's your thoughts on everyone's keepers? I think we have a few obvious ones... OBJ, David Johnson, the two IR guys... But a few interesting ones. Possibly Erm keeping Winston? My team full of dog ****? Will nick keep lev bell? What will Kearns do?

my big concern is whether bells appeal will be decided on by the 22/23rd. they hear it the 18th so they gotta move quick!

david johnsons in keeper status? damn.

draft is finally set, man was that a pain in the ass.  watch braj or someone last minute need it changed again or something smh.

with that said, it's time to start doing some research!  espn is currently doing 28 straight hours of fantasy coverage and I listened to a bit of that, is that why you took off work today nick?

here's my fantasy waiver wire action from this past week:

- drafted steve smith because I thought he was going to have a decent year.  dropped him a few weeks ago because he was getting off to a slow start and I needed a quicker upgrade.  he goes off for 130 yard and a td last week so i'm thinking hes back and then for this game I needed a solid Wr so I spent $30 out of my waiver pool to get him back on my team.  gets me less than 3 points yesterday after an injury.

- had the cards kicker all year.  not only did he cost me week 1 with a missed FG but the cards haven't been scoring much.  I finally dropped him for the bengals kickers who has been in the top 5 of scoring for a kicker.  so what happens?  cards kicker has the best game of his seasons bengals kicker gets me 2 points.

- wanted to change my D so I put a claim for the bills.  didn't get them and what happens?  they return a pick for a TD.

LOVE FANTASY!

(only down 2 points with Carolina D to go, crossing my fingers but not too hopeful!)

it's so dumb that fantasy allows people to pick up players after Tuesday and not have the waiver wire waiting period/points set up.  thanks for stealing both my backups guys!

you got to switch to daily waivers then, i did it in my other leagues just to do away with "the first to hear" system that open waivers basically is. I highly recommend it.
