I think Treadwell at 8 would be a big reach, He doesn't scream #1 stud WR to me, more as a super high end #2 possession guy ..... I'm all in on Baylor's Corey Coleman as the best WR in this draft
as for the rams, eh. I didnt even know they were close to choosing a team. I guess the LA move will be cool to see but they dont have may stars. actually their dline is absolutely stacked and those big guys can be pretty damn funny. not the worst chice, mostly cause of the move, but not the best either.
persoanlly i would have voted for 49ers and that mess their in with Kaep and Chip.
Do not love it, after some thought, it's just another tool the NFL is using to get rid of the kick off. Teams will be happy to take the extra 5 yards by kneeing it in the endzone, they'll encourage players NOT to take it out anymore... they might as well just have the other team start on the 20 after the other team scores now...
9ers couldn't get chosen, teams with first year coaches are exempt.
while I agree I would love the 49ers as well to see chip, that's not happening because chip is very secretive and like josh said, 1st year coaches are exempt. with that said, the rams have potential here. they don't have stars? who cares, hard knocks makes story lines out of guys who never even touch the field, the true stars are the COACHES. and who do we have on the rams? a feisty jeff fisher and an even feistier Gregg Williams who was you know, suspended for a year for trying to intentionally injury players with bounties! the rams are consistently viewed as a dirty team and where does that come from? their dirty ass coaches! it's going to be great seeing these guys fire up their team in practice and I'm excited for it already!
top 100 corners from 2015. some interesting notes:
- the worst on this list was Brandon browner haha no surprise there with all his PI/holding penalties.
- janoris Jenkins ranked #75?? not exactly what I would want to see from a high priced FA and esp one who is used to the rams pass rush and now going to a new system....
- Byron Maxwell ranked 31. I think that is a pretty fair ranking, shows he is a decent 2nd corner. obviously he is getting paid to be a top 5 corner which is why philly wanted to get rid of him so badly but I didn't think he was that bad and I guess this somewhat proves that.
- DRC #27. thought that was interesting, I figured he would be a little higher on the list but I guess not.
- William gay #23?? nick, didn't u tell me this guy is one of the worst corners on the team?
- prince was ranked #16. why did the giants let this guy go?
- josh norman was ranked #8. very surprising, I thought he was getting defensive player of the year buzz and now hes not even in the top 5? guess this writer thinks all the talent around him played a big factor.
- tyrann Mathieu #1?? while I agree he is extremely good, I think to call him the best corner in the league is a bit of a stretch. I know he plays a lot of nickel corner, but hes more of a safety and not a lock down #1 outside corner like what I was expecting.
these ranks are always pretty bad. im a big will gay fan (youtube his dances), its antwan blake who was the worst in the league IMO and id be surprised if he was anywhere near this list.
funny thing is blake signed with the titans for $2m and brandon boykin signed with the panthers for the league minimum. boykins story is so weird. we traded a 5th for him and sat him on the bench for the first 14 games even though blake was absolutely terrible. he was pretty good when he was in there but then they made no effort to resign him, he resigned 2 weeks after blake and is making peanuts.
the dude must have a mental problem or slept with someones wife. hes only 25 and in this day good CBs get all the love.
i like the top 5. norman should be higher thou. and darius slay?! (speaking of slay he had an interesting take on the deangelo russell situation)
“This young man ain’t nothing but 20 years old,” Slay said on Periscope. “You all acting like he snitched or something, he didn’t even snitch, his phone leaked the video out or something.”
yeah I don't get the boykin thing either. he had a great 2nd year with philly and I think he either lead the league in INTS or was 2nd as a freaking slot corner and people here were asking why he wasn't started. the theory was that chip didn't think he was tall enough to stay on the outside and he was so good in the slot they didn't want to move in, etc. Then he was traded in TC to the steelers because everyone thought he was going to want to play on the outside and get a big deal, but yet he didn't even play for the steelers as you mentioned. and to be honest, the eagles were fine in the slot so his loss didn't even make an impact so who knows what is going on with him, but its also surprising eagles didn't go back after him either.
you guys see the greg hardy interview? I didn't think it was possible to make himself look worse in what was supposed to be a redemption piece about himself haha, but he did it! jeez, for someone who was lucky enough to get a 2nd chance with dallas after seeing someone like ray rice never get one, then to screw that up time after time, and now this? the guy is a moron and I've heard multiple radio people say they were scared to asked him questions becauses he crazy and they didn't know how he would react haha. I would be surprised if a team picked him up any time soon if at all.
yeah man hes the worst kind of person. not only did he do something terrible but hes so delusional about himself that he doesnt think he did anything wrong. ppl like that dont deserve to be making millions of dollars, or any dollars, so im glad hes scewed it up for himself and has no one else to blame.
gotta feel a bit for ray rice thou. he went about everything the right way and is still remorseful and working to fix his mistake but isnt even getting a look (or an interview).
id be all about it, especially the ravens. steelers reporters are saying they will either wear all black or all white on thxgiving so not sure whos right (the card has them in all gold). they play at indy and colts wear white alot so im hoping steelers get all black.
still, hoping the ravens are true they would look like some of UMD unis. bengals also look cool and NYG get some special treatment with the second color as well!
I like it, I've always wanted to see the eagles in a silver uniform so I'm excited for that. I wonder why the skins were not listed on that chart as well. some of these teams really don't make sense tho:
- the cards in yellow/gold
- falcons silver
- KC is yellow??
- raiders in gold?
my friend is also a chiefs fan and he told noticed the chiefs and raiders play on a Thursday night game where these color rush games normally happen. so unless the nfl plans on having a game where the chiefs are all yellow and the raiders are all gold then one of those teams will be changing. my bet is the raiders would go all silver which would be pretty cool.
this whole sam Bradford situation is funny, last night his agent came out and said "sam is a competitor, but he wants to go somewhere where he knows he's the man."
umm isn't that a direct contradiction? you are a competitor, yet, you don't want to compete for your job and want it handed to you. I guess I see bradfords side a little, I'd be pissed too if I signed a deal expecting to be a teams franchise QB and a month later they basically mortgage their future on a rookie. but at the same time, don't sign a 2 year deal then if you want long term security. he should have hit the open market, signed a 3-4 year deal with a lot less money for someone else and be the man there.
my gut says he does not get traded. the 11M signing bonus is too much of a hit to just give him away and I don't think another team is going to offer the eagles anything in return that would make it worth it. plus the eagles still want to win a division that is wide open, not to mention giving up a high pick next year, which means Bradford is the guy this year. normally I would not be worried about a guy saying he's not showing up for voluntary workouts in april, but the fact we're installing a new offense and our starting qb is not there isn't good. this draft is going to be very telling, if Bradford is not traded by Monday then I don't see what his next play is going to be, sit out the season? then he risks getting benched and not playing at all which wouldn't help him.
Panthers released SCB Brandon Boykin.
Boykin signed a one-year deal with Carolina in late March which included an $80,000 signing bonus. The state of the corner depth chart and their willingness to eat that bonus prior to the start of OTAs suggests Boykin is dealing with an off-field issue. Once considered an elite slot corner, Boykin's career has taken a sharp turn south since being traded to the Steelers last August. Carolina also cut CB Ras-I Dowling.
just came here to say the same thing! damn! color me surprised. its obviously something very wrong with him... traded away from an eagles team for peanuts, traded for by the steelers and doesnt play, walks and signed with the panthers for the vet minimum then released 2 months later before even minicamp?
he really was pretty good when he was on the field, what in the world is keeping him from being on the field?
jesus this guys built like danielle right now. no way he can take a hit from an nfl OLB. not to mention there are some things to cause someone lose so much weight in less than a year. im sure this is probably common opinion right now but id say its almost guarenteed hes played his last down in the nfl.
It’s also sad and depressing. The latest comes from TMZ, which reports that “Manziel has become even more reckless with his drug problem recently — even blowing lines in front of people he barely knows.”
TMZ also cites unnamed sources close to Manziel who say that he “is going to die unless something changes soon.” Another source said that friends have confronted Manziel about his drinking and drug use, and that “[h]e flipped out and would not hear it.”
Manziel’s father expressed concern back in February that Manziel would not make it to his next birthday if he doesn’t get help. Since then, the situation apparently has gotten worse, not better.
is this his 3rd crash recently? he had the one with josh Gordon that he fleed the scene, right? and then the rented car he destroyed that the owner went after him, and now this??
yeah it does. game wise its basically only summer baseball and the euro's for soccer. drama wise NBA FA starts on Friday so that will be interesting, and the Olympics are a few weeks away right?
i think olympics start in august which is weird cause theyre supposed to be summer olympics.
better olympics: summer or winter? im going winter, mostly because of hockey and snowboarding. i do really enjoy diving and swimming seems to be popular but those arent as fun to watch. apparently USA has some superstar gymnast this time around so shes all the hype.
All about Winter olympics, Skiing/Snowboarding events/Hockey/Speed Skating/Luge/etc etc wayyyy better
I do like Gymnastics in summer, basketball is bleh you know the US is just gonna dominate, not much else comes to mind quickly.... Swimming is boring IMO
basketball is by far and away my favorite thing to watch for either summer or winter but that is more so because I love seeing all these elite NBA guys play on the same team rather than the competition. I'd prolly lean towards winter as well but I don't really care either way. summer also has track with Bolt going for his 3rd gold in a row in the 100 so that should be a huge event to watch out for...but it ends in 10 seconds haha. I feel like there is a lot more star power in the summer Olympics, you got the NBA players, Michael phelps and the swimmers, Bolt and the track guys, and the gymnastic girls always become stars (nick you were referring to simone biles who I just heard about yesterday but apparently is a big deal).
with that said, when does training camp start again...
